Lemurian
Well, right here behind me Daziel and Pascoe (British serie) is runnin' in the background. Today's episode is placed in a place called Burrthorpe. Now I wonder. Has Runescape did: A: Taken the name from there B: Made the name up and it's a complete random choice or C: Have both origined from the same interesting place somewhere in the real world that I don't know about? Bludragon124
Jagex sometimes takes ideas: usually its for things I don't care about too much, like names. Jagex may have used it, I don't see why they wouldn't, because it's a cool name IMO :D Noted raw mackerel drop... Wtfh? Always buying: Watermelon seeds, 2K each. Strawberry seeds, 800 each. dwarfie76
Burthorpe is the name of a number of little villages (usually suburbs of larger centres) throughout the UK. Oh Noes there is a character called "Pete" in the game! Jagex has STOLEN the name "Pete"!

It's called an ALLUSION No, an allusion is where you 'allude' to something... funny that eh? For instance if they had called Camelot "Cramalot" instead, that would be an allusion. Homage is a far more accurate description of the practise of using elements from stories, mythology, TV, movies or real life and using them in your game.
