Yes you do and I know that you know you do. You told the owner of my clan "he actually owes me 2b because it was a 1b bet, but I'll just take the 1b"... Let's get this straight: 1) there was never a wager placed on me 2) you are a troll 3)???? 4) profit I didn't say that. I said I would have paid you 2b if you won, but you didn't so you owe me 1b. I'm not going to argue with you while you are trolling. You never placed a bet on me, therefore I owe you nothing. End of story. @above- I'm not saying that it was right when I sold gp. I regretted doing it even tho at the time I felt it was ok to do. I have been anti rwt since then and wish I had never taken part. Can't change the past.

[hide=Long Quote] And to add to that. A quote from you on the RWT banned thread. "I will admit in dicings hay-day I partook in selling gold. Making max cash+ daily in Mew2 and seeing my friends do it and get away with it I thought "why not". I thought I had sound reasons to sell.. Most went to tuition, but I did make two "big" purchases (custom desktop and iPad)." And a quote from earlier in this thread. "Please tell me why I deserve the mute? I don't spam and I don't use offensive language. Therefore I have broken no rules. As for being banned. I have done nothing to constitute a ban(scamming/rwt/botting) so don't tell me I deserve a ban when you don't know me" Nice contradiction Vann. Saying you've never rwt yet you have admitted previously to rwt. This is why we can't have nice things. [/hide] To clarify, I meant I'm not actively breaking any rules. As for that post on the other thread, I haven't sold gp since 2011. It was a means to an end as you see I paid off university debts with it and got a computer/iPad for class. Since selling I have regretted doing it and have been against rwt since then. I agree the impact of rwt on runescape is bad and where a lot of the front men for rwt are hosts, they only constitute a small portion of gp sales. @Hedge- I owe you 1B?

Out of curiosity, do you have the numbers for buyers? I'm remembering a time in mid-2007 where the mod team went after RWT'ers, and we'd watch players in the generic staker gear of the day pick up their gold and hop straight to world 6. I'm wondering if today's would-be gamblers recover from their losses by buying gold (Even on a higher scale - regardless of what Vann might argue, high level players break the rules quite regularly). Some gamblers may buy gold to recover from losses, but if I take a big hit and don't have liquid funds to continue hosting I will get a loan from friends within the gambling community and pay it back with interest. Now that's from a hosts stand point. I'm sure some bettors buy gold to continue betting, but that's no different than buying gold for staking or gear for pking.

@Polar- they have it set to auto mute just like when you say rswalmart. I do think they should announce it @Tansuo- I have enjoyed this game for years and still enjoy 07scape. EoC isn't bad for skilling (quick drop and such) but I'm not a fan of the combat. Typically use momentum when slaying or anything. The fact that they are tryin to keep paying customers but do hidden updates like this that ruin some players game experience is shocking to me. All they had to do was announce it and I would never have opened my mouth or ranted. Where this hidden update does improve some players experience. It is ruining a decent percentage of players in game experience and Jagex should address it in a public forum, not keep it hush hush on a mod forum or not announce it at all. Until they announce/address this I will complain because it is unfair to mute for not breaking a rule. I have nothing against RuneScape or Jagex, just upset with their actions the past 72 hours.

Logged on to do my spins from last night (went to the bar rather than playing) and said "H/C x2" in my own fc with no one around. Logged out and in and was muted. Did this on 3 throwaway accounts and all were instantly muted. As pissed off as I am about being muted with no announcement or warning, it's starting to make me laugh that Jagex is muting paying member accounts for something not against the rules at a time when they are doing anything they can to Keep members.

@Omali- again. Gambling is LEGAL and within the rules set forth by Jagex. If they don't like it then they should make a post stating it is against the rules or that it is a mutable offense. They should not just start muting or banning. Regardless of your view on gamblers, I have always acted within the rules and therefore this mute was unfair and without cause.

Really? Not even poker without any real life spending or rewards? That sucks. [hide] http://www.facebook.com/appcenter/texas_holdem?fb_source=appcenter and http://www.goonersguide.com/poker_rooms_accepting_us_players.html [/hide] American can play fake poker all day. And there are still some actual site that take US players for real money. There is no reward for play poker sites as everyone just chip dumps. And the few real money sites that take US players (Lock, Carbon, etc.) are sketchy and have 3-6 month payout times. So basically, no real poker in the states. Now there are a few sites (ACEplay, Attack, FUG, HWP) that give prizes, but my state is one of the excluded states.

