duncmac replied to duncmac's topic in General Guides
im trying to keep it updated but it doesnt seem much a hit. i get a lot of views, very few replies, so hey. i figure i'll put out a V2 sometime. but thanks, i spent a bit of time finding different ways to make lots of xp fairly cheap. -

yessir. that's my gameplay mode. quick, easy, no lag time. its a real nice toolbar. takes like 5 mins to find how to use it perfect and you're good to go. and the nice hting is most of the things include "view full record" which in firefox opens the new window to view the information in full detail on the official tip.it page. super nice.

it is worth it to p ot against ankou since the drops that are worth keeping are stackable, adn they rarely hit on good def, you can bring pots. it'll speed up your kill rate. however i also advise green dragons. hands down. also you can try: pure essence mining runecrafting fishing lobs/monks/sharks woodcutting yew making regular clay into soft clay making tele tabs in your POH GWD if you're high enough level Daggonoth kings, same as GWD, high level. hunt red or even grey chiinchompas that's just a list for starters

well i was about to link you to this but someone else beat me to it. i use it. i love it. tip.it advises you upon downloading it of jagex inc. rules and how it would be viewed on their part, and it is entirely 100% safe and virus, keylog, and trojan free.

willows in red bank in blue. yews are in the bottom left just east of that chapel with the alter you see on the very bottom left of the map

i'd like to know as well. have you looked into planking? and amulet stringing? gold amulets stringing with lunar i hear is VERY fast, and expensive, but you can use the gold ammies once strung as junk in junk trades. if so, you can somehwat make some cash back. idk the math on either :-X just thoughts.

btw sidenote on herbs: pickup all of them! tarromin and marrentill are the only ones i would say you MIGHT not pickup. MAKE SURE YOU PICKUP RANARRS. 6k ea usually. snap dragon, kwarum, irit, avantoe, and a couple of others you wont find at al kharid gaurds also are all a copule of k each or more. guam and harralander are dec cash. make sure to get those too, the banks super close

nope not a pure this is my new main can someone tell me where i can train mem around 35-40 str up till 60 and same deal with attk and def... ive never been mem so idk where the monsters are... and same deal with fishing and wc'ing. lvl 1 in each starting out >.> I'd say first and foremost, for fishing, get to fly fishing levels. do this in either shilo village or barb village. shilo requires shilo village quest. either that or try big net fishing, in catherby. get to lvl 50-60 fish before bothering with lobsters. fish these in catherby until you can fish lobs in the fishing guild. woodcutting? hands down, lvl 30, head to seers village. this is near willow, which are hugely fast xp.' and for cash? head to the church near there with 3 or 4 yew treees. bonus. combat? well i like al kharid guards. they have sexy amounts of herb drops. these herbs sell on grand exchange at minimum prices for mucho moneys. rock crabs, yaks, and experiements are also noteworthy. find these using the beastiary guide on tip.it. linked here ----> http://www.tip.it/runescape/?rs2monster any other questions let me know

anytime is a good time to be a member. there are better places and methods to train. free to play worlds are smaller, thus overcrowded, so even if you train on the same things at the same place there will be less crowding on a members world. in addition there are monsters and places that permit better experience rates. as for fishing and woodcut, its not even worth it unless you have members. where do you fish and bank lobsters as a nonmember? oh yeah karamja to draynor. SLOW. members? catherby.enough said. woodcut? same deal. get members asap. better equiptment, better methods to train, better places to train, less cowding all makes a more pleasant more productive gameplay.

to answer the question you actually asked, i find it depends on range lvl. at 76 range i find im receiving about 40-50k xp an hour, and at 90-99 it is supposed to top out at 60-65k xp hourly at ogres. of course the ranarr and snap seeds mean you'll profit even if you dont pick up your knives in many cases, i only pick up knives when i go to get seeds. -strawberry -watermelon -snapdragon -kwaurm -ranarr

i wouldnt advise playing in school as it often results in violating school policy (as i and many others saw in my highschool my senior year, resulting in detentions and suspensions) however there IS a way., granted you can access flash drives or cdrom... download firefox, and copy the actual "firefox[Caution: Executable File]" program to the flash drive or cdrw, then make sure you change the name of it, either before or after transferring the firefox app, to something along the lines of "notepad[Caution: Executable File]" or another approved school program. thus the pc will think it's running notepad, the word processing app, but in reality you'll be running mozilla firefox with its built in web proxy.

