I don't see what the problem is with telling us what the glitch is, if anything you're informing people about what to look out for so they don't get scammed. And if people do use the glitch, well then they'll take the risk of getting banned. But you keeping us in the dark isn't doing us any favors, and seeing how people are already using the glitch anyway word will get out. Apparently one glitch right now in dds stakes, as illustrated in this video is dropping unidentified vials. The idea is to stall long enough so that your opponent will die by the poison, however as you can see it is easily countered by opening a stat window: No idea if it's fixed or not but it's something to look out for.

I haven't read most of the replies on here but I thought of something that might be worth mentioning, which is that Blizzard returns items that are hacked in World of Warcraft. I remember I was hacked for all my gold and items because of a keylogger. I sent in a ticket and after about 2 weeks, 98% of my items and all of my gold was restored. So imo it would be possible for Jagex to return items, although this would probably add a lot to their workload b/c of all the individual cases that would have to be reviewed. Also the fact Blizzard is a much bigger company and has more employees may be a part of why they return items, because they have the time and resources to do so.

He wasn't be condescending at all, it was just a general statement, he didn't say it was good or bad or even mention anything of that nature. Actually, he was saying you shouldn't judge people on their hobbies just because they don't necessarily provide a purpose in life. Just like how you're judging him for playing piano and learning French. Perhaps you are misunderstanding what the word condescending means. adjective showing or implying a usually patronizing descent from dignity or superiority. Maybe you only read the OP's first post, but you should actually read through the thread a bit to understand where I'm coming from. His responses imply that his life is so much better than everyone else who is "addicted" to runescape, as if he knows these people in real life. Also contrary to what you said I'm not judging him at all, in fact I couldn't give a rat's [cabbage] what his hobbies are, just as the OP should not give a cabbage about what other people do in their spare time especially if he doesn't know them in person. Yeah but I'm saying it's not always spare time and even if it is it can be damaging for them without people always realising. I'm not trying to be condescending, I do think playing for 20hours a day is incredibly bad bad who the hell doesn't? I also did know a lot of people ingame who were addicted to RuneScape and I would've thought a lot of other people do, fairplay if they don't.. But yeah my life is better than my previous life, I said numberous times that that's obviously not the case for everyone. But it also obviously is for some people. And it's true I swear fansites normalise this behaviour alot.. And yeah that real pissed me off how many people say I'm trying to be condescending, I think it's pretty condescending to constantly write /thread or wanna medal or some standard repeated crap. I had a really bad RuneScape habbit, most people don't. Some people do, if you don't realise this I'm pretty shocked.. also i removed the bit about french and guitar cos it doesnt have anything to do with anything and far too many people were getting pissed off by it. I feel my time is much better spent doing those things, that was just a personal note i added. I was under the impression that you were talking about people who played 5-6 hours a day not 20, as mentioned in your original post. A lot of people play 5-6 hours a day and consider that their spare time while still keeping up with rl activities. It's good to see tho that you agree that your case is singular and doesn't apply to anyone else because it doesn't. And as such you aren't in a position, nor am I or anyone else, to tell people how to use their spare time.

You're right it is hacking b/c of the definiton you provided, but they mean the method that her account was hacked which was through recovery questions, personal info, etc which would mean it was "recovered". In a sense, you could use both terms to describe the situation and you would be correct either way.

Agreed with the person who said you sound extremely condescending. Tbh you need to get off your high horse, oh wow good for you you're learning guitar and French that doesn't mean you're better than anyone else. So what if people play runescape a lot, who are you to judge? Why do people smoke, do drugs, gamble, or do anything that is supposedly "bad" for them? Because they can. Not everyone lives their life according to what society deems "proper" or "correct", people make their own choices for good or for bad.

They should be trying to distinguish themselves from WoW (Resulting a substitute good) rather than trying to be like them (Resulting in an inferior good). Agreed with the Malzra dude, I've played WoW before and can already see a lot of similarities in recent runescape updates. Bonus Xp Weekend(bonus honor weekend in WoW). Nex Multi-Phase fight(Raids anyone?). Grand Exchange(Auction House? Although it's still kinda different but same idea). There's probably a bunch of other stuff too that I forgot to mention, but those were the main ones off the top of my head. Hard to say if being like wow is a good thing, personally I wouldn't think it's so bad. I think multi-phase bosses will be the future of runescape bosses, and if they do add such bosses I could see some of the mechanics coming from or being similar to WoW. That doesn't answer my point that if runescape tries to be more WoW-like then it'll have to compare directly to it (As opposed to a more indirect comparison currently), which is a BAD buisness strategy; JaGeX cannot compete with Blizzard. Well since both games are MMORPGs, technically they already are being directly compared to and competing with each other. Potential gamers will weigh the pros and cons of each and figure out what they wanna play, e.g membership costs, graphics etc. The point I was trying to make was that borrowing some of WoW's ideas would most likely make runescape more fun. Did any of the ideas I mentioned that are similar to WoW negatively impact runescape? I think a lot of people enjoyed Nex and the Grand Exchange, don't you? The two games have such different mechanics already in terms of gameplay, and borrowing some of WoW's ideas wouldn't suddenly transform runescape into WoW. Runescape can hardly be considered an MMORPG. The vast majority of the gameplay is done completely alone. It really is more of a single player game with the added bonus of being able to talk to people in clan chats and private messages. Only recently have there been true multiplayer activities such as dungeoneering and Nex. Also, Nex can't be compared to WoW's raids as she is frankly much simpler than most of WoW's bosses. And the Auction House and the Grand Exchange work very, very differently. But yeah, no matter what Jagex does, Runescape can't make itself a WoW clone. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree then, in that I think runescape is an MMORPG whereas you think it isn't. I think the fact that the slogan of runescape, "World's most popular Free MMORPG", is in big letters on the homepage for a reason. Also notice that I never said the GE or other such examples are exactly the same as WoWs, I said they're similar. Nex may be simpler than most of WoWs bosses, but the fact that it's one of the hardest bosses in runescape currently says something. I used Nex as a comparison to WoW's bosses simply because she is a multi-phase fight, and I think this is where the future of Runescape bosses lies. In my mind this would be the best way to make bosses more complex and challenging than the simple attack-eat food, repot tactics. Thankfully we don't have the need for dedicated tanks, healers, in addition to DPS for bosses. All you need to do is DPS and bring your own food. But even here, you can see that Jagex has tried to use the idea of class roles e.g tanks in dungeoneering.

Sounds exactly like my old WoW friends back when I played. The best players in our guild (which was one of the better ones on the server/battlegroup) all had major depression issues offline. I am not sure what the cause of your problems but I can tell you that all my old WoW friends did improve after quitting. I know you said real life is just as hard on you but maybe if you put the dedication into something - I hate to use this term - "real", that it will help you feel better about yourself. Like one of the guys on WoW that was major depressed was someone that was an amazing basketball player in college and broke his leg really badly and found wow and now is a fat depressed guy who lost his future, when he finally quit he obviously still couldnt run or have the same physical abilities pre-injury but he did manage to get back into shape and get back into school and end up a hell of a lot more happier. If you dont wanna quit, dont quit, I dont know you at all and this may all be irrelevant but consider what it is that is getting you down and try and fix it I just dont have any motivation to do anything outside this house. I would work if I could, but I just have so much anxiety and depression that it overpowers me. I did try a job once in September 2009 as a bagger at grocery store. I was panicing and shaking so bad I almost ran out the door in a total panic. When I got home I sobbed all night and just couldnt go back. That's why I can't get a job. RS has gone downhill too but I still have a little bit left to keep myself going. I am actually not fat at all. Quite the opposite actually. I eat very little because I dislike eating. I am extremely picky. So I'd rather go hungry. I only weigh 115 pounds and I'm an inch under 6 feet. I have no idea why I'm sharing all this with everyone. But I feel it will help me get through this crap and make myself want to live. If I start to post too much and get too off topic of the thread, tell me to stop. Dang dude, you should eat more! 115lbs at just under 6 feet is extremely skinny man, eat more you will feel healthier, and workout too. Do you go to the gym at all? If not you should consider starting, it will help you relieve the stress, and also make you healthier and stronger. Other than that my advice would be to not take runescape or any other game for that matter so seriously. You can't center your life around runescape, and at the end of the day you have to realize it for what it is, which is a video game. Play it for fun, but don't make it the only part of your day. Try and find some other hobbies that you enjoy :) At the end of the day people care about you dude, think of your family, your parents, your friends, all of whom would miss you greatly if you were not there by their side.

If they did raise the level caps to 120, what do you guys think would happen to those with 200m XP in a skill? Would they automatically become level 120? Or would lvl 120 require more than 200m XP?

zezima hasnt quit yet :P Oh yeah dude you're right! I remember seeing him training dungeoneering in w148. Still tho, he's not as hardcore about rs as he once was.

To be honest I would say Zezima quitting would have to be the biggest "end of an era" player, does anyone remember how long he was rank #1 for? It was pretty insane the run he had lol he was always atop the highscores. Anyway, Zarfot had some really good guides; I remember using his "Mega Slayer Guide" because it was so detailed and informative. But seriously tho, Zarfot was like the definition of an efficiency freak. Not that that's a bad thing I think it's good; in my mind he will be remembered as the dude that didn't mess around when it came to using time effectively.