[hide=quotes] You deserve the mute, if it was up to me you would be banned. Please tell me why I deserve the mute? I don't spam and I don't use offensive language. Therefore I have broken no rules. As for being banned. I have done nothing to constitute a ban(scamming/rwt/botting) so don't tell me I deserve a ban when you don't know me See the problem here is your completely ignorant to the fact that a large majority of players view gambling as part of the down fall of the game they love. It doesn't matter if you're "legit" or have never scammed anyone, you're purpetuating the problem. [/hide] As for being ignorant, I am aware that the game is split on views of gambling. But regardless of players views, Jagex should give warning before mass muting hosts who aren't breaking the rules. The reason I'm mad about being muted (and have every right to be) is because I did nothing against the rules. If Jagex made it against the rules then I would stop. Don't judge me for playing the game how I want to play it within the rules set by Jagex because I don't judge you for how you play the game. As long as gambling is legal I will continue to host regardless of other players views as I have every right to as a paying member (since 2005) and long time player (2001) since it is within the rules and terms of service I agreed to.

#1- ILU Leik #2- The ONLY reason I'm mad is because of the unfair mute. If they had updated the rules or given a warning then I would have never said anything. If gambling gets removed tomorrow it will not affect me at all because I am playing 2007 now. I enjoyed Runescape back in the day and I'm excited to enjoy it a bit more (until May when I finish university and get a real job). @Auror- I give the lyrics a 9.5/10! Enjoyed it other than a few rhythmic mess ups! Plus I'm a huge fresh prince fan! Peace, Vann

@Kramp/Tansuo- I know jagex stated in the past they don't want gambling but this months BTS said they were bringing in a poll to see about bringing "safe" gambling. And honestly I'm ok with this, even tho it will kill my "easy" income. @Thus- I have only made 100M since the 2007 release because I have been playing 2007 and have stopped gambling. I only log on EoC for spins every night. I haven't taken a bet in over a week. P.S. I hope you didn't hurt your face. Desks can be hard. @Kim- I looked at it and all that happened was me having a non-gambling related conversation with someone then mentioning I was a General in Flowers to someone else asking who was hosting. Never said open for any games as I was only on to do my daily spins. Peace, Vann

To repeat what I said on the BTS thread: [hide=My Idea on changing gambling] "I would love to see gambling change to poker (Texas hold'em, Omaha, Stud). Would make it a game of skill without requiring the stats of Staking. And it would be a money dump with the rake taken from every hand/tourney entry/SnG entry. A rake of ~10% on tourneys and such and a % up to a max rake on "cash games". Also, this would be a legal gambling method Jagex could implement. Would be no different than Zynga poker on Facebook. (Which plans on offering real money this year in the UK) Example: This past weekend PokerStars had their Sunday Millions. It had a ~9.5M prize pool with ~1.2M to first.... PokerStars made $740K in rake off of this. So even if its a small amount of rake, it adds up to help remove gp from the game in ways that BH, Con, etc. do."[/hide] As much as I do enjoy flower gaming, if jagex were to make it bannable or place their own version in then I would stop. As I've stated before, I don't want my account banned. Especially when I've not broken any rules. Personally I've only made like 100M since 2007 released because I enjoy the game. I'd rather play 2007 than gamble. And this is a growing trend with my friends in the gambling community. The only reason I'm so upset with this "hidden update" is the fact that there was no post about it and they are muting without warning. That is unfair and you can't say that it's not. @Krampell. I looked at the rules and don't see anywhere where it is offensive language mentioning flowers. Can you please post a picture? Peace, Vann

