Wasn't sure what forum this should go in... I noticed today that the Esswraiths in the Runescape Runespan look more than a bit like Hork-Bajir from the Animorphs series. The Death esswraith is the closest in terms of colors but the color is not important. I looked for a good picture showing an esswraith in profile, so you can see the neck and leg shape, but I couldnt find any good ones. Anyways if you have played in the Runespan and you are familiar with esswraiths and are familiar with Hork-Bajir I think you will see what I'm talking about. It may not be an intentional homage or reference but its definitly not a coincidence, I think the artist who worked on the esswraiths had at the very least, seen a picture of a Hork-Bajir, or maybe had read/seen the Animorphs series and was consciously/unconsciously inspired by it. If you've never read animorphs idk if you can judge, but if you want to know what I'm talking about at least, heres what the Animorphs is. [spoiler=Comparison images here.] What do you think? The tail is short (but it does have a tail), and it doesnt have the prominant arm blades but there are small spikes on the arm. Rest of the body shape is very similar I think.

Adding free trade and old wildy back does not HAVE to mean that botting and RWT will come back in force as well. Why wouldn't it? Jagex could do what CCP did for Eve Online, attack RWT by implementing it themselves. Jagex can allow players to buy ingame currency through an official Jagex channel. Then no one will need to buy it using shady hacker websites that steal account info and use fake credit cards that cost Jagex money before. I know this sounds crazy but it's actually more complicated than it sounds and it works. You don't pay for gp, you pay for game time/membership time, but it's given to you as an item that can be traded on the market freely. People can buy it using in-game money to keep playing without paying any more real money. In reverse this means if you buy a game time item with your real money and sell it on the market, you make gp out of real money. This kills the demand for most of RWT and so it goes away. This is NOT micro-transactions. This does NOT unbalance the market. This does NOT stop someone cheating, however very few wish to cheat on their real characters, because of the risk of getting banned, or more recently, having your skills reset. PLEX in Eve Online Jagex would not be bringing up the possibility of bringing these systems back if they knew all the botting and RWT would also come back. All MMO's have faced this problem, and most of them found different ways to solve it. Jagex "solved" it in a way that was very unpopular and Jagex admits they didn't want to have to do it that way. Well.... PLEX is another way to deal with the problem that they haven't tried. And we all know Jagex loves copying idea from other MMOs. I'm not saying this is definitely what they will do, but they COULD do it this way. I would certainly like it if they did.

Don't be silly, Zaros isn't behind the door. That's ridiculous, obviously behind the door is... . . . . . . . . . The start of the Sailing skill. Duh.

subbss replied to Lady_Shahdie's topic in General Discussion
Can I see a pic please of what the replica statue looks like, as current as is possible? -
And thus the ban-hammer was brought down upon them.

When I said that 'the most efficient depends on an individual player's goals' I meant which actual method is most efficient to match an individual's goals. For some, the most efficient for their goals is not to sell drops from combat to buy the materials for combat, or other examples given by ford_landau. I'm just saying the method HE gives for being most efficient is NOT the most efficient ALWAYS, just for HIS goals. EDIT: "If you value things such as 'fun' (boring mortals, fun's a waste of time ) higher than being efficient, then by all means go ahead and do whatever you want. Just realize you are spending more time on whatever you want to achieve than you would have spent using an efficient method." What if the efficient method is so boring that it would never happen so the choice is fun way or never achieve your goal? The more efficient method then, taking into effect your own inefficient brain (if you want to call it that), the fun way is the more efficient way as the alternative is NO progress. It's a bit of a stretch I know, it's a separate point entirely, I DO understand what efficiency means.

