  2. They don't look so tough now, eh?
  3. Geeze.. I really hope it does.. i got a ton of planets and stuff.. Anyways, for the other applications. like the sims, should I install the game first, then transfer the files, and just slot them in to their appropriate folders?
  4. Hmm.. Well that sounds good for the Sims and RCT parks... thing is for spore, i don't want just the creations, but the worlds as well. (IE. i want my existing civilizations and stuff to still be there, so i don't have an empty galaxy on the new comp) PS. Actually, the build WAS for me.. :
  5. Oh.. And The toast of WAR!
  6. Hey guys, me again (Oh noes..) The build went well.. did it in a few hours. Everything seems to be working well for now. However, i need to get my old files to my new comp... Files that are actually programs, like games and stuff. Im not sure if i can just pop them on an external hard drive, and put them on my new comp, and they'll be installed. I've gotten my documents and my pics on the new comp, but im not sure on how to handle applications. The programs who's files i NEED to keep (Because i've worked hard to unlock/create them) Spore: All the creations NFS: All the cars i've unlocked The Sims 1 and 2 : All my houses Halo Custom Edtition: All the maps and what-not RCT3: The parks i've made All the applications that would take an UNGODLY amount of time to download again.(Wow, Eve-Online, Combat Arms, Gimp, GMAX (I'm talking 37 hours here just for WoW)) Any help is definitely appreciated. I DO have an external hard drive (250gb) if needed. And I do have a SATA cable, in case i could just directly hook up the old HDD with my new comp. (While I know this would work, however, I don't want to risk having any hidden viruses from my HDD travel to my new clean HDD.) Thanks again! PS: Thanks to everyone as well for helping with the build.

  8. Hey guys.. um.. Quite simply.. Problem. Actually, it may not be a problem, but i just want to check. I know that the memory standard on the Mobo is the lowest speed it will accept.. However, check this: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6813128387 It shows that Customers also bought this memory: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6820231166 However.. That memory is too slow for that MOBO... Problem is, I bought that memory.. So.. Yeah.. Is that a problem? EDIT: I just read a review about a guy who had my exact ram, and he said it worked flawlessly. Still though.. i made a newbish mistake and im a bit unnerved..

  10. Kk, got the Optical.. The arctic silver, It's thermal grease, right? Because i couldn't find it anywhere on the site, and i searched it and other variations of it. Other than that though, how would you rate the finished build? Is it finished?
  11. He needs a haircut OT: Lol thanks.. i wondered what a person who works on Tip.it would think of it.
  12. LOL its not that hard. Just buy a 30 dollar hard drive and you coudl get like 250GB. Swap a few cables, and bam. And everyone knows that RAM is easy, just find one that's compatible, and slot it in.
  13. YAY! I guess that means its DONE! Here's the final product: Total: 1328.35 (You guys saved him about 150$ off his previous, and about 300$ off the Dell : ) Case HDD Mobo Graph. Card PSU RAM CPU Thingamajig (Heatsink) Other Thingamajig DVD/CD Burner DVD/CD Reader Vista 64
  14. Wait a sec.. Im missing something here.. You just said to add the 10$ Im currently With the VX550 - 108$ Is that the one you all recommend? Because its the one i currently picked, maybe i just forgot to mention :?
  15. Ok. he plays at a smaller screen resolution, so I took your card. We decided to switch to AMD, solely based on your decision. He decided to accept your heatsink, 'cause there's no harm in having it. And we're staying with our other PSU. One last thing I dont remember, If I buy a DVD/cd burner for him, will I need to also get a CD/DVD Reader, because I couldn't find the option for the combo ones.
  16. Yay! Oldjoe has forgiven my last topic ;) Anyways those were some interesting Links. I swapped out the HDD with yours, 'cause they were practically identical but yours had a bigger cache. The Video card.. Is the 1Gb only for larger resolutions? Because if it is, then you're right, i should go with a cheaper 512mb. I added yours to my Shopping cart, because from the reviews, its fantastic. (Seriously though, could someone explain to me the resolution thing?) Now.. the CPU.. I've always.. Always been an intel-er so switching to amd will be strange.. however could you expand on my choice? I know the I7 is technically a quad core, so shouldn't a faster quad > slower i7? I added both the mobo and CPU to my whistlist, just to check out a bit more. The PSU is.. Good, but Im holding off on it for now to do some more in-depth comparison in reviews and stuff.. Chances are il take yours instead. The Optical drive Im looking at cause yesterday, all the good ones were out of stock. And Is the cooler necessary? Thanks for putting up with me.
  17. Ok guys.. I REALLY dont want to piss people off again like last time ( ) So I'm just gonna post my final selection, and if you guys notice any major problems, please tell me. If not, I'm gonna buy it. PLEASE bare with my antics! Thanks again! Case Hard Disk Graphic Card PSU *I couldn't find one with more power on the 12V rail that was rated as well.* RAM Mobo CPU OS
  18. Lol yes that last topic was a doozy. But it did turn out great. The computer turned out awesome. However, this time my friend has a larger budget than I did, so we can make a better comp. And the Corsair 400. I remember from the last topic everyone said to go for 450 min and around 500 if I could.. This comp will use even more power. So thanks for the info, but il look for a better 500W one.
