Bird Problems.
There is also a difference between humans and dogs. You see, this is what happens when you set the example that differences are negligible. Let's make a deal. I'll acknowledge outdoor heat and indoor heat as being different if you acknowledge humans and dogs being different. And just saying it doesn't count - only realizing how bad of an example comparing dogs to humans is will constitute as acknowledging the differences. So what do you say? Oh yeah, shade. I forgot about that. See? The sun is an avoidable risk much like how house fires are. Like I said, you're only bringing up circumstances that could just as easily be brought up with house fires. Fires can and do happen while people are sleeping or at work all the time. And where the hell did you get your 1/1,000,000,000 statistics from? Fires are a big thing. Dognappers... I never even heard of them until you (an explicit dog fanatic) brought it up. As you put it:

It wipes it's [wagon] on the carpet. Hair gets everywhere. It steps in it's own [cabbage] then walks on carpet. It smells. When visitors come over it annoys them. Yeah, but those are only problems affecting humans. Dogs are clearly more important. ;)

And so the circle continues. Because dogs are not humans. You even acknowledge this fact in the bottom of your post, but you don't see how it's ridiculous to compare them? First of all, dogs are not humans, so going outside to see what it's like proves just as little as eating dog food or eating off the floor "proves". Secondly, cats look for sun rays inside the house and "sunbathe" because they like the heat. I prefer hot weather over cold weather. Maybe you just don't like heat so you assume that anything exposed to the sun must be writhing in pain and boiling to death. :P Exactly, a human's reaction to something cannot be equated to another animal's reaction to it. Just because a human doesn't like something doesn't mean any other animal doesn't either. This was my point. Theft can't be controlled? I like how dog theft only happens when you aren't there to do anything about it but fires only happen when you are there... If you are really gonna make dog theft seem more hazardous than house fires then that speaks for how biased you are. Not a very good idea when you practically having no one agreeing with you on this, bud.

It's also a risk to keep them inside because of house fires.

Tell me where in my post did I say or even imply that they liked being overheated. I just said it was a horrible example. Humans would complain about eating off the floor - something dogs have no problem with. If they are going to complain about something as simple as that then it's not a good idea to compare them. Humans also don't like the taste of dog food. Does this mean we should feed dogs steak every night and that any other food is wrong? Oh yeah and people don't like using the grass as their bathroom. Dogs =/= Humans. That's the bottom line here.

Didn't my post completely go over this? You can't compare what a dog likes/dislikes to what a person likes/dislikes. Really, we're just gonna go in circles if you keep this up.

That's a bad comparison. Humans are naturally whiny animals. Dogs eat off the floor and there's nothing wrong with it - they don't really care. A person eating off the floor is a lot different. Just because we don't like eating off the floor is no argument against dogs eating off the floor.

The only problem I have with outside dogs is when they keep barking which disturbs the neighbors. But if your dog knows how to shut up, I see nothing wrong with them living outside as long as they have some form of shelter from the sun. PS: It's funny how this thread got so serious all of a sudden.

Stuff you could NEVER get into
That's how I felt when Daredevil was released. Here we are years later and they've yet to slow down. We're probably gonna have a Captain Underpants movie soon.

Is God real post your thoughts!
My argument was never about the Christian god who claims to love us all equally and be fair. I also never said things were meant to be 100% fair, but rather, as fair as possible. It's more disgusting to let their suffering go to waste than to make something positive out of it. My friend dropped a pizza a few weeks ago. Normally, I wouldn't even touch it. But he said something that stuck with me. There are so many people in the world that wouldn't care what happened to the pizza - it's food. I ate the pizza. Does this mean I want them to be in that situation? No. In fact, I wish they could have the same luxuries I do, but they don't and that's what it comes down to. It's unfortunate that they have to be in that situation, but it's no reason to not appreciate what you have. There's always a bright side to anything horrible. You just have to find it. In no way, shape, or form does this mean you should make bad things happen, it simply means you should make a use of the bad that is inevitably here. I never said it was an excuse not to do anything about the problems. In fact, I'm saying quite the opposite. Quit with the strawmanning. You turned my simple statement of, "You can find a bright side to even the worst things in life," and made it into me being a disgusting being with no intention to help anyone out of their poor situations. I do think we should be charitable, but there is only so much you can do. I can't walk over to Africa and feed every single starving child. However, I can be grateful that I have food at all, no matter it's condition. That's the best I can do with their horrible situation. How you make this into a bad thing really baffles me.

Just get him to realize it's not as bad as he thinks. Show him research, statistics, whatever it takes. If that doesn't work then it's his fault that his closed-mindedness is ruining his relationship with his son. PS: Adam, you're so punny.

Stuff you could NEVER get into
This topic is about all the hyped up things that you cannot like even if you tried to. I can't get myself to like anime, rap, shoegaze, [any]core, baseball, Hollister, Halo, and World of Warcraft. Not in a million years. How about you TIFers?

And those who survived them. I agree that there are cases where the people suffering get nothing out of it, but you're thinking on a personal level too much instead of extrapolating it to a universal level. Not everyone's going to be happy, but this allows for at least some people to be happy which is better than no one. It's disgusting to be grateful that you're not in their shoes...?

It's the small things in life that make us happy.