Am I self-sufficient? Yes, very much so. I have not spent a penny on farming, prayer, fletch, magic, cooking, fm, craft, or smithing. I do buy water-filled vials for herblore but I do not buy herbs or seconds (I don't count eye of newt from the shop). The only other thing I buy that I could get myself is pure ess. I did used to mine it for years until the quantities I needed to make the quantities of runes I needed were unpractical to mine anymore. I buy things from GE when I need an odd item for a clue or a quest. Also I do buy from the GE weapons and armor I can't get from a drop (too rare or too dangerous). I really hate the idea of selling drops (say... ranarr seeds for example) or products (like prayer potions) I get that I'm going to have to buy back from the GE later when I want to train another skill when I could have just kept the materials in the first place. @ford_landau If your goal is to gain combat related xp like slayer efficiently, certainly what you describe is faster xp. However if someone's goal is to unlock the ability to make a high level potion like saradomin brew, selling all the herb and herb seed drops from combat and buying potions is not efficient. There are many more examples like this. If you only want food to do more combat or pk then making money the most efficient method you can and buying food is better than fishing and/or cooking it. Again however, if your GOAL is to unlock the ability to fish and cook sharks for example, AND do combat, then fishing and cooking your own food and then using that food to train (assuming it isn't too low level food) is the obvious choice to me. So you are correct in some ways. However the "most efficient" DOES depend on the individual player's goals. Some people play Runescape to train skills and not just to do combat and make money. As several people have stated though, efficiency is irrelevant because Runescape is a game and you do what is fun, the most efficient way is not always the most fun, even if it helps your character more in the long run, which it may or may not. P.S. Ending game content earlier is not necessarily a good idea and certainly not everyone's goal, the journey is the fun part for many. :)

I'm tired but I'll say I agree quests from the last few years have had much better music than the old basic tracks that play when you walk through towns and roads. My Favs: Zombiism Alternative Root The Sound of Guthix Other good ones I have written down: The Throne of Bandos Have an ice day We are the Fairies Isle of Everywhere Impetuous Grip of the Talon Garden of Autumn Fire and Brimstone Find My Way Volcanic Vikings Every 6 months or so when I'm bored I'll go in order playing every song in the list until I fall asleep, writing down good ones as I go, then playing them back later and removing ones that aren't as good as I thought. So those ^^ tracks should be pretty nice. I trust my list. Tell me if you like those too.

Thank you very much for the quick response! I will try it when I get to 64 herblore (unless I can manage to find a Greenman's ale (m) lol). \

Would Greenman's ale work to meet the requirements for the While Guthix Sleeps quest if I was level 64 herblore? Currently I am level 62 herblore but this idea just occurred to me, would it work? I have never spent money buying herbs or seconds before, its not in my nature. However quests are important to me and I am about to start buying ingredients in order to quickly level up to 65. It would mean a lot to me to finish the quest before the year ends... also I want to make some money off the dragon armor shard reward but I fear by the time I finish it won't be worth much... P.S. I am going to end up getting 65 herblore anyways, but if I can do the quest with Greenman's ale I could spend less actual money and train 64-65 the normal way and take my time.

I feel silly making a thread for this, but I was cleaning my bank and decided to high-alch my doctor's gown and got 24gp and then looked the item up in tip.its database for fun and noticed you have no alch value listed. So there you go. Item: Doctors Gown High-alch: 24gp Current entry for high-alch: 0gp

I have a treat for all of you! It's your lucky day! I just happen to LOVE RS history and have been stockpiling screen shots for years. I will post more later, but let me start off with giving you my most prized possession. [hide] [/hide] I'm sorry I don't know the exactly when this is from. The image on my computer is just named "runescape_map.jpg" instead of the month and year it's from like most rs maps. Yep, I was actually playing when this map was released. Have fun trying to figure out when it's from. You could try by checking the dates of when things that are not on the map were released. Stare at the map, it might take you a minute or five to realize all the things that are missing. Let me help you out... --No morytania, elf lands, troll or ice areas, castle wars, duel arena, most of the desert, no fremmy area or fremmy related isles...

The treasure room monster "Tok-xil" (85 construction to build) is listed as being 90 combat when in fact it is level 135 combat. It says it in the knowledge base and I have a screen shot if you want it. I posted about the treasure room monster's combat lvls being wrong a long time ago and you have fixed the demon and the dagannoth, just one more left to fix :). I know people like me who are trying to make a decision to spend millions on a monster don't want to be misinformed :). Ok, one more thing. The knowledge base does NOT list the combat levels of the dungeon corridor/stair/oubliette guards (outside the cage) and I think it would be a very useful thing to list in the construction table in the same manner as the treasure room monsters. ** These are the ones I know for SURE because I have had them in my house. ?? These I have seen in another person's house but not 100% sure of the level. ** Skeleton guard - combat 22 ** Guard dog - cmb 44 ?? Hobgoblin guard - 42 ** Baby red dragon - cmb 65 ** Huge spider - cmb 81 ?? Troll guard - 90 ?? Hellhound - 122
