mrmyk
okay, i logged onto tif today and as usual check the rate this! forum. All seems fine with just a few spam posts where someone was saying they could hit 83 with iron knives. I think "idiot" and stroll off to view some decent topics. A while later i come back and see another post has been made about the 83 with iron knives even though the first one was locked. I see it has already been reported which is fine so i cannot do anything else and just go back to another thread. I return later to see a post "my 100th lyching". I go on it and see racist pictures, jokes and general racist behaviour. I'm annoyed by this severly as my best friend is an african. I post as well this topic is very insulting and possibly a criminal offence. I get called racist for my comments and the spamming continues. 5 minutes later the post is still not locked and 3 other posts have been created which just have 1 word in them. They have several posts on them yet are still not locked. how can we let tif get like this? tripsis
So what do you suggest we do? We're not "letting TIF get like this," it's the users that make it like this. We can't control what kinds of people register on our forum. You have to cut us moderators/administrators some slack. No, we cannot be on at all hours of the day, but we really do try our best to keep the forum as clean and safe as possible. Right now we have about 3-4 moderators, myself included, deleting every one of that user's posts as soon as we see them, until an administrator can deal with him. The best thing you can do to help us, is report the post and move on. Posting replies will only make matters worse. They encourage the thread creator to insult yet another person. As offensive, wrong or racist a post may be, you just have to ignore it and report it until a moderator can deal with it. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Loge_05
So what do you suggest we do? Introduce more Global Moderators. Obvious really. Offline and unavailable.

Albosky
So what do you suggest we do? Introduce more Global Moderators. Obvious really. You are one of the people who should understand how hard it is to keep the forum moderated 24 hours a day , no matter how many moderators there are... Nevertheless, when you take into account the retirements, resignations and inactivities, more global-moderators are needed to full the space. Offline and unavailable. Satenza
Can't moderators be given the power to make the persons posts so that they have to be approved by them before they are posted. Until an admin comes to ban them or whatever. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

I'm all for temp. bans for whoever spams or does something like this (possible perm. bans). ____
You are one of the people who should understand how hard it is to keep the forum moderated 24 hours a day , no matter how many moderators there are...I find that amusing; since scapeboard managed fairly well when the moderated and admin distribution (across time-zones) was fairly balanced. Now days it's more europe / America; and it's ending up in patches of time where it's almost impossible to contact a moderator or admin because they're either sleeping or at work / school.
