  1. I'm told there's an EXCLUSIVE feature on the nose job in next week's Hello! magazine, RuneScape version. The lag is killing me right now, only 5 FPS. It's impossible to evade the darkness and consuming blood attacks like this. Might try again tomorrow.
  2. Oh look, there's still connection issues and I can't seem to load the game up again. Bravo! =D>
  3. Well technically there's nothing 'tangible' to prove those consistent player numbers really are players (as opposed to bots), or that Jagex really aren't making profit from botting. I could point out such intangibles until the cows come home, or at least until the new quest is released later today, but it wouldn't really get us anywhere. The bottom line is: We both have shaky 'proof'. But there is at least an insinuation that RuneScape as a product is declining in terms of popularity, and just like no punter would ever back a lame horse, no console maker would ever back a game that's desperate for the good ol' days to return. It would be far more worthy of Jagex's time to invest into console-based possibilities for Stellar Dawn, not RuneScape, since that appears to be a product that has a future ahead of it.
  4. I did admit it was anecdotal. Short of runescape.com closing down for good you won't ever find definitive proof that RuneScape is a dying game, by which point debating over it would be academic. You'll only ever get anecdotal evidence. But it doesn't really strengthen your viewpoint does it?
  5. [hide=][/hide] Sure, it's anecdotal, but it's not exactly the kind of stuff that changes my opinion of RuneScape as a dying game, or Jagex as a company desperately looking for a new venture whilst "milking the cow" dry. By the way, I'm enjoying RuneScape right now, so I'm not really pessimistic at all. And I've also been playing the game for five years. But carry on making excuses, you might be right. That chart would imply (read: imply, not confirm) that RuneScape "jumped the shark" in mid-2009 at the very latest, over two years ago.
  6. I see people all the time in real life who misuse words. It's nothing to do with the Internet. It's because educational standards now are so piss poor that people leave school claiming they can read and write, but without the abililty to spell or use basic words properly. The number of times I've heard of someone failing a university essay because they don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're", or capitalising every noun as if they were all proper. I can guarentee that's not Facebook's fault. :wall:
  7. There is also the more fundamental issue of RuneScape having jumped the shark. The botting problem only shows nobody has the willpower to keep this patient alive for much longer. Why release an MMO on a console when it'll only last two or so years and its popularity is declining before its even been released?
  8. That's never worked for me, though, because then I think, "Well no one cares what I have to say so maybe I should just stay quiet?" which doesn't exactly inspire me with confidence. The weird thing is that whenever I've had to teach other people how to do something, I find it dead easy to do public speaking because I know that they want to learn and and want to listen. Similarly, I've never had a problem performing music on stage. Yes I'm nervous, there's a moment when you're walking on when you think, "How the [bleep] did I end up doing this?" but once I start playing, I'm fine. It's the "Describe your most recent holiday" or "What's your opinion on topic Y" type speeches I've always found more difficult to overcome.
  9. If you think bots have it easy on a PC now, you haven't ever seen a hacked online session on the Wii. Good lord...
  10. Yep, just like you remember that horrid dry streak at Barrows but you forget the chest drops. We only care about luck when it's against us.
  11. One look at the RSOF says they are trying but for whatever reason it isn't working. I think part of the problem might be because it's a Bank Holiday weekend in the UK (national holiday over Monday as well) so I doubt that any significant number of staff are looking into it right now. See how it goes on Tuesday I guess.
  12. I can't load up for love nor money. Been having some issues for days but I can't log in at all now, neither through the RS client or the official website. It either whitescreens, or gets stuck on the "Checking for updates" bar. I figure if I keep loading I will eventually get lucky enough to be put onto a non-UK server. I've cleared the cache, reolading the browser and everything. I've also been having problems with Tip.It, both the main site and the forums. The banner loads up fine, the rest of the page stakes a good while to load up. EDIT: After trying and trying, I've eventually logged in. Just keep plugging away, it'll happen eventually.
