Ya, that's it. I do randoms so mindlessly now that I just figured there were a few that didn't give lamps :P

Has there ever been an xp lamp for that one?
  3. I have that exact tube. =). Are you the one in pink?
  4. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AheuzHmAkHUNdHQ1MkxCb0cwZHV4V0Y3VFFaYlVHTUE#gid=0 Basically, COTS increases accuracy by 3.28% and xp/hour by 16762.56. I don't know how you came out with that because it sounds ridicolous. In your spreadsheet, you assumed banking "takes" 35 ticks. How is that possible when the fishing spot change all the time? Inb4 "I averaged it". How big were your sample of that average? You also assumed you get 6k ticks per hour. You won't ever get that amount because of ping and I guess you get lots at LRC. Also in your "XP/hr with urns", the calc is ridicolous wrong. You can't just XP rate*1.2 because you have less free space in inventory and also have to bank more often. Also, did you use familiar in those timings? I hope this post doesn't sound rude or anything. We are from the same clan so I wouldn't be rude in anway. Even if we weren't, I wouldn't be rude on purpose with you or anyone else. Banking does take 35 ticks, but that's more or less perfect timing, so I'll try to find a better number, although a few ticks from banking doesn't make a huge difference. I did take into account urns taking up inv space.

  6. Just cook something then check the time remaining. If it doesn't register then do it normally.
  7. It's working fine for me.
  8. I saw a cat masturbate the other day. Anyone want pics?
  9. Redtunnel maxed as a combat 3 a few days ago, not 120 dung though. :P He has 200m WC and his current goal is probably 200m cook to keep up with the studies and then 120 dg and 200m RC with nature and law tiaras. I think he has 800k-1m GOP tokens already. Yeah, he won't be doing 200m Rc with tiara's by the way. :P At the moment there are 3 maxed level 3 skillers include 120 Dg/99 Slayer (Magnus (aka Pure Kq Pax), A Log Burner and Jjussi). Jjussi will be Cooking/Firemaking/Woodcutting the next time. Redtunnel is maxed except 120 Dungeoneering (102), and Beta Sun is maxed except Slayer (83). If someone wants the level 3 skillerlist: Level 3 highscore. Change 'Display' to 'overall'. They're last updated like 1 week ago or something. :) How much exp/hr would he be getting using the tabs for making laws/natures tiaras? What is the exp/hr compared to ZMI if you don't have alter tabs? (Which tiara is fastest exp/hr in this comparison?)
  10. Wat They're way to slow to be practical. Furthermore, they're all out of the way. They don't change anything.
  11. You could say, "X method is the most efficient, but only if you find it fun." But you could also say that about Y method. The same goes for Z method, ad nauseam. It's just easier to leave it at what we can measure and let people decide what they want to do based on what only they can measure.
  12. The problem I have with APM is that it's Input/Input. All APM does is unlock certain methods; you can't do x method if you can't click quickly or accurately enough. Xp/action would be a much better unit, for calculating pure efficiency. Xp/A shows how much you receive divided by the amount of effort put it. However, that too is flawed because actions aren't the only way to measure effort, and high Xp/A methods are often low Xp/hour. There are also only two things you can do with your time: play RuneScape and not play RuneScape. If your goal is to achieve 5b xp, it's (as sad as this sounds) efficient to maximize time playing RuneScape. This is because the time spent not playing doesn't help you achieve your goal. Obviously, you can't play RuneScape 24/7, but there are ways to maximize how much you play. You can, for example, chop ivy while studying or doing homework. Doing so gains you 70k xp for every hour spent studying over the alternative, which would be logging out. I think we can all agree that doing so is efficient use of time.
