This article infuriates me, mainly because it projects the viewpoints of countless adults blind to what really goes on in an online game. Sure, all you do is point and click, but to many, it's rewarding...why else would they spend time playing a game if not for the fun? To state that these games are evil, is a complete misunderstanding of the game and to say that all children will end up fat and will eat so that they can get healed faster (WTF?!?!!?...that is for certain one of the STUPIDEST things I have ever heard, and a pathetic attempt for parents to try to limit their child's fun.) Who eats more in real life and thinks that it will make them heal faster?!? Has anyone actually documented this happening? I am beginning to think that the writer of this article, however intelligent they may think they are, their argument against MMORPGs is deeply flawed. As an avid player of RuneScape, I do have a particular bias towards my love of the game, although I try to have an objective point of view when I listen to people talk about the "dangers" of online gaming, but it seems like the people who make these ridiculous rants are just bitter and jealous adults who see their kids having fun. Also, a small sidenote to all those who claim that "no one should play _____ game online because child predators play that game", child predators are everywhere, there really isn't anything you can do about them... claiming that someone should not play a game because there might be a possibility that there are child predators who play the game is just like saying, don't walk outside, because there are cars on the road and you might get hit. Go ahead and say you won't get hit, people get hit on sidewalks and streets all the time, and unlike any of the points the author made, this one actually has a lot of documented evidence backing it up, so none of the ludicrous arguments that this author made hold any weight...
