February 26, 200719 yr Maybe try using a higher opacity? Right now it looks like th eopacity is really low, which makes it look pretty messy. Using a higher opacity and low flow gives it a cleaner look, I think. But maybe that's just a personal preference :-k In addition, I think the coat could use a bit more drastic shading. Maybe more highlights on the top, like on his shoulders. Other than that, it looks pretty good though. The lineart looks nice and I like the colours. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
February 27, 200719 yr The colors look really good on this. His left arm looks a little off..I think it is the particular pattern in the fabric that is not working, especially where the bicep attaches to the forearm. I don't know as I have an issue with the opacity. This just has a more rough feel to it. Good work. Incidentally, are there a lot of firearms that small in D&D? Or are you just using the sytem within a different era?
February 28, 200719 yr mmm you've made one similar to this before right? either way I like it
February 28, 200719 yr MUCH better than the first it seems with practice you could really get a grip on this thanks everyone for the sigs!
February 28, 200719 yr Author Incidentally, are there a lot of firearms that small in D&D? Or are you just using the sytem within a different era? I'm using a homebrew campaign setting. And yes, I'll try something different about the colours next time. Right now I'm overlaying the colours on a layer of black and white shading. February 28, 200719 yr Are you overlaying with a. A brush? b. fills with blend modes? c. Colorize feature of levels (if I remember the PS terminology properly, I don't use PS)?
February 28, 200719 yr Author I'm overlaying with standard brushes. The way I do it now, I actually have four or so layers of shading and colour: one for the black and white, one for a "base", one for highlights and another for the background.
