  1. From a fellow Tip.It'er, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! If you would like some extra fun, don't forget to drop in on the Forum Games! ^_^

  2. Didn't get much choice about those few days... bit of a head-on collision with family. :( I'm going to have to make my brain avoid misinterpreting that. :? 169 ~D. V. "Temporally Lagged" Devnull
  3. I got just one word for  http://www.gocomics.com/bc/2015/02/03 ... "OW!" :o 24708 ~D. V. "That poor guy! And, the reindeer!" Devnull
  4. Uhm, "sadist"? Excuse me, but did you perhaps mean "masochist" instead? :uhh: ~D. V. "Erm... Wha? *confused* ..." Devnull Sadist, term for those who derive pleasure from the suffering of others, i.e. making them do an alleged painfully tedious puzzle :XD:. What I'm getting at is that @Kaur is inflicting this on theirself. Therefore it appears to me that the word "masochist" is more accurate, as being a 'noun' is defined as "a person who is gratified by pain, degradation, etc., that is self-imposed or imposed by others". As far as I know, a "sadist" only inflicts on others, not on themselves. In this case, I would see Jagex as the "sadists" as they made the item in the first place, while anyone doing this item that they've produced would be the "masochists" as they're the victims of this situation. :-k What's your take on this, though? I'm still trying to understand... :? ~D. V. "Massively confused still..." Devnull
  5. 24710 I'll bet you were crazy hungry after all that work, just looking at all that sweet food. It probably would be torture for a chocoholic! ~D. V. "And now to fight my own sweet tooth..." Devnull
  6. Oh dear, I'm awfully old. I know exactly what you're talking about, because I've seen that episode as well. And it wasn't a girl, but a boy (Arnold) who was needing to put a point across to his pain-in-the-ass female cousin (Janet) the hard way. Good thing they got him back on the ship really quick! :o (Just for the source info... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Magic_School_Bus_characters) On other notes, don't throw snowballs at yeti-esque cavemen! Otherwise, you might end up with your prop damaged. Just have a look at 2015-01-31's B.C. @ http://www.gocomics.com/bc/2015/01/31 for the punchline! :P Now where's that number? Ah, yes... 167 ~D. V. 10. Need a snowy PSA? I think  http://www.gocomics.com/bc/2015/01/30 gets the point across. :P 163 ~D. V. "merely my opinion" Devnull

  14. 24724 I'm probably crazy, but that still sounds understaffed to me. :( ~D. V. "One Man Army situation, much?" Devnull
  15. 155 Well, either that, or a sudden infusing of some form of magic, or perhaps activation of some latent ability through application of a drug to their caveman cells that have such special abilities. We would probably have to ask the comic's original author, as I honestly don't know which they were thinking at the time. :-k ~D. V. "It DOES make an interesting mystery and question, doesn't it?" 17. 153 I could have sworn that they were inferring teleportation triggered by caffeine ingestion. :-k ~D. V. "At least, that's what it looks like?" Devnull
  18. 24734 <*high-fives Blaze*> WELCOME BACK! ~D. V. "And may the crazy return!" Devnull
  19. Okay... so scratch the G.E.-related part of the issue. It still stands though that if you use up things like spirit shards for summoning training, then there will still be some loss of your 'gp equivalent' through locked exp exchange and non-return of some shards via NPCs that break the summoning pouches back down into shards and such. If you're willing to put up with that, then enjoy... but I still see that as being unstable. :| I honestly still think that @ixfd64's idea of providing actual grouped currency notes should happen, however only with 3 grouping levels like I have posted as a possible tweak to this suggestion. Simply, it would provide a standard that doesn't have this potentially perceivable issue of vulnerability, and I happen to like the elementary feeling of stability that this suggestion provides. ~D. V. "I still see a good idea here." Devnull
  20. I can see I've gotten behind on this thread, not being able to keep up for a few days. Anywho, getting back to the topic... -.- Anyone here ever heard the phrase "Have your cake and eat it too", or in this case "Have your gp and your exp too"? If you train summoning, what you were using for a higher denomination of gp gets perma-locked into exp instead, unusable for the other. That in itself auto-defeats the ability of Summoning Shards to act as a form of currency, but then try tossing in the effects of the Grand Exchange, and the effects of all those new accounts being made that have those unwanted trade restrictions. Effectively, trying to set a locked value upon such a skilling item doesn't work, as the actual exchanged in-game value can differ on a massive scale. Plus, if you run afoul of those trade restrictions, it can possibly block a trade completely. In the end, you're forced back to an actual in-game currency, and that in itself is why this thread got started. So, having Jagex produce compressed currency packaging is actually beneficial to the economy design, given possible situations that can (and probably will) arise as gameplay progresses. :geek: Now, admittedly, I haven't played RuneScape myself in some time. So I don't honestly know if those Trade Restrictions are still in place for new accounts. If they aren't, feel free to post back here and tell, as that was one of the many reasons I left and I would find it an after-comfort to know they had been discontinued. :-k ~D. V. 21. 149 I am seriously glad Caffeine can't actually do this. Seeing it in Caveman times makes it scary. :ohnoes: ( http://www.gocomics.com/bc/2015/01/25 ) ~D. V. "WTF... Moon?" Devnull
  22. 24747 Nope... I got "Birthday Weekend Shanghai'ed" (in case somebody doesn't get it, read "Shanghai'ed" as "Hijacked") instead, including my previous Friday being extremely far from what I had originally planned it to be. ~D. V. "Can't plan for somebody else nuke'ing your plans, right?" Devnull
