  1. Very nice and thanks for the data guys I'll get around to updating the statistics one of these days. :P
  2. Hmm that's pretty interesting, I've got an SGS I'll try this out sometime. Want to see how great the run energy update is for bursting anyway so I'll test it out.
  3. Smoke if it's cheaper, I've never tried it so I'm not sure how it hits on rock lobs but I doubt it's much different then Ice Barrage. It is 474.3 charms per 1k cast bursting and 613.2 charms per 1k cast barrage.
  4. Thank you and to answer your question, I've been told that when bursting the average cast's per hour is 550. So if you use my bursting trips which were all done using 3150 casts and divide that by 550 cast per hour you get 5.73 hours per trip. Then taking my average crimson charms per trip which is 914.2 and dividing that by 5.73 hours you get 159.5 crimsons per hour. Also keep in mind that you get other charms while bursting too not just crimsons (even though they are the real reason your there :P).
  5. You messed up going from step 1 to step 2. If you go backwards from 2 to 1, you cancelled out an a. That's a big NO NO. You essentially got rid of an entire solution. a^2 = aa, so just rewriting step 2 in another manner, aa-ab = 0 a(a-B)=0 therefore, a = 0 OR a = b In the case of your proof, a = 0 would indeed work, and that is the only solution (which is trivial)! ? That step is perfectly legitimate. Notice how I said "assume a=b" before my 'proof'. so lets say a=b=4 4=4 4^2 = 4x4 16 = 16 "going backwards" just involves dividing by 4 on each side. You didn't find the correct incorrect step mr. electrical engineer :-$ The problem is going from steps 4 to 5, in step 4 you have (a-B)(a+B) = b(a-B) you simplify this by dividing each side by (a-B) which according to the proof you wrote gives us 5 which is a+b = b. For 5 to be right (a-B)/(a-B) = 1 would have to be true. In step 1 you say a=b so (a-B) = 0. When you divide each side by (a-B) obtaining (a-B)(a+B)/(a-B) = b(a-B)/(a-B) your essentially dividing 0 by 0 which stated by the OP cannot be done. I'm a mechanical engineering student btw :P.

Was wondering when someone was going to mention the Fountainhead, currently the best book I've ever read. It is pretty tough to read, took me a couple weeks to get through it the first time but the ending is definitely worth it. Bought a copy after I finished it for the first time and have read it 3 or 4 times since, great book. Been meaning to read some of her other stuff what did you think of Anthem?
  7. I always go with life, I don't think wealth has any effect here, since it is only suppose to effect rare drops and when your killing a monster that drops crims fairly regularly like rock lobs I doubt crims are considered a rare drop. Seers will get you a few more kills but I don't think it's worth the risk. Dieing and losing everything when you've already been there for two hours is just awful.
  8. Good question and the only answer I can give is I'm not really sure. I personally always just finish them off since it's still pretty good experience and the ones I have already killed usually don't respawn until I finish all 9 lobs. Only way to really know the answer to this would be to test it. I think finishing off all the lobsters is faster but you might get more charms per trip if you waited for them to respawn once you got down to like 3-5 lobsters.
  9. Chelsea's own fault they lost should have put Barca away way earlier in the game. I know Drogba had left foot attempt he should have scored but the shot was pretty poor, few other chances they wasted too. Refereeing was awful but it was bad for both teams, they didn't really favor either so can't complain too much there. Feel bad for Chelsea I thought they played an excellent match and really deserved the win. Anyway can't wait for the final, think it'll be a great match, just wish my Gunners were there. :P

