You should come where I live, no one cares when you start to dinrk, and at any parties there's always someone already drinking! That's what being Acadian is, you drink when you want and no one asks questions! It shows :twss: I really meant Acadian and not Canadian though. Also that's what the flag in my avatar is, the Acadian flag, not the French flag.

Get her to call the cops, or take pictures and talk to witnesses and sue the hell out of him. If parents don't want to do anything she can call herself or you can help her with the stuff.

Most of them I've been introduced to by other people. My french teacher is rather old and has had us watch many of the older ones (Jean de Florette, Le retour de Martin Guerre, La Gloire de mon père, Au revoir les enfants, Les diaboliques). For a project on French New Wave cinema for my film class we had to watch: Les quatre cents coups, À bout de souffle, and Week End. Some of them I know because of the unit for film we did on Palme d'Or winners: Entre les murs (2008), La symphonie pastorale (1946), also Persepolis won the Jury Prize in 2007. La pianiste and Belle de jour I watched for a documentary I had to write on sex and nudity in cinema :???: . Amélie and Il y a longtemps que je t'aime (screened as I've Loved You So Long in English countries) are recent movies that did well in American theaters too, if I remember correctly. Many of them are slightly obscure, artsy things that people who aren't film snobs wouldn't necessarily be drawn to, but my film teacher is super picky. Also, I don't watch many Québécois movies because I find the accent hard to understand, having learned very traditional Académie française French. We have one substitute who sometimes subs for our French teacher who is from Montreal and I basically can't understand a thing she says in French or English. I agree, the Québécois are pretty hard to understand, but from an Acadian standpoint, speaking both English and French is a need depending on where you live, especially the Canadian Maritimes. Funny fact: The Québécois think I come from France, and the Français think I come from Québec. Just because the Acadian French is the Old French, which means that all it has in common with Québec or France French is the base.

10cm of snow and 10mm of freezing rain later: I'm still going to that NYE party, I just have to be very careful when driving. They expect that to turn back to snow later tonight and continue in the morning. I hate bad temperature. Anyway, another hour before I go (it's 8:12PM here currently).

Why not just call home and have a parent get you guys? That's what I usually do on NYE since no one wants to be the DD. Also I may be lucky since I'm 24 and my parents don't mind me calling in the middle of the night to get me, since they support the fact that I never drink and drive. Also there are no cabs in my town.

Went to buy a 26oz of rum for NYE, probably going to drink it all as well (well, rum and coke, and very strong) like I did 2 years ago. Apparently I didn't even appear that drunk, and that surprised me when I was told that, I remember all of it and I remember being drunk like I had never been as well. I'll see what happens I guess. I never drink like that, but when it's NYE I always drink more than what I usually do in parties like that. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that it's at a party that one of my friends does each year, and it got pretty big in the last years with over 30 people at the party. Also, I haven't seen Nadril in a while.

Somehow French is my mother tongue and I've never heard of most of those movies. Probably because when I listen to movies filmed in french, they're Quebec movies rather than France movies or something, not sure.

I agree, the week between Christmas and new year's is excruciatingly boring this year. Looks like I might be going back to my apartment the 3rd or 4rth of Jan instead of the 8th like originally planned. Same here. The only brands I see at my school are Beats, and the generic Apple or Sony earbuds. I see so many people walking around campus with Beats or Skull Candy headphones. I usually just chuckle a little to myself. I have a nice pair of Audio-Technica's that will never see the outdoors. It's about listening to high quality music, not a fashion statement. Unfortunately, most people don't get that. I agree, and most of my things I got for the use of it, not for the fashion statement. Also the fact that my headphones is a Logitech USB headphones beat the quality you find on the basic desktop/laptop motherboard jacks.

My thought's on this is that if it was just the conservative government we'd be good, but it's harper's government and he's destroying some of the good things Canada has.

I find it funny how I've never seen Sennheiser headphones but it's all I see on these forums. I guess I'm just fine with my logitech headphones.

Have you tried unplugging and plugging back your router/modem?

It depends on what hardware you have on your computer, but it can take up to an hour. if it's there and stays there for a couple of hours, you're in trouble. Have you tried to install it without the internet connection plugged in?

Just to point out that you might run out of space pretty fast if you go with 60GB since Win 7 takes a lot of it already, even if you install your programs on another drive.

Well, I'm sorry to say, but with my currently limited free time, and the fact that my building has been griefed, it looks like the only reason I'll be logging in in the server for a while is the hogwarts castle, which is a really awesome build.

Not just tv, but some movies you might have already seen in English, that can help you. Video games as well can help you, if they have a french version on the same disc as the English version. Video games and movies are actually some things that helped me learn English faster.

I also prefer Asus. Although I don't have Asus monitors (except for my Asus laptops) these monitors seem quite expensive for the size. They are good brands and I'd still suggest them. The only thing is that Samsung seems to lack quality lately, from experience and some reviews I've seen on some of their TVs.

They didn't leave on a cliffhanger, because apparently it's the last of the Modern Warfare series. I guess the next IW CoD will be with another name, probably starting another series. I haven't verified this information, but it looks like it would be possible.
