Gorilla killing guide

This is going to be a quick guide for great melee training. Why I know it's great melee training? I gained TWO! combat levels here in THREE! days. And trust me I wasn't no lifing, maybe 3 hours a day there.

Level requirements-

At least 43 prayer (60+ recommended)

At least 70+ att and str

64 magic (to teleport to monkey madness island)

Quest that should be done before going here.

The Great Brain Robbery- After finishing these quest you should have: 1) Holy Symbol 2) Prayer book. This is useful because when you wear the holy symbol and 'Recite-Prayer', it will heal your poison.

Monkey Madness- Well to obviously get acces to the island

RFD quest- At least finish the monkey madness part (barrow gloves recommended)

Fremennik Isles- For the helm of neitiznot (3+str 3+ prayer)

Kings Ransom- For the prayers chivalry and Piety.

Slug menace- For proselyte armour (Very nice prayer bonus)

Lost City/Heroes quest/regicide- dds/d mace/d hally

Equipment-

hwrhlc2.jpg

Headwear- Helm of neitzinot>Fighter Helmet>Berserker Helmet> Proselyte Sallet

Cape- Fire cape>Trim skill cape>God cape

Amulet-Fury>Glory>str ammy>Holy Symbol

Torso- Fighter torso/ Bandos top> Proselyte Huberk

Legs- Proselyte Skirt/legs

Boots- Dragon boots> Rune boots > white boots

Gloves- Barrow gloves > Dragon gloves > Rune gloves

Ring- Berserker ring > Warrior ring> Ring of dueling

Weapon- Whip/ Dragon scimitar

Other hand- Rune defender> DFS> Zammy book

All proselyte armour can be replaced with initiate armour or monk robes.

Inventory-

You can replace normal pots with super, but I find it a waste of money using super sets training when it can be used for pking and such.

Another replacement for pots is the Dragon Battle-axe, it will raise your str but lower all combat stats except HP and prayer, that is why stat restore potions are needed to get your att back up. Or you could att pot twice.

Also if you are a bit scared and it's your 1st time bring telies.

Getting there-

Well this is simple, you have to be on modern magic and must have:

A banana

2 waters

2 fires

2 laws

This spell requires 64 magic. When you teleport you will end up here

ehwrhwrhrhwrhhhhhhhbq6.jpg

This is your safespot, run up the stairs when needed. There is also an altar there to recharge your prayer. Also that giant monkey, ignore him.

Before you go down turn on protect from melee and prayers that will raise your att and str (eg. Piety). Also pot up in att and str and set on run.

Once your downstairs, quickly run out of the spiders wat ( use monkeys to block it off)

monkeymppo8.jpg

Red- These three monekys ( the one with beards) can block your path, like brawlers in PC.

Green- This part is where you should be standing and attacking. Although this is where thr spider normally hands around. If it does poison you, equip holy symbol and recite prayer then switch back to your normal ammy and keep fighting.

Black - This is where you should never go! you will get stuck and eventually die unless you go upstairs or telie.( going down the trapdoor is also suicide.

Praying at the altar-

There is more then 1 altar then the one upstairs. Between the two stairs there is an altar which you can pray, but beware, the poisonous spider respawns and hangs here most of the time.

Red- The stupid spider :(

When to pot?

I simply potted when my pot went down 5 or 6

When to pray? I prayed whenever I reached about 15 prayer.

After a while, the monkeys and the spider (thank god) will be non-aggressive to you.

Keep training until you run out of pots, dd spec the moneys and hit big numbers ^^

Think this was the end of the guide? Well no, here is how you make your money back.

Occasionally you will see a person wearing full dharoks maxing. The great thing is the go on really low HP. When one of these people come, the spider and monkeys are your best friend. The spider will poison the people in dharoks and perhaps lead to death. And the monkeys might end up K.O the person who is trying to lower there HP by letting the monkeys hit them.

Example, this level 119 is getting a monkey to make his hp go lower and the monkey hits an 8. His HP bar was all red, I'm thinking' yeah! free fury, d boots and dharoks helm. But he ended up having 1hp(I asked)

Want proof that this actually happens and it's just not ' OMG, HE NEARLY DIED!', Me and a few friends have acutally had these things happen to them, I got my pic, but I don't have my friends pic of him getting loot from a dharoks person who died.

Loot is in red(Forgot to include lobster and my friend (the one in rune)looted a fury and guthix cloak. ( The only reason I have m'speak ammy and talisman is because I bought a d scim there

THINGS LIKE THIS HAPPEN!

My 1st guide, rate it :D

ok guide

but u dont need holy wrench, that only effects how many p-ponts you get per pray potion dose, ad you using an altar it has no effect

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

Nice guide. Good layout with appropriate pictures.

One querie about the 'dharokers' dying. With the latest Lootshare update came a few additional 'minor' updates including an update that let players who were killed by a monster 1 minute to return to the location of their death and retrieve any items before other players will be able to see their items laying on the ground.

I don't think this will off put many Ape-Atoll users as most people expect to lose some money whilst training combat. With the lack of food needed, it may be cheaper in the long-run to use this method with the minimal cost of attack and strength potions.
