My buddy that lives right next to me (met him through baseball), I discovered is an amazing singer. Anywho, he came over, I jammed on the piano for a bit, and he sang along. I left my door open (my place smells that of rotten eggs), and we actually had a couple people poke their heads in and tell us we were really good. So we put our heads together, and decided we should start up a little band, just us two for now. However, we need a list of songs that can be performed with just a piano and vocals Currently we have: 100 Years - Foo Fighters Right Here Waiting - Richard Marx I can't make you Love me - ??????? So Sick - Ne-yo I'll Be - Edward McCain We need more songs tho. I honestly feel if we get 15 or so songs that we can work on, we can get a record deal somewhere. I'll record some songs and upload them when I get the chance to, so in the meantime, my fellow tip.iters can help me out by giving me some piano/vocal songs! Getting a record deal isn't all about what you can play, it's what you can write (assuming your not going down the whole superficial 'i'll write your songs for you' pop culture). assassin_696 Posted January 27, 2007 Share Posted January 27, 2007 Try busking somehow with a piano, that's always fun and interesting to see what kind of interest you can generate. :) As for piano songs, look at David Gray stuff, Coldplay or Beatles classics. Try doing some covers of songs you like for piano and voice. Experiment, don't just repeat oldies. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. I managed to learn the accoustic version of "Thug Mansion" on the piano, but it took aaaagggggeessss.
