  1. I could see this one coming a mile away, so I decided to have a little fun with it: It's such a shame when they can't see their own scams through to the end. Kind of takes the fun out of toying with them. BTW, the blacked-out line was something completely unrelated from some random person passing by.
  2. Actually, the first or second time I ever died was in Barbarian Village back when I was still learning my way around. The other time being when a friend took me into the Dwarven Mines from the house in Falador for the first time to mine, and me getting owned by a Scorpion. While the Barbarian one was my own fault, the Scorpion one being more of a case of me trying to run past them to the part without Scorpions, lagging, then finding myself in Lumbridge PMing my friend asking WTF just happened.
  3. Your "revised line" also promotes a potentially endless cycle of generally abusive attitudes/behavior. That's the kind of thing we're trying to get away from, remember?
  4. How very creative.... freak Actually, I found it rather amusing. I'm still laughing.
  5. Fenkenstrain's Refrain FTW!  :P \ (It's stuck in my head even now.)
  6. If only he would've posted something like... Oh wait, he did.
  7. Havent you ever heard of a medium? :| Left: Stop it you nooob Middle: Thats really not a good idea you know. Right: I wouldnt do that if i were you! Reported. I'd have to agree there. In addition, I'm willing to bet excessive use of "n0000b!!!" isn't exactly helping anything. I mean seriously, people, it's not like beginning players can start out as a level 126 Player Mod that knows everything about the game, and magically alter their join date to be some point in 2002. Just chill out. Anyways, I agree with the article, though I doubt a large enough portion of the RS community is going to read it for it to do any good. Oh well, one can still hope, right?
  8. No progress. The only posts so far (other than mine) have been that complaint and yours.
  9. I'm not entirely sure, but I do believe your question is answered in the Crafting (or Farming) Guide on this site.
  10. Well since it is a series of pretty much random trades Falador Square seems the most fitting bet to me.
  11. Also, just saying you're looking for "training spots" doesn't help us much. Granted the referrence to monsters makes it obvious you want to train combat, but it's till pretty ambiguous. You may as well be saying "z0m6!!! m4k3 m3 73h pwnz0rz p|0x!!!1!111!!!!1!11one1!!!!!!" or some similar nonsense.
  12. Personally, I believe this poll is a tad pointless. According to what I've read, the post count had been around for a while and was then removed. The forums then went through a time without post counts before bringing them back. Now we're holding a poll on whether or not to remove them yet again. Honestly, what's to stop this turning into an endless cycle of "post count polls/tweaks"? Human nature is to be dissatisfied with one's current circumstances. This is meant to encourage continuous growth and improvement, but things often get out of hand in this regard (post count issue being a prime example). The only viable solution I see is for the forum admins and mods to discuss the problem, decide for themselves what to do with the post count, and stand by that decision indefinitely. Whining brats want to cry about it and/or leave the forums completely over it? Let them. I say each person that leaves over the end result is merely an invitation for that "void" to be filled by people actually willing to overlook such insignificant details and make meaningful contributions (to the best of their ability). Obviously for each batch of new forum members that join to fill that "void" you're going to have a few bad apples. This applies regardless of which way the poll/decision goes. It's because it won't make much a difference to me that I won't mind either way, but I would prefer it be removed so that (if nothing else) it would lessen the workload for the mods in that they'd no longer have to deal with post count spammers (and so we don't have to sift through their posts in a topic to get to something worthwhile).
  13. Rofl. Nice. Anyways, I don't think the thread author actually wants advice on whether or not to buy it. He's not looking for actual input, just permission to buy it. Don't believe me? Just read his posts throughout the thread. People say "don't buy it", and he responds with a "well maybe" excuse to keep the thread going. One or two people say "buy it", and he's quick to respond with "OK!". So aaquib5, since I've already called you out on that lets get something straight. No one on these forums can give you permission with what to do with your real life money. If you want to waste an actual $4 on a scam that's your prerogative. On the same token, though, we can't help you fix it when you find out you did get scammed. Sure there's a rant forum, but the only one that can make the choice (and has to live with it is you).
  14. The same could be said about a roulette wheel... It falls back to something I'm going to refer to as the law of equallity (simply because I can't remember the real name). Everything in this world balances itself out over time. Take coin flips for example: The first flip you have a 1 in 2 chance of getting either side. Say you get tails for that flip. The next flip should be 50/50 as well, right? Wrong. When flipping in succession, each time you get a certain side it decreases your chances of getting that same side on the next flip. So say you get a whole spree of tails all in a row. Each time it lands on tails, it increases the chances of the next flip being heads. In that Fire Giant example, the drops on the second run were merely the counter-balance for the lack of drops on the first run. It sometime occurs on a much larger scale, but the principle is the same.
  15. Pffft. Not even. A Rune WC Axe isn't worth 100k. He knew this. Plus, when you had 100k up he had up a Scimitar and a Longsword in addition the the Axe. He took off the Scimitar and Long after you said you didn't want them, and you took off a generally appropriate amount of GP. The fact he waited so long (giving him plenty of time to review everything) and then started calling you a scammer proves he's just another immature wannabe Player Mod. He saw an opportunity to manipulate the situation to have an excuse to report then took advantage. If anything you could've reported him for missuse of customer support.
  16. Down at the bottom of the page, in the section with the copyright info, it says: Note the bolded part.
  17. ...can't...find...quote! :wall: Anyways, from what I remember their analogy actually used 2 roulette wheels instead of dice, but it's the same general concept.
  18. The response is in. Since Message Center messages are confidential I can't disclose the whole thing, but perhaps this bit will help to confirm what many on this thread have already said.
  19. Actually, my explanation on RoW is (if I'm not mistaken) derived from a quote from Jagex somewhere on Tip.It. In fact, I believe I'll find it and post it here.
  20. For Innitiate Armour you have to complete the Recruitment Drive quest. It's pretty much White Knight Armour with a gold trim and a better Prayer bonus.
  21. Actually, my understanding of it is that there are, in fact, 2 "dice". I remember reading this either on this site or the Knowledge base in something related to how the Ring of Wealth works. The ring has absolutely no affect on the first roll. Once it lands on a number, if it's a certain number the "rare drop die" is rolled. This one IS affected by the Ring of Wealth, but due to just how many sides it can have it could take quite some time to get a specific item if it's one that requires both "dice" to be rolled. So say the first one has 30 sides. Then you only have a 1 in 30 chance of even getting a shot at the item you want. Factor in the second die. Even if it only has 10 sides, that's still a 1 in 300 chance you'll get the exact item you're after if it's a rare drop. Ring of Wealth helps some, but it can only do so much.
  22. That would be what I meant by Slayer requirement. After all, something as expensive as a Whip is going to randomly appear in you inventory or bank by itself.
  23. I see you edited in Whip. Anyways, the requirements for that are 70 Attack and either the cash to afford it or 85 Slayer to get one yourself.
  24. ...because the Abyss obviously can't be what he's looking for alternatives to.
