magic does effect your combat level, it just doesn't when you're still melee based.You should play around a bit with the tip.it combat calculator and you'll see what I'm talking about

You're not being civil accusing people of lying. There are spells that give magic xp without hp xp. A lot of people that make mage pures use those spells to keep their combat level lower.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, quests that only give magic xp and genie lamps would also do the same thing.

Umm if you plan to pk or something you do, if you dont plan to do any combat related things then you won't need hp I suppose...
