January 16, 200719 yr What commonly happens is neighbors will get a wireless router and set it up on the same channel as the one you have is broadcasting. This causes a "Clash" causing your internet to go out and the router to reset itself. To fix this, you'll need to go into your routers configuration and change the channel it broadcasts on, Hope this helps :)
January 16, 200719 yr YOu can download NetStumbler to see what channel your neighbors are on. http://www.netstumbler.com/downloads/ And also, if you have a 2.4ghz wireless phone near the router, move it. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
January 16, 200719 yr Have you checked something as simple as making sure you have Microfilters on every phone line? I was having loads of internet problems the other day before I realised that someone had plugged in a different telephone in the hallway and hadnt used a microfilter. January 16, 200719 yr A Microfilter (DSL Filter) is a little box that plugs in between the socket and phone line. You need them on every socket that has a telephone, fax machine, voiceband modem and other voiceband device in the home or else you'll get kicked off the net every few minutes. January 17, 200719 yr What I would suggest is getting an antenna for your router the antenna should plug in where the reg antenna is. I am in the same situation and the antenna does make a difference. :D
