NitrousIRC is an IRC network (similar to the irc.tip.it network, or freenode, quakenet, or any other IRC network. Chatzilla is not "pretty much IRC." Chatzilla (like mIRC, Xchat, Irssi, and many others) is an IRC client - used for accessing IRC (similar to how you use a web browser to access the world wide web, or an email application to access your email.)
