  1. Couldn't agree any more. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/15194.html That makes sense. Doesn't work, for two reasons. 1) Geography: Look at a map of Ocarina of Time's Hyrule, then look at Hyrule in Twilight Princess. Link starts his journey in a forest in both adventures, so one has to presume this is the same forest in both games (strengthened by the issue Link's home is a treehouse in both games). The Kokiri Forest in OoT is to the north-east of Lake Hylia. There is a lake in Twilight Princess, and the shape of the river in both games is roughly the same (except in Twilight Princess, it doesn't pass through Gerudo Valley). The forest in Twilight Princess is to the south-west of the Lake. Given, it could be the same map, upside down. That would be a fair point, however, the position of Kakariko Village (beneath Death Mountain) is also out of whack. Unless something happens which alters the geographical shape of Hyrule (read: another game in development, between TP and OoT chronologically), the two worlds are not the same. 2) Plot: [hide=Spoiler on ending of TP]Twilight Princess ends with Ganon apparently losing the Triforce of Power. He believes the Triforce piece will save him from his death after Link defeats him in battle for the fourth time (talk about dead horses >_>). Yet, in Wind Waker, which apparently follows TP, Ganon is not only alive, he also has the Triforce of Power at the beginning of the game.[/hide] That doesn't link at all. Unless, of course, Ganon is revived and regains his power (read: another game in development, between TP and WW). There's two games that could easily fit into the series already, and we've not even touched the other timeline, or indeed, after the timeline so far.
  2. Isn't it some mini logo off a porn/funny video dump site or something? That's what I heard anyway. I don't really see how it's funny. In fact, funny things are funny because they have a point behind them. Most Internet memes don't. They're just random things passed off in an attempt to be funny. I hate the way they're repeated OVER and OVER again too. Rick Roll was funny once, now it's tiresome.
  3. You're both arguing over whether to have ham or pork for dinner (no pun intended in regards to the lipstick comments last week). Both of their policies are near enough the same. There's not really any radical differences between them. They're both promising tax cuts, admittedly for different groups, which they can't afford because all the money's being spent on bailing the US banks out of the hole they're in. This is capitalism. You do alright for about a decade, then it goes up in smoke and you enter a recession. This bailout won't do anything except delay the inevitable, and neither will Obama or McCain since they'll largely stay in the Status Quo when it comes to the economic system. EDIT: On a more optimistic note, Obama is now around about where he was in the polls before the GOP Conference, and Palin's rather heartwarming, if incredibly annoying, speech.

Oh yay. Now, let's get on with some Brawling.
  5. Hmm... we need to get going, but 5 points out of 4 matches isn't bad when two of those matches have been to Liverpool and Chelsea. Bare in mind the game in-hand is against Fulham, at home. We get a good run of home fixtures at the end of the season (Off-topic: yay for the Super League grand final in two weeks' time - I hope I'm there ;)), so as long as we're still around the top at Christmas, we should be fine. A point against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge is nothing to turn your nose at.

I would prefer to win the tourney, obviously, but it is unfair that everyone else's games are fine, and all my games (except the one I had with Zeddy, who lives in the UK too) are overwhelmed by lag. I'm inclined to agree with Kent that TL's ATs suffers much more than Ness or Lucas from lag, but that's really a digressed point (RE: Since when have I ever cared about reputation? Seriously). The fact is, TL wipes the floor with Lucas and Ness. That's not just my opinion either, it's 70:30 on TL's match-up thread on Smashboards. The point is we had no idea how bad the lag would be going into this tournament with trans-Atlantic battles, except for one battle between me and mano in the second tournament, where I was the only non-American entrant, which we dismissed at the time as an exception. It was a mistake to allow European entrants. The issue with me and Alex is that the lag was even worse than usual, presumably because of router settings (firewalls etc.) and ISPs. If we can get enough Europeans on TIF to enter, maybe we can have a tourney of our own, but until then, make an American tournament only. As far as this one goes, it's up to you Caxis. Either you accept my resignation (since it came first), or you say Alex's behaviour was tantamount to forfeiture on his part. All else failing, call it a draw on the grounds the fixture couldn't be played, and say we both 'won'. I'd be fine with that. In the meantime, I'm gonna spend some time on Smashboards, and if I improve enough, I'll start entering local offline tournaments.
  7. United were the same as against Liverpool. Played well for the first twenty minutes, but as soon as questions were asked about our defence, all confidence just seemed to fall apart. We didn't really have a chance after Park's goal. Ronaldo didn't have much of an impact, and neither did Berbatov, although the 7(?)-1 yellow card count speaks volumes for the referee. We have got to improve defensive-wise. Another quaky game without Vidic and Brown, and Van der Sar well below average.

