mbrun
I am one of the older players and most of my RS friends are parents/adults too. I first saw the game played by some friend's kids and later my nephew and bro started playing. I never liked the games where u needed lightning reflexs to play cause I'm not that quick with the mouse and keyboard. I have met some very mature younger players. I think it is cool when a young player can educate an adult on how to do something in the game or share a game secret. I like the chat aspect of the game cause everyone has similar interests (as far as the game is concerned)). I used to never hear from my little bro til he got me hooked on RS over the summer at my parent's place. Now we talk about once a day about RS and the kids. Guess it all depends where u hang out in RS. I tend to stay away from F2P even when I need cheap materials for skillin. I try to help other players out as much as possible. I even go to free world to sell items like Rune Scimmies cause I know they can use them there. It would be nice if Jagex would create a world that was by invitation only where only mature and honest gamers could hang out with little fear of scammers, macroers, and beggars. Even if we had to pay a lil extra. Barrows Drops: Guthan's platelegs and War Spear, Dharok's plate body and Great Axe, Verac's Flail, Verac's Helm x 2, Ahrim's top, Dharok's plate legs Dragon Drops: Medium Helm x 4, Shield Left Half, plate legs x 2, skirt x 2. sour_tacos
There was actually a post a while back about a 60-some year old grandmother who plays with her grandson. A ton of people didn't believe her, but if it is true, I say rock on! =D>
sirhcssog
cool! i thot i was one of a handful of adults playing. and yea, you meet ppl in the game you think are mature but cant ask about them and dont want to volunteer info about yourself cuz ppl say OMG! ur sooooo old. w/e looking for freinds to in the game (in the game only, not rl). so want to have friends in game that can talk about stuff besides the teacher. add me if you want to do stuff. i'm still kind of a noob. been playing about a year now. i spend most of my time doing skills or quests or hanging with my son. he's the one that got me to play in the first place. tosid
Drgnrdr 708, It is a pity that there are no worlds for the older crowd. I am only a few years younger than you, but I find the game a pleasant distraction from the demands of the day job. I am able to relax and let my mind wander in total fantasy. However dealing with a teener can become tiresome. Maybe we should start letter campaign to Jagex for such a world. As for the younguns who believe that oldsters should not play - Just because we are older does not mean our brains have become fixed into rigamortis. crushenator
I am 22 and love playing this game cause I live out of home and it gives me a chance to socialize with my little brother and other cousins. I've gotta say though my World of Warcraft playing peers think I am a complete loser
