rune scimmy/long without shield OR rune 2hander?

Why wouldn't you use a shield with your rune long or scimmy? They're not 2-handed weapons like the r2h.

Well, becuase I don't want to waste money or risk losing it. Would it be better to use a shield instead of a 2h?

Ditto. Except I might save myself 20k or so and buy a rune sq shield and get basically the same value from it.

i assume ur pking? Why not get that wooden shield sitting out in the edge of varrok-wildy border. It gives +1 mage bonus, altho u probly have like -50 mage anyway with full rune. But i recommend u getting a long with a sq shield (for cost effectiveness). That extra cash for rune 2h u can use on a shield.. And besides, a rune 2h isnt a very good primary weapon because of its slow speed, its usually used for knockout blows cuz of its accuracy and strength.

Scimmy is faster to kill but r2h is too slow but if you're lucky you might hit some 15+ :

Well, I'm mainly going to use it to train, so if I train on low-hp monsters, wouldn't a 2h be better? Esp. if I combine it with a strenght ammy?

Use rune scimitar and a kite shield for training ALWAYS. Unless you're a member and can use better weapons and armour.

Go for rune scimmy. Unless you get lucky, you will deal much better damage overall with scimmy, although a 2h is great to finish off someone at low health :lol:
