  1. So, this sounds strangely like the original pking system. Oh yeah, it is, except without caps on what levels you can battle.
  2. 2^32 is 4294967296. You're doing 2^34. And as they have all said, its just how it caps it out. I don't see why it isnt capped at 4.3 bil instead of 2.1. Being as nothing in Runescape goes negative, theres no reason to have a set of negative values as it does now. Cause usually when its 2^15 or 2^31 thats cause it has a set of negative numbers as well.
  3. At the beginning there was no duel. Then wilderness came along. Then duel was added so people could duel anywhere. Then duel arena. Nowadays, it's too easy to mass kill people, imagine an Ancient Mage... Besides, bank's were always safespots. Furthermore, the guards would attack those who were fighting, course, that's useless now.
  4. yea rofl...when I started, in order to mine, you sat next to the coal rocks and clicked as fast as you could on them repeatidly (I used a technique of locking my fingers and trying to move them which makes your fingers spasm and lets you click real fast...but it makes it painful to mine for real long)...fortunately now you simply mine until you get the ore (my poor rsc abused hands :( ). You think that was bad? Before you had to click on the pick and then click on the coal rock. Every time. 2 clicks every time, and every 20 clicks or so you have a chance to get an ore.
  5. It's a pity most of them are poor merchants and only warp prices to the detriment of everyone.
  6. Furthermore, runescape was quite fine without the tutorial island. Jagex also created an entire manual for everything just as the previous poster said. Member are meant to be experienced and be able to use some common sense and so some fact finding. Jagex has tried to simplify the game enough.
  7. I once asked someone the question for the strength one. But if you try it, it doesn't work that way for strength. Plug in some extreme numbers, and you'll see.
  8. Uh, why would you want full screen RS? I personally prefer the window format so I can multitask.
  9. But that's where Jagex needs to do some of their own research. Newb is not the same as Noob. We were all a newb, only some of us are noobs.
  10. I'm not sure anyone is fully reading his post. Although there are some things like quests which shouldn't be purchasable, nor should special attacks, the ideas about additional apperance options are plausible. I find it ridiculous that people are flaming this guy when he has never said you can purchase experience. Please read.
  11. Skill Room-Having a personal anything would be bad for how the game works. This gives high level construction a massive advantage to not have to compete for resources. A fishing patch wouldn't make much of a difference, cause that's a hard resource anyway. A personal magic tree? A personal rune rock? Those may cause problems. Pet Room-That sounds like a remarkably good idea, with use of pets, there really should be a place to show them off and let them be. Store Room-Player owned Shops, this has been suggested many times, and many thought it would be packaged with construction. This is quite a bit of programming to do however. I think it'd be a good iea, but it might not be plausible. Farm Animal Room-This is implementable and not abusable, but I'm not sure how much support you will get. Armory Room-Don't they already let you set up armors to show off? Besides, if the store room is created, then you could just put it all in the store and have ridiculously high prices. More Rooms-If they did this, they would probably have a massive gp fee.
  12. There is no coal in steel perhaps, but there is certainly carbon from coke. I've always assumed that the carbon comes from the coal but perhaps there is an infinite supply of coke? Though in this case we are smelting steel so we are simply mixing iron with carbon, somehow precisely enough to make steel. It's magic I tell you. I can actually buy the arguement that basically any metal that requires coal would be highly unstable to reforge. If you think about it, assuming that each of the coal using metals uses the carbon from the coal, when you reheat it, you easily burn the carbon, therefore rendering the metal quite useless. Where as with gold, silver, iron, and bronze, the process would not burn up any of the carbon. Perhaps the higher level metals have a less chance. The chance to reforge an armor or weapon into a molten form to reform into a bar would be 1/2^n where n is the amount of coal. This calculation would run separately for each bar in the weapon or armor, so a rune plate would have 1/256 chance 5 times. Then even with the molten metal, you would have to reform it into a bar using multiple ones simply because the mechamisms are imperfect and metal would be wasted. I think that either 6 molten chunks or 8 molten chunks is a good number to use as this would only increase exp potential by 20% and 12.5% respectively. By giving even gold, silver, iron, and bronze a 1/2 chance to reforge into molten metal, this could actually be plausible. Despite my original opposition, with some good tweaking, this could work to make sense and be slightly helpful. Though perhaps I have nerfed the original idea too much.
  13. I'd have to agree, this isn't a very good idea. Jagex has created a system that works and gains them massive money. What this essentially creates is a multi-tiered membership system. However, I don't think Jagex is really hurting in paying its employees.
  14. F2p is a complete game. P2p is an expansion pack. Jagex simply choosed to do massive advertising so people will purchase the expansion pack. Similarly, you can see stuff about expansion packs if you don't have it, you just have to look for it instead of it staring you in the face.
  15. Similarly, if a mage or ranger dies, they lose less. The warrior risks more, and gets to keep what he has. The mage and ranger both have expendability. That would be the difference between the groups. A ranger can go out in less and be just as effective, same with a mage. Additionally both groups have range. Sorry, but no.
