handyguy
Well I found this topic while browsing another forum and thought it was interesting, so I figured I would post it here. How do you see Runescape Clans in 5 Years? 10 Years? I personally think there wont be as many clans as there are right now, probably alot less. You can find like 100 clans but I wouldnt doubt it if there was 20 clans because it seems like theres less low levels joining Clans and more high levels. And if most people keep wanting to join top clans like now...Then they'll probably just keep growing. Post your thoughts EDIT: To make this more interesting, assume Runescape is still out (even if you think it wont be)
The Observer
I think that there will be less clans in 5 - 10 years. The reason is is because a new game may come out and most clans might switch to that game. Or something horrible could happen to JAGeX. Or they will stop support for RuneScape and will create a new MMORPG.
dyingfetus
yea there wont be as many, people will get bored or new people will come in :P
Loge_05
It depends on the changes Jagex make. But the number of Clans has been growing over the past years and, unless something drastic happens, I'll expect that to continue. Offline and unavailable. The Observer
Alot of people are quitting too. So alot of clans may downsize.
Dbzruler72
I don't think there will be as many top clans. Most of the top ones right now will probably disband because the leaders will start their careers. New clans will take their place. But then again, some of the top clans could merge  & leadership can be transfered. I think less top clans would be better than having over 50 clans competing for one of the top 10 positions. *-P.K.M-* Website
The Observer
Yea. Some clans may disband though and not form together with new leadership because the members feel that they don't want to continue the clan anymore because they like the clan better with the leader that left. Eldelbo
I think there will always be a steady amount of new people comming and growing so I think there will be more clans but probly less active ones and there will be the few big ones http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=619339#top
The Observer
I think they will downsize too because people are retiring and you don't see as much fresh, new players as you used to.
Guest Almorzan
I agree with everyone, but I would like to add on that more and more immature players are joining runescape. Kids 10 years and younger I mean and I just don't see them being responsible enough to not only join a clan, but continue to stay active in the clan. There is also the problem with starting a new clan. Everyone starts a new clan, but seeing as everyone else is already in one...it never goes anywhere. I personally think communities will be the dominant system, not clans. They make people feel more at home and don't force people to pk. They are more lenient with things such as double clanning. They, no offence to anyone here, are more welcoming.

Dbzruler72
I agree with everyone, but I would like to add on that more and more immature players are joining runescape. Kids 10 years and younger I mean and I just don't see them being responsible enough to not only join a clan, but continue to stay active in the clan.I agree with that statement. Kids joining RuneScape are getting younger & younger, & the older kids are quitting. Maybe it's a cycle, when I started RuneScape I was 10--I was definently a newbie. After five years now, I have obviously matured, & I do not think kids younger than 13 should play. JAGeX tried to set a catcher up, but kids eventually get past it. Maybe it should be an actual rule that people have to be at least 13 years of age or they will be breaking the rules. *-P.K.M-* Website
The Observer
Yea. That is the problem. Clan member maturity. They really need to fix the thing up.
ardhzfhrtjhat
I don't think there will be less, most likely, with the Runescape population rising so much every month, alot more Clans like NR and DI. Big ones which lower levels will try to get a place in.
chisp
It all depends on the future of runescape. If it gets better, then more people will play it, thus more clans, and more members.
Dbzruler72
It all depends on the future of runescape.Clan Support will partly determine that as well. If JAGeX releases good clan support, clans will flourish. *-P.K.M-* Website

nobcut
i think that over time more and mroe ppl wil reach the recuirements for the top clans so everyone will join the top clans therefore making them grow and the smaller ones fail eventually i think there will be like 10 clans

But don't forget alot of high level people are quitting RuneScape. And new players take their place.
Nugget89
Operating under the unlikely assumption that rs is still around in 5-10 years...I don't think that clans will be as prevalent. Clans are losing strength as it is due to inactivity and because of an increasing number of people joining the "nh" craze. They'll always exist so long as rs is around...but I doubt with as strong of a force. 124 CombatRetired Echo of Silence Councilhttp://rseos.com/forums/

walrus23
'The' Clan will probably still be around. We've been alive for seven years. Probably most of the current clans will be dead, with a few still alive but nowhere near their current strength. The rest will be new clans that everyone joins to be powerful, but they'll probably die relatively soon. So basically the same as now. I am 'The' Futures Recruitment chief. If they targetted people over 18 and asked for there bank details to prove there age it would work better (but not really fair on people aged 15 upp were not all immature.