  13. When it comes down to it, I think there's only one definition of efficiency. Efficiency = receiving the most output from the least input. Outputs: Xp, enjoyment Inputs: Time, effort I think this part is undeniable, you put in time and effort in order to get xp and enjoyment. The trouble comes when you try to define any of those four values. Xp is easily defined, but time isn't. Do you only count in-game time, or do you count all 24 hours of the day? Effort is also hard to define: is it the same as apm? So something like ivy requires less effort than teaks or arctic pines? But then again, low alching teaks doesn't require much attention, despite requiring 100 times as many actions as ivy. Then there's people like Jebrim, who put in a ton of effort to get, what, a 1% boost in xp? Is that efficient? Enjoyment is the hardest to measure, and can be used to justify anything: I'll go chop yews for 200m wc because I find it more fun than cutting arctic pines. If fun didn't exist, that person would be brutally murdered by most metagamers. But the fact is, it's efficient because it's fun. Or is it? Is there such a thing as marginal fun? Can you say something like, is the amount of enjoyment you gain from yews equal to or greater than the 100k xp/hour that you lose? I'd say that's up to the individual to decide, but I'd like to hear other's opinions. And this is why we have so many arguments about efficiency: it's so complicated and there's so many variables. But for this thread, I propose that we ignore enjoyment altogether, as the top players are expected to enjoy the most effective methods. This will ease our calculations as well. If one of the top players doesn't enjoy a certain method, it will simply be blacklisted. Time will be defined as total time, i.e. all 24 hours in the day, since a player can average 1m xp/hour but only play an hour a day, but will get nowhere in the race to 200m all. Players who play more will be rewarded for it by reaching their goal first. Ergo, chopping ivy instead of logging out would be efficient (unless the ivy distracts them, causing them to fail out of college and end up living on the streets without a computer, or something). I'm not sure how we would do effort, so, again, I'd like to hear some opinions.
  14. It's really inconvenient that 'efficiency' is used both in the narrow sense (e.g. fastest way to get account from A to B) and the personal sense (e.g. most preffered way for player X to get account from A to B). Usually the narrow sense is used because it's actually calculable. If there were a way to factor in fun, I'm sure we'd do it, but it's far too subjective.
  15. Afkability is part of efficiency. So is fun. Don't forget that.
  16. It's awfully depressing that this is the case >.> Not only do most MMOs not lie/be wrong about everything and anything they ever say, they actually give in depth gameplay mechanics and statistics, even drop rates, to the players by default, instead of leaving everyone in the dark for no clear reason. This thread has gotten a little side tracked. Anyone out there willing to do a little testing with the gloves? :) Ya >.< They give us so much false/misleading information. Look at this: http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Black_mask I fixed up the dragon pick page though ;D
  17. So basically a less useful version of AHK? I don't get it.
  18. So wait. If I programmed one key press to move my mouse, then another key press to click my mouse, that's acceptable? I thought that was botting, since I got banned awhile back for doing exactly that. You can't move your mouse to an exact position. And didn't you say you just recorded yourself rcing and looped it a few times? Or was that someone else? I did record my mouse movement, but then I linked it to a key. I never did loop it, it was always one key press per one action. So you can program AHK for a key press to press a key press, or a mouse click, but not a mouse movement, or say an image find? Every time you press a key, only 1 action can be performed. Mouse movements and clicks are separate actions. F1:: Mousemove, 0, 40, Relative return F2:: Click return For example

  20. The HTML link didn't pick up the last ')'. Here's a quote: "With the current hit marks system, a 0 can depict one of two things - either you missing your opponent, or hitting them but causing 0 damage (save for magic, which has a different 'squib' animation for a miss). In these cases, I went through many, many files to update them so that with the new hit marks system, you will either 'miss' your opponent or cause a minimum of 1 damage. While this isn't groundbreaking, it means the system shouldn't 'lie' anymore, it's more informative. A hit will always mean damage is inflicted and a miss is you missing the chance in the first place." This leads me to believe they just didn't update it for things like bugs. All the other data was pre-update. We'd still need actual data to prove anything, though.
  21. When they multiplied the damage by 10, they mentioned that you now cannot hit 0's. The minimum is 1. The blog isn't up anymore, but here's a mirror: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Update:Blog_-_Hit_Marks:_Damage_Control_(August_2010) That page is blank as well. Either way, I'm not inclined to trust what Jagex says lol
