And there's nothing wrong with it I just don't see why one theory can be embraced by the government while the other is shooed away by "separation of church and state". Drago, the government has nothing to do with it. It's the scientists and the weight of evidence that sees us favour evolution over creationism. Not only is creationism not science, it's evidence is miniscule and often purported by groups who are too blind to see that they are biased by thier religious motivations. Evolution is not a matter of belief; it's a matter of accepting it as it has the weight of evidence, objectivity, use and explanatory power. In America there is a separation of church and state. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

Twice a week, actually :P I guess you can believe what you wish. Evolution vs creationism discussions get no where. As for being taught in school, doesn't your school have a religious study elective program? Not that I've been made aware of but I'll look into it. Mind telling me all this large supporting evidence for religion? Even big religious buffs will tell you that it is based off of faith. The Book of Genesis? I'm more of looking for some actual quotes right now. I don't really have the time (nor want to) read the entire book of genesis. I'll have to get back to you on that as I can't find my Bible.

I do listen. In fact, Science/Biology is my best subject. So how can you not believe it, with all the supporting evidence in front of you everyday? I find just as much evidence in a Bible, Koran, or whatever as I do in a text book. The only thing difference between Religion and the study of evolution is that people don't come together once a week to pray to Darwin.

The problem is that I don't see why they can't teach both. One theory is just as good as another. I'm not trying to be a smart-[wagon] or anything but can someone show me some cold hard facts that prove evolution is a fact.

ROFL! :lol: :lol: and sigged. The church can teach what it chooses because it is a private organization and doesn't receive funding from the state. I just think that we should avoid teaching how we came to be. This way everyone is happy and all the arguing would be over with. But hey I'm just one guy with his opinion. I started this topic to so everyone else could post theirs!

If there were posts about this before (which I bet there were) I have no knowledge of them. Okay I'm a devote Catholic so I strongly support creationism O:) . In Science class it's always bothered me when we learn about evolution and I always get in heated debates with my teacher about the subject. I'd be fine with public schools teaching evolution if the taught creationism along with it. I'm not just talking about Christian beliefs either. When I bring this up the most common response I get is "People are offended." What about the people like me that are offended by evolution? If they can't teach one theory than i don't think they should be able to teach any of them. (I understand this is a touchy subject but please try to keep flames to a minimum. Please and thank you!)

It's because they don't think they have to worry about him trying to get in their pants all the time :D Dude, if it makes you feel comfortable to do some thing just do it. Who cares what everyone else thinks. Years from now people aren't going to say "Remember how gay that one kid was during school?" If you wanna sit with your legs crossed or carry your books across your chest go ahead. P.S. I know you're not gay I was just giving an example.

I heard this in a joke on SNL once but it really got me thinking. Say I saved someones life. If I chose to save them on my beliefs and my beliefs are not in my direct control. Do I really have free will?

Ok maybe I'm not being clear on what I'm trying to say here. I just want to focus on keeping the government from getting worse before we try to make it better.