No. I really could not care less about how other people feel about you. It has no impact on me whatsoever. I don't get kicks off "being in the right". I'm not getting a new connection. Forget any idea of it. It's not happening. It takes two to argue, so I'm walking away.
  9. What do you by "after all that happened"? You asked her out, she had some stuff on, you didn't trust her with the truth and you didn't follow up. It's not exactly a big fallout. Try and get back in touch with her and see if she still wants to know you. Then take it from there. No! (begins to feel sex-ed is the most pointless inadequate thing*ever*) You don't need to think about your girlfriend 24/7. In fact, that's exactly you shouldn't be doing. To do that implies you're somehow connected to each other by the hip and everything that you do, you do as one, in the same unit, together. That shouldn't be the case. Your girlfriend is going out because your girlfriend likes who you are, not who she is. So stop going out of your way to cater for her, because you'll lose sight of who you are and you'll fall apart that way instead. As for your "old flame", we all experience feelings we'd rather not feel. We can't turn them off either, so you should only judge yourself on how you act on those feelings. Now, it's not like you went on this camp, forgot about your girlfriend, and spent all day trying to get with your old crush, is it? You may not feel like it, because those feelings aren't going away, but you're dealing with them perfectly well, by not acting on them. If you want some ways to get over her though, here's one way: Write out a list of all the things about this old crush you don't like. I mean absolutely everything. You'll have trouble thinking about them at first, but once you start, you'll start recalling other things as well. Then whenever you feel anything, remind yourself of that list, and remind yourself about how your girlfriend doesn't do half of those things. That'll put her down, while putting your girlfriend up in your perceptions. See how that goes, and see if you feel any better. Seriously though, you've not done anything wrong, so put the hammer away and stopping beating yourself up. ;)

I tried playing the games. I don't get why I'm the one being victimised here. Twice I've said "Let's play", twice he's DC'ed once we've started. Here's my solution: Frankly, I don't care. I don't like arguing with people like this, 1) Because of the rules of the forum, and 2) Because arguing with this level of hostility just upsets people and gets no one anywhere. So I'm distancing myself from this thread. At least, that's what I meant to do by resigning. He's won. End of. Make a new tournament, I won't participate in it, you can all move on happily. Get on with it.
  11. I can't see how that works. I'm responsible for the claims they make? So much for the self-responsibility they bang on about. I did find this bit rather amusing: That's right you Atheists, and there's enough of you here - you're all pseudo-Marxist Commies really...
  12. I went into town yesterday, saw people playing it and it looked pretty easy to get a hold of and play. Graphics looked amazing, as did the gameplay. I certainly didn't see anything "horrible", I think it's just people trying to smear licensed games for no apparent reason. I think I'm still saving up for FF IV on the DS though.
  13. Someone should sue them for slander. I mean, it's patently obvious to anyone who even has a basic understanding of religion that Obama is not a Muslim.

