jemathonical
It takes a while to go to sleep some nights too. The only method I use to make myself go to bed faster is to, during the day, be active and make myself tired. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it! zeekyhbomb
I listen to Love Line on the radio every week night, it seems to help. :P
Obsessive_Passion
I experienced one of those hot, sleepless nights last night. Anyone in Sydney would have felt it too. Apart from turning the fan on and trying to watch the tennis to make me sleepy (lying in bed and watching the ball go to-and-fro...), I try to recite song lyrics, ones that I've memorised and can recite mindlessly - especially lyrics in another language. Odd, but it works for me. For me, I need to wake up on time, both during school term and during the holidays. I can't be late to school, or I risk receiving detentions. This year, I might also have some morning classes (before school starts - at 7 am), especially for my extension lessons. So it's imperative I wake up on time, feeling refreshed. I follow a very strict sleeping pattern. I need my 9 hours sleep each night, hopefully at the same time each night. If I undersleep, I develop bad headaches. If I oversleep, however, I usually feel nauseous and 'go crazy'. This causes inconveniences when travelling overseas - especially to Europe (jetlag, being one of the predominant reasons for not having travelled there). Markup
I'm 13 and I also had the problem. Mine takes to the next level though. I have to drink reguraly(sp) to keep cool. Otherwise I get to hot and feel sick. Sleeping takes will power. keep those eyelids shut all the time and don't move. Works for me. ~MAK
Clown
Try to think that your bed is floating through space, along with you in it. Very slowly and calmly. ~
Futurama
Used to be the same as you with sleep... I can never sleep anymore if there's something on my mind, cos when I try, it winds me up big time. Usually just tire myself out by 11pm, get in bed and close my eyes. I usually flicker my eyes a lot as to maknd it seeme them heavy :P Although... When I was 13/14 or so I had really bad sleep patterns and not by choice either, they were insane: bed at 7pm, wake up at 5am, bed at 2am, wake up at midday, etc. So needless to say i've 'found a lot of ways of making myself sleepy. :) - Horlicks/Warm cream/milk. Nackers me out a treat. - Physical exercise ~1hour before bed. It'll give you enough time to wind down after and because it's late at night you don't seem to recover from tiring yourself out. - Think about tomorrow. Plan out what you're gonna do, when your gonna do it, etc...but don't worry about things! :) - Soothing music before bedtime, no music ~20mins before sleep. I recommend Explosions In The Sky :) - Go to bed at a sensible time and wake up at a sensible time! Try and get ~9 hours sleep a night and you'll wake up fine :)

mixand
It takes my hours and hours to get to sleep but most of the time i dont even get to sleep so im awake for 2 days, omg and school is coming up soon "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel AdamsMy new site. [bETA]
Bubsa
Might be worth going to a doc and seeing if you're a clinic insomniac. Saying that, when I went and was diagnosed, doctor couldn't do anything for me >.< I often find that when I'm awake during those times, I think at my clearest. Bear that in mind. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

Blue_Eggz
Hi everyone. For as long as I can remember it has taken many hours tossing and turning in my bed to finally get to sleep. It get's annoying because I wake up in the morning to go to school sometimes and I'm very tired and find it hard to concentrate. And so everyone knows, I have tried going to sleep earlier and it doesn't work. I think what might be the reason for this is that I heat up very easily. In winter I wear barely anything, and have the fan right next to my bed. If I turn the fan off I heat up and have to sleep without a sheet or anything and I still heat up. The Purpose of this thread :?: Discuss methods on how you get to sleep easier, Share Stories about consequences that have arrised from over/undersleeping and discussing sleeping. If it helps to solve any of my problems, I'm 13. Remember to keep it appropriate and to the topic. I don't want my thread locked :) Thanks Everyone ~Ben So true! I get in bed, try going to sleep, find it to warm. I take my blanket down a bit, I started shivering. It's SOOO annoying and I have the same problems!
