February 24, 200719 yr I was just wondering where there is a such thing as an MMO with the same type of controls as FPS games. February 25, 200719 yr Wow has a fps style of movement if you use it. WASD controls, and you can use the mouse to control direction by dragging land. Not exactly what you like though. ~M

Enough said. I really don't think that jagex would change movement controls for runescape. They only added 1 keyboard command for the game in the switch from rsc to rs2. ~M

More detail, extra work, extra server space... to do this they'd probably need to increase membership prices and shut down runescape for a week or two to work on it... All they would have to do would be to set up a special beta server for the new control interface, or develop a special interlink for the normal servers. :) And as for the sky? 'HA! Who needs one?' Second person view would be a camera in from of your character staring at them like a person is standing in front of you, so you cant see in front of you. OT- There would need to be a lot of updates to make RS first person, but I do think it would be really cool.
February 28, 200719 yr All of you are looking at the current, not the possibilities, some may say "Runescape has no sky" or "Runescape only has NSEW tiles"...That can all change, and I personally think it would be a cool idea, I'm sure if someone suggested being able to move the camera up and down back in RSC they would get these same criticisms. Comparing it to WoW or KO (both games MMO games with a first person view) it would be cool. For thoes who said you wouldn't be able to look behind you, well, again, your not looking at all of the posibilities! It could very easily be made by having a "rear view" key, meaning press...idk, an example being "r" and you'd look behind you, and keep in mind, you still would have your minimap ;) . Or even setting an optional first person or normal view, so when not PKing or doing something tha requires being able to see your back side, you could use the first person, else use the current system. Runescape's items, NPC's and players are written in code as 3D objects, hence how they can have the 1,000s of camera angles that they have now without any lag :) ...the only problem or worry would be resolution in first person, they would need to add better graphics, your right, but hey, they've done it before! 8-) I think it's an awesome idea, I support : ~ Clicky for the blog of No Cb Skils ~
