  1. [hide] for some reason the runescape higscore stats tracker is blank after the 15th, so hard to pull anything from there. the amount of p2p as of today (19th mar) is 886,171 it was 876595 on the 15.mar at 13:00 (last number i can find on: http://open.tip.it/high-score-stats) so that number has gone up probably due to bxpw. so there seams to have been a nice hig lvl nuke hitting runescape on the 16th, can also locate a few other moments in 2012 that the ranks have suddenly gone up, but these have been much smaller and harder to locate. one must also consider that the ranks should have gone down due to bxpw, so the number off banns/resets is most likely higer. You forget people cancelling or not renewing their memberships? Hiscore ranks are not a trustworthy source any more. lol, yea.... umm im talking about 10k+ players with hig stats that decide to let membership run out on the day before bxpw? and considering this has not happening this clearly since the botnuke, i can say this is not players just canceling their membership. Maybe I'm retarded, but where did you get 10k people from? I see you're rank increasing by a roughly 500-1000... Also the tip.it chart shows a rise of roughly 25,000 from the 15th to the 19th... [/hide] geting 10 from that the 1k+ ranks i gained where in skills i have lvl 99 in, and most likely they did not have hig enough skills to raise my rank in other stat, bxpw that should have made my stats go down hides some, and then we have to consider that jagex most likely did not only ban ppl with 99 stats. i would say its easy to add it up to 10k ppl. the raise of ppls with members is most likely due to bxpw, I'm not sure if jagex banned or if they rolled back. and 25k+ ppl dose not have any effect on my ranks going up, it can have the opposite effect, aka hiding even more banned bots. at least he don't see the adverts if he do not go there, there for cutting of potential profits. That should be enough to feel good about yourself

  3. seams it broke around the time jagex decided to drop a nuke ;O that EMP  Or is it only me having the problem? :)
  4. This is from my runetrack profile. the number of ranks gained from 15th to 16th is in light blue, no skilling involved, or very small, such as teleporting 2-3 times. for some reason the runescape higscore stats tracker is blank after the 15th, so hard to pull anything from there. the amount of p2p as of today (19th mar) is 886,171 it was 876595 on the 15.mar at 13:00 (last number i can find on: http://open.tip.it/high-score-stats) so that number has gone up probably due to bxpw. so there seams to have been a nice hig lvl nuke hitting runescape on the 16th, can also locate a few other moments in 2012 that the ranks have suddenly gone up, but these have been much smaller and harder to locate. one must also consider that the ranks should have gone down due to bxpw, so the number off banns/resets is most likely higer.
  5. 93-96 thiving 2.077m 88-91 Farming 1.784m aka 6 lvls :) missa happy :) gained about 400 ranks in total, 270 till top 10k :D oooo and i gained str/consttution/prayer/magic/wcing/flech/fish/smith ranks on the 16th, all of those i have 99 in, and i have not skilld any of them as of l8, so there mus have been a big hig lvl bot nuke for me to gain my highest rank in those skills sofar :S
  6. those runing the bots also make a tone of gp, runing up the price of hig end items, making them harder for those who do not bot to get. and maybe ppl would got out and kill dragons if you earned more, farming herbs would be even more motivated, actually cutting real trees rather than ivy for lvls and xp, fishing on spots producing products rather than barbarian fishing. Bots remove the will and motivation to go for slower of lvling, and i feel that is destroying the game.

  10. banned for making me agree with you, and for spreading bunnys.
  11. I knew something like this had to be out there :P Jagex always seam to miss something when it comes to bxpw :) wonder if they can fix this or let it slip, probably letting it slip due to the small amount off ppl who actually had the opportunity to abuse this.
  12. It can be done with out permission, but in that case the owner to the songs decided not to sue, they could if they wanted to. posting some links to a few articles dose not prove that sampling is culturally accepted, no need to put such a wide perspective on this, the fact that some accept it dose not make it so. Like with all laws, there are those who like it and those who do not, I can go out and find several articles telling you the o posit of anything you bring here, but we are talking about laws that where set down by a MAJORITY of ppl that we have selected to make laws for us, if you have problems with how the law system works, this is not the topic for that. And we are talking about jagex here, its their game, and they do not accept how bots use runescape, If we are to compare that to the music industry, where as someone is sampling music against the owner of the original songs will, they can get sued, and are most likely to lose. The fact that jagex won that court case, makes it more likely they will win the next one, and this time probably faster. In general when something new hits the courts, the first case will be long, but it often sets the guidelines for future cases similar to it.
  13. Banned for saying bad things about the bunny! ;O what is happening to my signature? ;O

  19. [hide=quote] Except robbery is a criminal act, while Jagex would be issuing a civil suit against you. As far as I know, Jagex hasn't actually reach the level of court with any persons who bot/ people who distribute bots. Perhaps you could show me credible proof otherwise. PS, I think the "You wouldn't steal a car" videos are equally foolish. You wouldn't steal a candy bar is more like it. http://forum.tip.it/topic/307200-jagex-limited-vimpulse-software-eric-snellman-and-mark-snellman/ everything in that video is true, you can actually get hard time for downloading. It also has alot to do with morals, breaking the law is breaking the law, just because its a small crime its not ok. Just say "You wouldn't download a car" and "You wouldn't download a bike" to realize the idiocy of these ads and mentality. Really, it's the modern day equivalent of saying that taking a photo of someone is stealing their soul. You have not denied someone their property. Now, it can be argued that by copying works of art and distributing them that you're interfering with the ability of the legal owning entity from making a just profit. However, the burden of proof falls more onto the copyright owner. Now, if you're turning a profit on another's copyright, then it's easier to show damage as that's easy proof of lost profit. With bots, my understanding it's more about interfering with a just business. Not sure how you can compare to the real world, but maybe it's like scalping. A company floods a box office with people to buy up all the tickets to resell at a profit. Normal fans are denied a fair price for the same experience in that case. My problem here is if the company did not take reasonable methods to hinder such activities yet calls upon the government and courts to do the dirty work. Sort of like moaning about people stealing your property, because you held a lawn sale with only a sign 'Take what you want, pay inside for what you take'. [/hide] you don't not seam to get the message, the commercial is about raising awareness that piracy is against the law. And I was trying to tell you that creating bots is against the law. Digital items, such as movies, games, rs are all Items that can be compared to cars etz to bring forth that message. you can Compare destroying someones car to destroying a game by creating bots, you can compare it to running of with candy from a shop, burning down a building, assaulting someone. Comparing it to buying out all the tickets for a concert is silly tho, as that is not always against the law, unless its specifically forbidden to resell them, witch it some times is. You can say anything to tell me otherwise, but that is what the law says, if you download a illegal copy of a movie, you might as well have run off with it from the store, your committing a crime either way, how bad those crimes where compared to each-otter dose not matter, you should not bend the law just because you feel "this is such a small crime", only in case of emergency may you bend the law, and last time i checked, not having enough time to play a game dose not count as an emergency. Creating Bots for Runescape IS against the law. That is all that really had any discussion value in my post, so plz stop talking about bad real life comparison. Plz try and stay on topic. him creating a bot that dose all this Is not really a lifetime achievement award for a code writer. Still he might actually be very good at what he is doing, but I would rather prefer we leave that to those who actually work with him. I'm far more impressed by the work done on the anti-bot system, its harder to build something, than to break it. Btw, great post jrhairychest :)