  13. He needs some help, but that team has no spine. It's time that Arsenal realised there's very little quality down the centre of the park. Koscielny did alright in a poor Arsenal performance, while Djourou was an imposter from start to finish, at fault for the red card against the young right-back as well as several United goals, and also picked up a booking himself. Without Fabregas there's no one in the middle who can switch defence to attack. RVP is a world class striker, but if he's injured or in bad form, who next? Keeper does a decent job, but not anywhere near the calibre Arsenal need. Everyone else is a fringe player, Walcott included. Short of spending £50m on two centre-halves, a good midfielder and a new keeper, they are prone to results like this. Crawley Town gave us more of a fight last year. Also, enough with this young squad nonsense, Arsene--the United team today on average was younger than your own. No excuses there.
  14. ...Was I really the only person to look at the top left corner and think, "Those small bags of white stuff look a bit dodgy"? Congrats Leik, and best of luck to you.
  15. Did you rethink this policy, because right now I'm autologged in on my BB and a laptop.
  16. Anything more than three people and I can't cope, truth be told. Which is a shame because people who know me personally say I've got a clear and confident style normally, which makes it easier to understand what I'm saying, but I really do just fall to pieces on stage. I choke and everything, terrified. Which is why I do essays whenever possible.
  17. After a good ten attempts, I managed to log in. Looked on RSOF for technical support or some kind of information, nothing there. Very poor customer service, frankly.
  18. ...Perhaps even people who think Jagex own the best F2P game on the Internet. They're wrong, as far as I'm concerned, but this award measures quantity of opinion, not quality.
  19. I'll probably pass on the 15% since I can't commit myself long-term but I may as well use the BXPW to train herblore up. I don't really feel bought because it's not really a factor in my decision to play RuneScape.
  20. It would be interesting if a 'charitable donation' to Jagex actually turned out subsequently to be RWT cash. It would never happen because of the legal implications, but just to be facetious about the 'without negatively impacting on Runescape and use the revenue generated to make Runescape better' line.
  21. I don't think David Frost was anywhere to be seen in this case either. Silly choice of words for something that is totally innocent and didn't need mentioning.
  22. At 2:30ish, did you even check the room was a GD before attacking? If you did, why didn't you alert anyone else to it? Why is your Public on 'hide'... would you ring 999 (or 911) in real life with earmuffs on? EDIT: Realised at the end of the video you were C6 soloing. Why the hell anyone with Abd2 and Occ would solo C6 a frozen is truly beyond me. I like the format, but the content itself is incredibly inaccurate to what even half-serious clans would tolerate.
  23. If anything, this might be a good time to get void armour at PC while players outnumber bots, since the lack of adaptability by bots usually leads to failure in any other circumstances.
  24. Except that he wasn't an employee. For anyone who's ever done voluntary work, it's made quite explicit on induction that volunteering for a company or organisation is different to being employed by them. Frankly, if a volunteer was banging down the door about something that's gone seriously wrong with the company, that's a better reaction than sitting quiet and towing the party line if you give a damn about the company's future. I'm not saying Jagex were in the wrong here. They could replace Jiblix with [bleep] Turpin and it wouldn't make any difference--they can do what they like within the law. But as a company, you are always looking for feedback on the quality of your products, and if you're just going to take the positive, then it defeats the whole point of the exercise. If Jagex in this instance had spent more time dealing with the problem than censoring personal opinion with dubious copyright claims, there might just be a few less of them hanging around.
  25. Posts like that are stirring a pot though, intended or not. It's a mob mentality. In any other circumstances, I'd like hope that in the right board on the RSOF (probably Off-topic or as close to it as they have over there) a post like that would be permitted. Though that said, doesn't it risk devaluing the award when negative criticism from anyone affiliated with the company is actively stamped out, any mention of the other candidates is apparently censored, and the company itself pines for attention by asking people to vote on its behalf, including people who haven't played the free version of the game in donkey's years? This award has become more synonymous with a high school election (read: popularity contest) than a commendation for good games design.
