warri0r45 Posted April 25, 2007 Share Posted April 25, 2007 Anyone else thing the umpires need to have their eyes tested, the umpiring could have costed New Zealand the game easily there.(and uit may very well have)Having umpired cricket - it's not exactly easy. Any calls in particular that you seem to think they really screwed up with? Umpiring isn't easy when theres a ball flying down at 140km/h+ and then you have to make a decision on the spot. The thing about the whole 'armchair umpiring' modern phenomenon is that we have the advantage of numerous camera angles and hindsight. It's never as easy as TV makes it look. Although wich cricket there's nothing for the person to do, other than agree / disagree with the call before they run through stump cam, nick-meter, hot-spot tracking, predictive ball movement... i think that's everything available now :-? Only problem is when you're out in the middle - you got nothing other than your eyes and ears. and... about 1-2 secounds of visual to make a call. Clarke knocked up a half Centuary Hayden was out for 41 if I remember correctly. I'm tipping the Aussies tonight (as always) to make it two straight against the S.