i really should train my combat to make me gwd worthy. haha. i've been putting it off. at 97 cbt, not too far off tbh. -
i've been aroudn for ages, and have always kept an eye on rares. in 2004, in the initial release of rs2, i bought 15 santa hats at 125k when they dropped in price. held onto them, and sold them later for 200k. and as people realized the fluctuation in prices of rares, many began to make a killing in merchanting. here comes the problems. people begin to make more and more cash at such a rapid rate, that rares, in turn, begin to escalate in price to maintain their position as a status symbol, so only the top percentiles of the rs population can afford them. this causes immense rises in the price of rares, to the point in which where i once bought santas for 100-150k regularly, i could no longer afford the 30m+ hat. enter skill capes. prior to these, there was no real way to show off the accomplishment of a 99 skill unles syou told everyone to look on highscores. the skill capes became even more of a status symbol, as skills such as herblore, prayer, and more recently construction permitted people to show off not only immense financial investments, but also a great deal of dedication. to make rares even less of a status symbol, other items, equally expensive, and infinitely more useful became known in the game. these came about NOT to kill the rare trade, but instead to offer an advantage to higher level players for partaking in various aspects of runescape gameplay, as jagex noticed a trend in which once you reach a certain level, there isnt much else to do or gain from actual gameplay other than money. the final blow wasnt in the fact that an alternative began to exist to owning rares as a status symbol, but instead in the trade limit. such a limit makes merchanting, impossible, and set a fixed price based on supply and demand. no merching means less rares are purchased. in addition, without the flexability of a free economy, it became much mroe difficult to accumulate multiple millions of coins in a day or two of work. less ability for people to profit off rares, less trust in the economy after jagex limitations, less ability for people to make enough money to afford rares, and less incentive to buy rares in a game where items and capes not only can serve as a sign of wealth but also a purpose statistically, make the tradable rares essentially nothing more than items that are seen in junk trades for various peices of armour and weapons, ie 3rd age and dclaws. rares arent what they used to be. they are simply more costly than they are effective and useful, and therefore, no longer serve as more than a reminder of how the game used to be.

really, the ONLY way is to find out yourself or read someones guide. or ask someone who has said level to findout for you. the reason being that the only way to find this is to do it trial and error. so if you can find someone, cutting willows, with 90 woodcut, and a dragon axe, ask them if they can find out how much xp they get hourly, or in a 5 or 10 minute time frame, then do the math yourself. of course, to find out YOUR rates you can always do a trial yourself in the same fashion. i often do something for 15 minutes, calculate my xp gain for that 15 mins, and then multiply it by 4 to get hourly xp. another good way, is to look for a guide on said skill. i know most guides in the archive of wisdom and general guides section include estimated rates for both experience, as well as cash gain/loss, which is something i made sure to include both of in my crafting guide. take a look, and best of luck. if you need any help with basics, feel free to come to me, i tend to comb the forums on occasion.

haha yeah, but that wont be much of a problem in my 2 hour sociology lecture.
-
keyword: junk yeah, i get that point. i just try to avoid accumulation of junk because in MOST peoples cases it doesnt serve much of a purpose.
-
Closer to 400k exp/hour. But yes. so making addy bolts i could achieve 400k xp hourly for around 3 coins per xp!? is this with or without tips? assuming buying unf and just feathering?

the problem with the yak hide idea is its useless because you essentially take a loss unless you know someone wiling to buy multiple millions gp worth of yak legs. i have a crafting guide, which you can fiind under archive of wisdom > general guides. i would throw in the possibility of either glass items or EMERALD BRACELETS. mmm bracelets ftw. ok now on the 99s? for speed? fletching, firmaking, cooking, hunter, theive, range (if you can afford 40m in chins), woodcut. as for profitable 99s? melee skills, range (with bronze knives on dropping monsters), fishing, mining, hunter, woodcut. i have 99 craft and im now working on 99 hunter, and it IS tedeous, however it is hugely profitable. if you want a trimmed 99, i'd advise cutting willows and maple to 99 and burning them all. but what it really comes down to is finding a skill you enjoy, getting into the grove of it, and doing it until you hate it, and then some. it pays off in the end. best of luck.