Here's a party drink some of my friend's told me about. Take a case of Natty, handle of vodka, and some lemonade powder mix and just mix it all in a cooler. Yea I know sounds awful but I swear by this stuff, tastes great, very cheap for the amount of alcohol you get and it'll take down a party unlike anything I've ever seen. If I'm out at a bar or something I usually just stick to anything made with whiskey or rum. Whiskey sour, Jack and coke, rum and coke are all great drinks.
  11. @ D Jay99 - Unique setup very cool, whatever works for you man. Also I have most of the weight reducing gear in my second setup in the guide. @ Dillingham1 - Appreciate it, good luck with summon, one of my goals for the summer too :P
  12. Gratz dwarve, well deserved. See you this summer :P
  13. Part1: Well it's been a while since I've done a problem like this but I believe the answer is zero. Your taking the limit as n is approaching infinity and since in the problem n is in the denominator of 2/n as n goes to infinity 2/n gets very small and can be said that it goes to zero. If you assume that part of the problem goes to zero the then zero times any number = 0 so the whole thing = 0. Anyway I think thats right but you might want to check with someone else. Part2: It's just a simple integral, take the integral of x^2 + 2 from x=1 to x=3 which is x^3/3 + 2x from x=1 to x=3. Then you have (3^3/3 + 2(3)) - (1/3 + 2) = 15 - 7/3 = 12 and 2/3. Hope that helps.
  14. Grrrrr at least I got a Onyx drop later :P. Gratz again R4L!
  15. If you can afford it I don't see why not but fury does the job fine and having max mage bonus is not really necessary, I've been using a setup to conserve run energy lately and have not noticed any difference in the amount of charms I'm getting. The shield is the best that you can wear but only an elite few can afford one or got lucky enough to ls one.
  16. Yea I just took the data off the info for this ( ) youtube video Muggi posted a couple pages back so yea it's most likely wrong.
  17. Yea well I did say it was rough, took the data for average casts used per lure (15 for barrage, 25 for burst) and did some calculations with some numbers I thought sounded right. Guess I'm just not very good at estimating. :P
  18. One of the things I've never really tracked, most of my trips I end up logging out and can last a couple days lol. If I was to give a very rough estimate I'd say 1k bursts could be done in 45mins and 1k barrages could be done in about 75mins but again these are just very rough estimates.
  19. I went there yesterday for the first time and brought verac's skirt for luring, extra range defence too. Went quite well once I figured out I shouldn't lure that 10th lobster, but had to tele after 500 bursts. I was trapping the dagganoths, and all of a sudden I was down to 13 hp after the range daggs/wallasalki owned me. Am I just unlucky that they suddenly hit me so high or is there a way to prevent this (I was at around 75 hp when I started the lure, and I still had melee pray on when I appeared in my house :?)? You might be spending too much time standing in the trap spot by the torch, once you get the rhythm down to the lure its possible to only use 3 prayer points per lure so if your using a lot more then that you might just want to keep working on the technique. Other then that you might have just gotten unlucky, why I suggest bringing a ROL, the wallasalki and range daggs have the potential to hit you high and quickly.
  20. I'm aware of how off the crimson for barraging data is... I wasn't given a vast amount of data for it and none of it so far is my own. I'm in the middle of getting 99 mage barraging there, finished one trip and averaged 360 crims per 1k barrages which I think is about right. I'll probably get two more trips in before 99 mage so once I add those to the current data it should look a lot better. The reason it is so off right now is because the sample size for the barraging data is very small and the trips that were done vary greatly in the number of casts used which causes it to be skewed. When I add my 3 trips of 2k barrages to the data it should greatly improve the statistics. As far as mage bonus having an affect I'm still not sure, my last trip I did using muggi's setup and averaged 360 crim per 1k barrages. Think I'll do the next one with max mage bonus and see how they compare. My guess is they'll be very similar which would make using the weight reducing setup more beneficial.
  21. Very nice I added it to the statistics and gave you credit for it, if you don't want it on there just let me know and I'll take it down. Need all the statistics I can get to make the data more reliable so if anyone else wants to post a after trip screenshot such as the one above feel free.
  22. It's about 10m exp and would take about 54k casts, which using the prices from 7/7/08 that I have in the guide would cost about 58m gp. No one said bursting was cheap. :P

  24. Very interesting, I really like that setup, it never occurred to me that bursting without max mage bonus might actually be just as effective. A lightweight setup would really speed up the trips and be just as cost effective. If I had the cash to go for 99 summoning I'd do trips of barrage with a setup close to yours and see what my data turned out like. Be a while before I make that kind of money unless I could somehow unload my d claws for 100m but anyway I appreciate the info. I'll get around to updating the guide with an alternative setup like that. I've considered using a bunyip before just never actually did, figured it would pull the lobs out and the fact that I'd have to take like 3-4 pouches to last a full trip. Seems like it would work well for shorter trips though. All very interesting, I'll have to get around to testing it myself when I get some more free time.
