  1. Dear Anarith, Thanks for your message. In a player vs player situation prayers are not as effective as if they were being used against a normal monster. This could lead to players to believe that weapons can hit through prayers when this is not the case. It is all just down to the prayers not being as good and will not protect you as much. I hope this information is useful to you Sincerely, Mod Murdoch RuneScape Customer Support *********************************** On 7th August 2005 you sent us the following: This question has been floating around for a while, and I hope that an official response from Customer Support will squash the rumors. Many players claim that Verac's special affect also hits through Prayer (and not just the armor that is listed in the Manual). Is this true? *********************************** Sorry to prove all of you wrong and all, but it's confirmed. Verac's special does not hit through Prayer.
  2. "Also this month be prepared for heightened traffic to Keldagrim when the long awaited blast furnace finally opens its gates to humans. Only the greatest of RuneScape's smiths may run the furnace, but the dwarves are always looking for people to help power the flames in this magnificent machine. Bring your friends or pay for some help in RuneScape's first multi-player smithing experience. " A bump for Adam's sake, and to bring up an old discussion.
  3. Sorry RaScape, you've got your facts wrong, and so do the others who've held up this argument against me. Read: Protection prayers do NOT cut the damage your opponent can inflict upon you by half. On the contrary, they cut the chance of your opponent hitting you. Someone with 99 strength and Full dharok can hit 80s on you even if you have Protection from Melee. The fact that n64jive and xreemox have seen high hits with Verac's set is irrelevant. Until proven otherwise by Jagex, I am going to keep claiming (and rightly) that Verac does not hit through Prayer.
  4. That proves nothing, you could have hit those even if he wasn't praying.
  5. How many times must I point this out? Verac does NOT hit through Prayer.
  6. That was a little joke on the author's part. Dihydrogen Monoxide = water.
  7. Could you please explain that part again? It would be simpler put if you had mentioned, "across the bridge" instead of "entrance side."
  8. The 80% of the people who posted in this thread don't realize, that, for one thing...none of the members of the JaGeX staff visit Tip.it. For another, the 20% are smart enough to know that these capes will never be f2p. I stated down the reasons then, and they stand true now.
  9. I'll give you 10 million for free if there ever does end up to be a Dragon Warhammer.
  10. By the way, people, Dragon Warhammer already exists in the game. We know it with a different name: Granite maul.
  11. I think I was under the Dragon B-axe special (which bumps me to 91 strength) when I hit a 48 (that's two 24's with a Halberd special).
  12. There are a few, Oergg and Pirkka come to mind, they are Player mods though.
  13. For one, we can all imagine the ridiculous amount of Scamming that would occur from this. I for one remember when F2p players were selling "Rock" when that quest came out, many lost thousands thinking they were rare items. A couple others: - If they were tradable from P2p players - tremendously increases the problem of Scams. Members would sell the Capes for a crazy amount of money, and F2pers would actually pay them: imagine Canifis Gloves * 10. - Nullifies the need for all other capes, which basically is happening in P2p already. - Free players gain a huge plus, because they've gotten access to "cool" capes that they otherwise would never have gotten. This also gives them the veracity to ask for other updates, and Jagex definetely doesn't want that. - Also, it would lowers the want of an Free player who is on the verge of becoming a Member. Again: no petition is going to make Jagex quail. The only plausible suggestion I have to give is to allow Members who wear these capes in the Free worlds to still enjoy their bonuses. It would be hard to implement, and possibly won't be, because Jagex has probably thought of doing that already. But still.
  14. Not signed - Anarith. I understand that F2p players would benefit from an Update such as this, but it would create many other problems as well. Besides, no petition is going to make Jagex quail. Good luck.
  15. The one I have now is decent, but not as good as it could be, because many UBB formats aren't allowed by PHP-BB. This one is far better: http://aom.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/foru ... 20729,0,10 Last post. ^
  16. I stubbornly notice your spelling of the word "inferior." But, yeah, I guess "superior" would be the word I should have used. But the aforementioned works fine if I replace "than" with "to." Please don't kiss [wagon] in public.
  17. some people might not have the runescape option in paying for member fees or some parents might not allow them.. you dont know..i agree, dont look down on runescape f2pss.. Exactly. Wozza, you have no right to pretend that you are inferior than us. F2p players play how they want to.
  18. Besides, there are already more than enough restrictions placed on F2p. Let me list the immediate ones that come to mind: 1. No updates regularly. 2. Many skills not available. 3. Can't post on "official" RS forums. 4. Miss out on many abilities in skills available to F2p (Crafting --> Coif). 5. P2p get to rub it in that they get all "cool" armor when we don't. The easy solution of course is to become P2p. There is already more than enough incentive without a level cap to add on to it. If Jagex put a level cap, then they would be clearly be saying that they only want those with the cash to play the game. What they're doing now is smarter.
  19. Since Runescape is the game I connect Jagex with Runescape, I said that they would go Bankrupt. And you definetely agree with me, saying that this game will die out due to lack of enough players coming. Hm, you seem to have no argument so far. :) Then again, if you'd actually bothered to comprehend my post instead of being in such a hurry to reciprocate me, then maybe you'd have noticed that I never insinuated that you were in favor of getting rid of f2p. Not even the author of this thread was, he was merely suggesting something silly. My only response to this: "There are currently 58318 people [half of which with no life] playing!" Less worlds = the servers fill up faster, people quit the game because they can never get in. Quick tip: Realize that the world doesn't revolve around you, and salvation shall be thine. Just because you'd rather have "100-200 people average" doesn't mean everyone else does. I'm talking about the P2p players who realistically make their money by buying stuff from players in the free worlds. If the amount of free players was reduced, then it is the people who pay that suffer. Bottom line is this: If Jagex is crazy enough to limit the skill limit for the Free players, then they would be asking for professional suicide. F2p do make more money for Jagex than p2p do. F2p become P2p. F2p play the game more than P2p. Advertisement. I was commenting in general to this thread and many people who posted in it. Just because you feel the need to become hostile and *gasp* swear says something very clearly to the rest of us.
  20. Did you read anything of what Blackbane said? If there were no F2p players, Jagex would go bankrupt, period. Face it, if they imposed a cap, say at 40, then a ton of people would quit the game after they attained all they could. If the F2p servers were reduced as this one guy suggested, then there would be much less people paying = drastic repercussions. If Jagex imposed an even bigger restriction on things F2p players can do for the game, then the price P2p players would have to pay would quadruple from $5. No matter what, Jagex will always make more money off advertisement than the 5 bucks you guys shill out. If the free players weren't there, there would be a minimal amount of advertisements, and bam...You would see NO new updates that Jagex comes out with faithfully every week. You would see that you have to pay much MORE money for a game with terrible graphics. You would see that with no F2p players to diligently come out with resources, the wood, and all that other other stuff, there is no incentive to play anymore. Empty words = no fun. Good luck mining rune all by yourself, you'll be the only one to bask in that glory. :) Then P2p players would have to do all the work that they hate doing. Know the background of something before spouting off ideas from your [wagon]. F2p players have made more money for Jagex than P2p players ever will. Most of the ideas in this thread, even Wozza's, are pure idiocy.
  21. Mine beats them all, obviously.