Tell you what Alex, you win. There you go. I resign from the tournament. I really can't be bothered arguing with someone who whines everytime he starts losing about how the conditions (which are equal to both people) are 'unfair'. Well done, congrats. You're the champion. =D> See if it means anything now you've done it with me, mano, kc and Kent resigning. You wanna go prove your 'skill', go to an offline tournament, not here. You wanna talk about "universal opinion" - I'll tell you that the universal opinion of the SBR is that online tournaments display little actual skill compared to offline ones anyway.
  15. Only someone with an extreme case of American patriotism would take anything on that site seriously. The article they have on Uncyclopedia is just cretinous.
  16. Ginger_Warrior replied to Caxis's topic in Off-Topic
Sounds like a deal, but later. I gotta cook tea. It's 6:15 PM and everyone seems to have forgot about it. :uhh: For the matter, I just looked the SBR recommended rule list which doesn't apply here anyway, and there's nothing about spamming. Only stalling, and SHDA/'rang is not stalling.
  17. Ginger_Warrior replied to Caxis's topic in Off-Topic
Guys, you may as well give Alex the tourney. First time we tried sorting this contest last night, he stopped because there was too much lag. Now he doesn't like me spamming arrows and 'rangs, so he DC'ed half way through. Apparently there's a universal rule against it, which I've yet to hear of. Universal rules don't even apply here. At least, they didn't during mine and Soma's match anyway.
  18. Noooo!!!! You lost a few hours worth of information, which is very important right now... is it permanent? The 'dispute' has hopefully been sorted, if that is what you are referring to.
  19. Ginger_Warrior replied to RSBDavid's topic in Off-Topic
Seriously, just ask an Army advisor. They should be able to sort something out. There's a shortage of recruits joining the Armed Forces right now so they'll make more of an effort to take people on, even if that means paying for the transport.
  20. I find it's good if you want to get a general idea of the topic. There's no way I would have used an extract from Wikipedia even though my teachers didn't mind it, though. Once you have a general idea of the topic it's really not that hard to go away and find a source for yourself afterwards, either on the Internet or *shock* in a book. What makes me laugh though is when people do quote from Wikipedia, they always take the URL for the most recent version of the article and copy paste instead of getting the URL for that exact copy of the article. If the passage is removed later on, it could get them into trouble for fabricating sources.
  21. Does help if the puzzles in each one aren't exactly the same. At least Majora's Mask had different challenges, and heaps and heaps of side-quests. The way they experimented with the time, and have every NPC doing the same thing each day was epic. I wish Nintendo would inject some creativity into Zelda again. They haven't since Wind Waker, and that five and a half years ago. -.-
  22. And yet, compulsory national healthcare would cost too much, and Hillary's a stupid [wagon] for even coming up with such a strange concept.
  23. Ginger_Warrior replied to Caxis's topic in Off-Topic
Look at the year Caxis joined before flaming him. ;) I'll PM soma now. Sorry I wasn't on last night, I was out.
  24. I'm not an Atheist. If I was to be specific, I'm Agnostic, leaning more towards Humanism. I've never stated any problem with Christianity, just certain Christians who seem to believe either "It's my religion", or "It's in the Bible" are valid justifications in an argument. That criticism also applies to Muslims, Jews and every other religious group. Given, that's thankfully only a minority and the vast majority of religious people have the ability the ability to see beyond whatever their religious book tells them. Oh please. One Imam told Bin Laden that? That's like saying Obama's old pastor is mainstream Christianity. Totally ridiculous. There are not many churches like trinity church. That is one of the few churches in the country that preaches black liberation theology. Not even many black churches preach that. There are an awful lot of mosques that preach radical islam. Can we draw the line between radical and aggressive? 40% of Muslims in the immediate aftermath and the language following 9/11 hardly equates to 40% of Muslims being potential ticking time bombs, as is the disgusting accusation I've heard from some elements of the British media. Frankly, what's telling is each and every person with criticism of the Islamic Faith here has had to use tiny samples from the Qur'an or own research to argue here, instead of personal experience. I've pretty much spent my whole life around Muslims, and I don't mean one or two, I mean literally going to two schools where over half the students were Muslims. In that whole time, there has only been one person who has lectured me on not following Islam, and he was a complete psychopathic nutjob anyway - Islamic extremism just gave him something vague to identify with. Most of his fellow Muslims distanced themselves away from him. Apart from that, I've never had a problem. Indeed, some of the nicest people I've ever met were Muslims. I'm not suggesting Muslims are generally nicer than other people, but this notion that they're all secretly violent brainwashed zombies is just ludicrous. Maybe that's because I've actually been raised in an environment where I've had to get to know them and accept them as my colleagues and in many cases, friends. So yes, it annoys me when people talk about Islam like this when it's quite apparent they've never had any real experience with Muslims.
