I'll upgrade to Vista when I buy my next computer or when they've released SP1 to it, it's most surely filled with security holes at the moment so it's not worth risking your files etc.

I recently got a new lappy for ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã900, it had 136GB of RAM, HD(High-def) & Windows Vista Home Premium.

Four reasons Vista is better than XP (there is more reasons however):

1) It's very easy to use.

2) Looks great.

3) Most things work on it.

4) Great security.

Two things wrong with it:

1) It's still a bit buggy.

2) Microsoft keep sending me updates that are meant for XP users. (Eh? Anyone else get this?)

Returned 10/03/2010 after a two year break.

How is that a reason that it's better than XP?

MOST things work with it, that means SOME things don't. Some things which DO work with XP. So, all these things do work with XP but some don't work with vista. Ergo vista is not better in that respect. It is a reason it is worse at this stage.

1) What bugs have you encountered?

2) No, never happened to me. What updates are you talking about?

@Parabola

Most of the programs you mentioned works, since I use most of them without any problems.

Not sure about "The Proxomitron" though.

Motherboard Monitor

GrabIT

Photoshop CS works

Process Explorer

The Proxomitron

Logitech Setpoint works

Irfanview

I was a bit concerned about Daemon Tools because I remember that had big problems with XP Pro x64.

I'm also concerned about Samurize and MBM since they're both very important to me and they both rely heavily on low-level OS dooberries.

Not sure about "The Proxomitron" though.

It's a discontinued http filter that is a very powerful ad-blocker. I could potentially stop using it now there are decent FF addons to deal with things like that, Adblock, hosts files and so on.

None of this is that big a deal anyway, since I will first be installing it on my secondary machine to see how things go for some months.
