Guide to Leo the Gravedigger--SPOILERS & Pics.

Leo the Gravedigger was a random event released in conjunction with the Hundreth Quest, Recipie for Disaster, on March 15, 2006. This event is exclusive to the prayer skill (a disappointment for pures with 1 prayer). The event has a total of 5 clothing items and two emotes as rewards.

The items and emotes are always given in the same set. That is, you will always recieve either :

-Boots and Shirt

-Gloves and Trousers

-Mask

-Zombie Walk Emote

-Zombie Dance Emote.

-500 gp (when you have full zombie and all emotes)

Almost all of the players with Zombie clothes and emotes claim that they got the rewards in order according to the list (boots and shirt first, dance last), but there have been a few people saying they got another paring first.

The clothing itself does not provide any bonuses, and if you should lose any item, the next gravedigger event will replace it.

Getting the event is easy. All you have to do is bury bones. There are two ways I would go about this, depending on the amount of money and time you have to spend on this event.

NOTE: These are methods that work well on f2p, p2p might have more efficient ways to go about this, but the basic premise remains the same.

A) The "$$$" Method

This involves going to a relatively populated world, and heading to an area such as the Chicken Coop between Varrock and Lumbridge. Simply buy bones from players here. Usually, if you buy for 10-30 gp per bone, you will get plenty of sellers. Keep about 50000 and teleport runes with you (incase you do get a Shade, Zombie, Chicken, or other harmful event, its nice to have a little "safety button"). Of course, something like an ectophial can replace the runes if you are p2p, but I doubt alot of players will sell bones for such low prices there. 50K Gp might actually be too much; I got all 5 Leos with about 11K gp myself. However, having more money will always benefit you, plus you can actually deposit money into your bank during the actual event (more on this later).

B) The "Poor Man's" Method

If you do not have, or do not desire to spend, the money for bones, you will have to acquire bones yourself. Often players leave bones on the floor at the above mentioned Chicken coop (as well as the Champs guild coop and the Dark Wizards circle), but usually you have a competitor who will either entice players to pick them up for profit by buying them, or simply run around picking up bones with you. Therefore, I would choose to go to either the Lumbridge-Draynor coop, used for the Sheep Shearer quest, or the farmouse near draynor, south of Falador. Also, another alternative is any cow pasture; people usually pick up the hides, and sometimes the meat, but very often leave the bones on the floor. We warned that these methods will be much slower than the cash method

Regardless of which way you choose, try to go on a crowded world; I found randoms to occur more often on these worlds. Also, while the Chaos Temple and the Bone Yard in the wild seem like good places, you have the fear of PKers there. Plus, I rarely got randoms in wildy (i tired both of them), and when I did they were always shades or Zombies.

Additional Tips:

Kill the Zombies if you can. Some of them drop lots of bones (I had one drop 6 b bones and 3 regular bones). Shades are your call, depending on whether or not you want to try for a robe drop.

The Event:

After you bury a bone, if you see a message a litte off to the side saying "Your name, Come with me please" and smoke appear, congrats, you got the event!

Note the comment about the mausoleum being used as a bank deposit box. The conversation with Leo explains this, but if you click somewhere before it finishes, you can miss that, and the directions below (happened to me on my first event)

So the jist of the event is to remove the 5 coffins and place them in the correct graves, based on the items inside the coffin, then talking to Leo.

Your side panel now only has the options for friends/ignore list, inventory,

log out, and music.

Also, if you log out during the event, you will log back in in the graveyard, so if your connection goes wacky, do not worry, you will simply start back in the grave.

Now there are only 5 types of coffins and graves at the moment: Miner, Cook, Crafter, Farmer, and Woodcutter/Fletcher. Each time the graves will belong to a different corpse; for instance, the northeastern grave may be a miner once, but then the next time it can be the grave for the Crafter. Therefore, the only real choice you have is to compare the coffin items and the tombstones for the graves. Personally, I first studies which grave was which corpse, then based on that checked my coffins and placed them into the appropriate grave. For easy reference, I have provided pictures of the tombstone and coffin for each corpse. Note that all the items and symbols in the coffin and on the tombstone will be spinning during the game:

Well, I hope this mini-guide of sorts helped out those confused by the event, or even those just curious about what it is like.

I will update this with the pictures of my items and the emotes sometime tommorow.

On a purely asthetic note, since the gloves do not make your whole arm the green color, many people choose to change their default top to a longsleved shirt. This can be done in Varrock, in Thessellia's Clothing store accross the General Store in the center. Choose to talk with her and ask about the makeover special. Changing the top will cost 500 gp. Remember, this is not mandatory, but will help your character's arms look better.

Thanks for reading,

Btw, Mods, if there are too many pictures or whatnot, feel free to remove them, or message me and I will gladly do it myself.

Good job. Although, one may bury as many as 10k bones, and not get a single Leo (but tons of shades and zombies), whereas, another may bury 1 bone, and get Leo the 1st time.

So, even though the chances may seem to increase when you bury more bones, it's still "random."

Your assertion that it's always in the same order is incorrect. I've only gotten one Leo, and it gave me Zombie Walk.

Point noted, and fixed. I was merely assumming that based on the results of about 13 people I talked to, but since special cases may exists, I will just list the parings you get them in.

Today I had this event held in lvl 97-98 wilderness and next event was again in the normal non-wilderness area. I wonder, if there are many of these graveyards so people wouldn't run into each other while doing it.

Level 97-98 wilderness?? Haha, anyways i have gotten the full set, most of them off fire giants big bones, and my inventory was usually full. Its a good place to bank your items using the mausoleum, so you dont have to bank so much.

That would make sense. I remember that a player got a Leo and wasn't teleported back when I got him. I didnt see the other player, but I assumed that he either logged off or you couldnt see other players in the graveyard.

However, you could be right in that each player get teleported to a separate graveyard. Interesting idea. Maybe, we should see if the area around the graveyards are different each time.

My first one was when I was training on Lessers in Karamja. I started then training on the skeletons and thought I should bury the bones. First bone I buried and I got Leo.

Next day I saw I had a few bones in my bank. Took them out and buried the 3rd one and got the random. Very lucky... or what?