All the flame for me being a host and being upset about getting muted unfairly. I say unfairly because I did nothing that constituted a mute based on the rules set forth by Jagex. People who say "gambling ruins the game" need to get over themselves. Sorry I make more standing at the GE for an hour than you do Nexing an entire weekend. I host for the rush, because even with our host odds, we still can take billion coin hits in one bet. Gambling is an outlet for people to get the high risk/high reward adrenaline rush they seek. No different than staking. Only thing with gambling is no stats are needed so people can jump right in rather than training for months to max before they can stake. Also, you would be surprised at the number of "respected" people on this forum who bash gambling, yet host on alternate accounts to fund their mains. Or bash all the rwt that happens from gambling, yet sell gold themselves. I won't name names because its not my business and I'm not going to get muted on here too for breaking tip.its rules. Continue to flame me and I'll just report your posts. I am entitled to my opinion, especially since I have been directly affected by this "hidden update" and this ruins my enjoyment within the game. All I find fun is PvM and gambling but I hate PvM within EoC so now I only gamble and play 2007. I WILL NOT gamble on 2007 because I'm training to become a Pro DKer again. Had to throw that in there before people assumed I was gonna gamble in 2007. Thanks, Vann

Wish I could post my evidence now. They finally updated it 12 hours after the mute. I got muted for telling someone "I'm a Gen in Flowers". Just staying I'm a general in an fc named Flowers. Never mentioned anything gambling related. And Boom. Muted. Such a sad day. If Jagex was against gambling they could just make it against the rules and I know a lot of the community would stop because as shocking as it may be, a lot of the big gamblers have 2200+ total and don't want to get banned. But instead of making it against the rules, they just say they are making their on "safe" gambling. Whatever. I'm still going to host. I have multiple accounts I can lobby on to advert for my hosting account. Peace, Vann

Hit me last night. Complete Bs that they mute with zero evidence and without it being against any rules. I'm petitioning support from [email protected] for a free month of membership for my kids inconvenience of being muted for 48 hours for doing nothing wrong. Peace, Vann

Should trading EOCscape gp for 07scape GP be bannable?
Meh. I've made about 2.5bil EOC gp and have a ~5M 07 bank from middle manning these trades and flipping 07 gp. I'm making 100% profit with each trade. Buy at 1:200 sell at 1:400. It's a joke how easy it is if you don't scam. Being a dice/flower host in known fcs for the past 2 years helps, but seriously anyone can do it. Have a ~100M EoC bank and start small for a day (buy any amount 1k+) then slowly increase it. Make an fc with a couple friends and post on rsof. NO ONE scam. And once you get vouches you are golden. Literally pun intended ;) Do I think it is right? Meh depends on your view of 07 and the DIY/start over mentality Should it be bannable? If it was I wouldn't do it, but I see nothing wrong with it. Example: you have played rs since 01 (like myself) you worked hard for your stats/gear for PvM or pking to reap the rewards. But 07 scape comes out and you have zero advantage over players who have only been playing a year, no stats or bank transfers (other than knowledge of old methods, but this dies out with forums/YouTube/streaming). So you spend some of your EoC gp from Nex or KK to buy startup gold in 07 scape. Is this wrong? Should you be banned? I don't think so. Peace, Vann **disclaimer** don't say "you don't make money the legit way, you host flowers" I lived at DKs and godwars from 2006-2011 I love PvM and still do it with friends on a regular basis. Have I made a ton of money from gambling, sure have, but I enjoy the risk/reward aspect of the game. Same thrill as staking gives or putting money on the craps table.

99 all skills?
I know one of the top herblorist has profited a ton (Fudgy999) he was top 3 the other day but I haven't been on in 2 days so not sure. He had 3-4 friends(including me) merching unids, gathering seconds, and selling pots for him. Combined we made a few mil getting him to 69 for antifires. Not sure what he is doing now as I've been busy irl. Also, mithril was buying extra seconds we had and herbs that fudgy didn't want. Peace, Vann

@above posts. Yes. The house odds for flower games and even the old dicing games range from 12-20%. Much higher than casinos (1-5%) but still not scamming because of odds. People know the odds/risk when they wager.

Behind the Scenes: March 2013
Typical stereotyping. I've been hosting gambling games for 2 years and have yet to scam a single person. Yes, there are many scam clans, but there are also established clans that condone scamming and will refund any scam that occurs in them. My clan for example. I agree gambling has led to more rwt and such, but no different than stakers selling gp. If you want to see a truly legit clan check out "flowers". Thanks, Vann
