Montezuma Posted January 19, 2007 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Mini-game Idea: Theseus was a hero in ancient greek mythology who killed a mighty minotaur. The minotaur lived in a giant maze and would recieve sacrifices of a group of human lives so he wouldn't attack the village. Theseus's love had compassion for the people who were sacrificed and persuaded Theseus to kill the beast. Theseus attached a rope around him so he could back track his steps if need be and headed into the maze. He kiled the minotaur and the town was saved. The Game: Many villagers have been sacrificed to a minatuar and a woman has asked for your help. She says that the town hero, Theseus, has ran away and is no where to be found. She has asked you to go and kill the minatuar in order to prevent future sacrifices. Mini-Game Requirements: Access to the Legends guild, a high combat level that is 115+ is recomended, 70+ theiving, and 60+ agility. In The Maze: There is going to be 2 storys to this maze. The maze will also have to change randomly so that no maze guides can be created for this, that is if it is possible. Many traps and agility obsticles willl be in your path. Many poisionous darts will mostlikely hit you so bring antipoison. Also you have a chance at rescueing 14 civilians making it possible for you to earn 35k. All you have to do is find them when they are in the maze talk to them and tell them to follow the rope back to the begining. The Minataur: Once your first step in to the center chamber of the bottom floor the Minataur will charge at you instantly and deal 65 damage. Obviously you are going to need a lot off food for this guys. His combat level is at 575. His max hit besides the charges is 35. He is in armour and has a great big 2h axe. If you try to run away again he will do his charge attack and hit 65 guarenteed again. His axe has prayer draining abilities that will drain your prayer 1/4 of the damage he was supposed to do. His armour has high protection against range. He also has 250 hp. The Reward: Minataur body. Have to drag the body out to prove to the woman who sent you that you killed the best. Then your reward is as follows: 2,500gp per civilian saved. Exp in any 2 combat skilsl which would be skill level times 100 The minotaurs body to be stuffed and placed in your POH (player owned house) Possible Minitaur armour and weapon (about 1 out of every 20 attemps and the wielding requirements would be at 80. Also they would be untradeable [possiby, it is up to Jagex if they adopt this idea]). Maybe some runes or arrows. Also I appologize for not having pictures or anything like that because I am by no means skilled at making pictures. Supporters: Adon1 ml417 (maybe?) Buckeyemange (maybe? The name of the hero you speak of was Theseus, and the only way that he was able to defeat the minotaur was with the aid of the daughter of the king of the evil island, Minos. The daughter, Ariadne, fell in love with Theseus, and would not let him die. She gave him golden thread and a sword, and he used the thread to get back out. 2. Minos had once attacked Athens and won. For him to not attack again, The sacrifice that Minos required was that 7 men and 7 maidens be sent to the island every 9th year (Some say every year). 3. Theseus's father was Aegeus, the king of Athens. Theseus promised to fly white sails on the return to show that he had lived. He had forgoten to use them (Some say that he placed the minotaur's head in it) and his father jumped from a cliff. After that, Theseus became king. 4. The maze was made to hold the minotaur. Some believe it was the offspring of the wife of Minos and his wife, who was driven insane by Poseidon after Minos angered him. Others believe it was the son of Minos, cursed by Zeus. Either way, the maze was made to keep the monster out of the eyes of the public. With those four things in mine, some minor changes to your quest, which may improve it. STARTING THE QUEST You speak with a great king, who has visited the Legend's guild for the help of a mighty warrior. He tells you that his island is threatend by an evil king, and is asking for the sacrifice to the monster in the maze of Crete. His son has went to the island, and he fears for his son's well-being. So, he asks you to give him back-up. PART 2 You reach the island. You are quickly taken prisoner. The king says to you that one extra sacrifice will be fine, and throws you in prison with the other 14 prisoners. You meet up with Theseus, and he tells you about his new girl, Ariadne, and the thread/sword. He also tells you that she had given him two other weapons as well. A bow with the top shaped like the head of a bull, and a staff with the orb replaced with a bulls head. The sword's hilt has two hrons comming off of it. You take your choice, and then the sacrifice begins. *All items are