Nowadays, the role of keyer is downplayed. The keyer is the one responsible for the crit path, mostly. I'd recommend reading maz's guide for more info. As far as binds go, you're looking at prim 2h>prim baxe>prom, prim plate>hood. Your post implies that you're not very good at dungeoneering, and I assume you use w117 or something. If you do, there isn't much you can do to speed up your floors, so go with a tank ring and pick up an anti dragon shield at the start, to minimize your deaths. Don't worry about sucking, because everyone around you sucks too. A lot of things are more important than binds, though. Good map reading skills are a necessity. Read Tui's guide on xpw for that. Practice is good too.
