Thing I do is I don't update when I'm on a stable release of nightly, but don't forget that it's an Alpha version of Firefox (which btw is much more stable than the current Firefox for other people reading this).

Are you sure the front one is plugged correctly on the motherboard? As in the right place.

Where did you take the driver to update it? If it isn't on the HP/Compaq website, I would go and download it from there.

Are your graphics card drivers and Java up to date?

It's most likely software, if it just stopped working like that. Is it possible that you didn't try a restart before taking your pc appart? Sometimes it's just a driver crash.

If it works for you, great, but when it gives you temperatures that are something like -0 and 131 Celsius, there is obviously something wrong with the readings.

Being at my parent's place and not being host all the time really improved my experience of the game. Looks like I'm going to downgrade my own internet connection so that I don't run into lag compensation since with my 15Mb/s I keep getting host and it annoys the hell out of me.

I think it's a bit early for it to be having these issues. My car is 10 years old, and I passed the 298 000Km mark today and it still runs without any issues. I did have to put some repairs on it, but never much. Most expensive thing that is going to need replacing soon is the clutch, which is still the original, that's starting to slip a little bit. Then again I think you have a very good truck if it lasted that long without more than what you say :). I would have to ask if you live in a cold climate where the roads are frequently and heavily salted. The problem this time was something sticky made its way into the shifter housing as was causing something to stick. All they had to do was clean and lubricate it and it works fine. It lost its alternator a few months back, so its running a rebuilt one now. It also lost its ability to shift at all a while back when the clips that attach the shifter to the transmission rusted off. I don't think its ever broken anything major, just all these stupid little things. I would also like to point out that 10 years and 300,000 km is atypical most cars, at least ones around here. The climate is too hard on them Nova Scotia for cars to last that long without developing some issues. I did have a nice Mercedes for a summer (a C36 AMG) that was at least 15 years old at the time, and it ran quite well. It had 3 problem. First, the headrest in the back was broken (it wouldn't fold down at the touch of a button). Second was that it had almost no freon in its AC, which made its very weak and kind of hit or miss on if it would cool you down at all (which was awesome for a dark car with black interior). Its third problem was that it was very slowly leaking oil from the piston housing. We suspect someone put it back on wrong (tightened the bolts out of order, or one to much before doing the others) and gave it a miniscule bend. Lovely car though. A bit scary at red lights because its air cooling wasn't quite enough, so you could see the engine temperature go up, and then fall as soon as it started moving. I live in Northern New-Brunswick, where we already have around 40cm of snow and temperatures that were below -20 Celsius last week, but mostly below -5 until January. The only problems I had with this car so far are the ball-joints that have to be replaced every few years because they don't repair the roads that get destroyed by ice, and had to have a couple of repairs on the exaust pipe, which should have been changed with the damage it had, but they just replaced parts of it with pipe pieces they had laying around. Less expensive for me, being a student. Only issue it has right now is the keyholes, which only the passenger door doesn't have an issue. As for body rust, I work on it every couple of years as well, so the car pretty much looks like it doesn't have any rust at all. I can take a picture if you'd like. I guess we both have very good vehicles :).

SpeedFan is bad and really outdated. It's the one I used for years before finding out about hwmonitor and coretemp, and let me say it is really inferior to the others, and didn't even give the right temperature readings on my newer computers.

Meh personally I prefer shopping alone, but if I had to shop with someone, I always like to shop with other guys more since it's faster.

It can do on older and slower systems, like I said on most systems its not noticeable; but its certainly not a myth. If it's always the same amount of FPS, it might be that your computer won't run it better than that. 2 of my computers are very strong, and they also do that, although with different amounts of FPS, yet I can play Skyrim with everything at the highest settings with a higher FPS. Don't take it outside in the winter, it will crack the screen and destroy it. It is a good idea, but setting it to real time isn't really what you explained. Real time means that it runs directly on the hardware, without all the failsafes of Windows, which will cause a blue screen of death if anything happens.

Heck, maybe they should use a Linux Live CD to help them do the backup as safely as possible? At least then none of the junk that has infected Windows would be running. :huh: ~D. V. Devnull Yeah that is a good idea, as soon as the restore is done, going outside Windows and backing up the files with a linux live CD is a very good idea as you can be sure the files won't go back to the hidden status.

Sy_Accursed, it's a myth that has been debunked. The only thing cleaning a registry is for, is when you're troubleshooting. Cleaning the registry does not change the performance of your computer.

Increasing the system RAM won't do anything as he already has more than enough. Also FPS has nothing to do with the internet quality. Does your computer get hot a lot? I do know that HP laptops tend to get hot quickly and often overheat, and that can affect the performance.

This morning was pretty funny. After preparing myself to get to college, I find out that my car took a long time to start. Ok, fair enough, it was pretty cold outside. I wait something like 1 minute before taking the road. And here it is, clutch pedal sticking to the floor, no power-steering, I guess it was very cold outside. It was only when I looked at the temperature at the college that I found out it was -24°C outside today.

You know what, just to be faster than doing everything, I suggest doing a restore to the 16th again, and without an internet connection (or even in safe mode) I would back everything up on a separate drive (songs and stuff) and do a clean reinstall of Windows. It's a pain in the ass but will make sure everything is gone.

Yeah, being around my parents annoys me as well, since I'm used to living alone and doing my own things. When I go home I have to use my laptop (which isn't so annoying anymore since it's a 2 month old Asus G53SW, much stronger than my desktop, but only has 1 screen) and then my mother comes into my stuff and cleans everything (it's already clean, STOP IT!) and then I can't find my stuff anymore since it's at different places than where I place them. I'm going to see if I can live with it for the 2 week break, but I might come back to my appartment if I can't stand it. And yeah, for earphones I've been using my Logitech one for about 3 years and it's still working as new, even though I used to often roll on the wire with my computer chair >.<

Doesn't have to have that orange tab at the top left corner, he might have the latest version of Firefox.