taken* PART 3 While in the maze, you have the thread behind you, and must retrace your steps when thread becomes low. Theseus follows you through the caves, as well as any men/maidens you find. When you find the Minotaur's cave, you see a cut scene with him hitting a young boy, hitting a 30 and taking all health. You and Thesus charge the cave. THE BATTLE Whatever weapon you took, Theseus will attack with the others two. The charge can't take 65, as the most health anyone can have is 99. Possibly 30-35. If you beat the beast, you can take the body, as you said. THE END You make your way out of the maze, and find Minos. He pleads to you that he had to lock up the beast, and he had no choice. You make attack him, level 95, 100 health, uses the sword of Crete. Defeating him will give you the blade and become ruler, which gives you free acess to the island's many places. Or, you can spare him, and he will pay you 300k and also give you free acess. I'm not sure what the island would have, make that up. REWARDS For every Man/Maiden you save, you get 15k. Whatever weapon you gained from Theseus to fight the minotaur. Acess to the island The sword of Crete (if you kill the king) 300k (If you spare him) The body-The body can be changed into armor by the master craftsmen of Crete. You would get the head of the beast, the body, leggings, feet and fists. Aegeus's blessing-Gives you 25k XP in two combat skills. So before you accuse me of "stealing" your idea make sure you have evidense to back it up. Also If I had stole your idea I would have just as much details as you did. Do you know how many people use these forums? Atleast 2 of them, me and you, would know about this. There are probably 1,000 people if not more who use these forums. Seriously learn that you're not the only one interested, or who knows about, in greek mythology or whatever you want to call it. Edit-->Honestly for all anyone can know you could have ripped this idea from me in hopes to gain the (what ever word goes here, can't think of it right now). I just stated that if you add any of my ideas to your idea, I would like the recognition. Second, when did I say I was the only one interested? I know others like mythology, and I was simply adding what I've learned/read, so if you would like it to be more like what the widely believed story is. Third, the word you are looking for is credit. Fourth, I NEVER used the word stealing. Fifth, if you read what I said... With those four things in mine, some minor changes to your quest, which may improve it. Don't assume you know what my beliefs are! I just was giving my ideas on what I believe would be in a quest like this. Oh, you misspelled "evidence," forgot countless commas, at least is two words, and have words that have capital letters that shouldn't. Great job yelling at someone and look like a moron. Stihl Posted January 22, 2007 Share Posted January 22, 2007 You used the wrong "forth" (fourth), the word, "mind", contains the letter, "d", and your closing statement contains a grammatical mismatch, so get off of your high horse on the spelling/grammar garbage. Also, there is a heck of a difference between, "I would like the recognition", and "you'd better put my name in there!". Either way, demanding credit is a great way to make sure that your ideas are ignored. Back on topic, seeing as we already have minotaurs, would it be suitable to glorify the name of this one? Greater minotaur? Huge minotaur? King minotaur? Something to that effect, perhaps. Oh, uh, I wouldn't worry about the high thieving requirement if I were you. Considering how many people are disappointed with the lack of "high-level" quests, this ought to shut them up. Good job working all this out. But then some other things may have to be added to the quest to make it longer or harder. Maybe. That sounds like you are either 1 accusing me of stealing your idea or 2 (which I didn't think of) offering your suggustions and making sure you get credit (That is the word I was looking for earlier yippee.) Well sorry for assuming the wrong thing. Man, I never learn sometimes, lol. Well thanks for the extra details. I hadn't boned up on my greek mythology in a long time so some of the names got mixed up with me. Oh, and sorry for the mix up. Blue_star67-->Maybe. The minataur was a feared beast though. He could probably take down an entire village. I myself am an f2p and know that he is very high. That is because this is supposed to be a difficult quest for high level people. Thouth if Runescape does adopt this idea they would probably tweak it a little more and make it either less chalenging to be a noob quest or still make it semi-difficult. His charge is a one thing deal and will only happen once unless someone is stupid enough to run away from him. Oh and his hits from his axe should take away I guess 5 prayer points a hit.
