  1. The only thing purchasable with real money in league of legends that is really an advantage is IP boosts, since that allows you to fill out different rune pages more quickly. Experience boosts, while they get you to 30 more quickly, unless you rune IP boosts as well leave you at a disadvantage since you won't have IP for runes. Everything else just basically gives you more variety, but it can all be purchased by playing the game. It would be like if the items in Solomon's shop were buyable with gp as well.
  2. Nice little quality of life bonus with this... I don't have to go to Varrock every time I teleport to mobilizing armies to remove the stupid title it gives me. It also looks like everyone gets 200 coins for free.
  3. Either that or let us bind keys to stuff. Making everyone press enter to chat kind of seems like a waste if we can't even use the rest of our keyboard... This is one of those things that will seem annoying at first but will quickly become second nature. I'm having the reverse problem coming back to RS, I keep hitting enter to start chatting. So every time I go to talk I'm yelling random quick chat lines.
  4. And on those monsters is the mage/range damage comparable to what you would do to other things with melee?
  5. So are mage and ranged actually viable alternatives to melee combat now? And is mage combat a viable training method compared to alching/superheat/string/etc.?
  6. Anyone who is in get an email? Or are you all just the long-term members?
  7. When you take the ability to force imbue into account, you never need to imbue more than 2 if you work across until there are only tiles left in one row, you can get it to 1 or 2 tiles remaining in a move or two. ..*** Flip Center, Imbue 1 tile .*.*. Imbue both .**.* Imbue all three, or ..++. flip the top left, imbue remaining 2 *...* Imbue both, or .+++. click center of 4 remaining, imbue remaining 1 *.**. Imbue all three, or .++.. flip the top left, imbue remaining 2 **.** Flip .+.+. imbue remaining 2 ***.. Flip Center, imbue 1 tile.
  8. There are actually 7 combinations that you can memorize that will let you solve any puzzle. Push all the tiles to one side, you might be able to solve it in the process, if so, great! If you didn't, look at what is left in the row, match it to the first column in the table below: ..*** ...+. .*.*. .+..+ .**.* +.... *...* ...++ *.**. ....+ **.** ..+.. ***.. .+... Starting at the opposite side from the tiles that are left, click the + in the second column, and work your way back across, at which point it should be solved. This doesn't always result in the fewest possible moves, but if you aren't quick with setting up a solver it may be faster.
  9. If you're fighting something as it degrades chances are you were wearing it for the stats. So when it suddenly degrades and the only indication of it was 2 lines in chat (that you can easily miss if people are talking in clan/friends/etc.) the fact that it stays equipped is worth mentioning.
  10. You may not be able to equip it, but if it ticks to 0 while it is equipped it does not get removed.
  11. You mean the sleeping bags/fatigue? That is some weak ass CAPTCHA compared to the the industrial stuff like recaptcha today. They were not really hacked either, there was just such a limited number of words that botmakers just solved them all - this will be utterly impossible today if Jagex uses the good stuff. But they were pretty effective - I remember actually having real players inside mining guild and at fishing guild those times. Real people! They were removed because, well, captchas aren't very game-friendly... but they added thise tough randoms to replace them. Unlike now, where there's nothing and all randoms are bot solvable (mostly because the game client's been hacked so badly..) Recaptcha is actually pretty week. One of the words has already been identified by OCR, which means it can definitely be done again by a bot, and the second word doesn't actually need to be correct. From Recaptcha's site: "Each new word that cannot be read correctly by OCR is given to a user in conjunction with another word for which the answer is already known. The user is then asked to read both words. If they solve the one for which the answer is known, the system assumes their answer is correct for the new one."
  12. quitter.... shame on you  69.4 days of playing castle wars. 17.4 days of standing around waiting between matches 86.8 days total to get the 5000 games
  13. If you have a set flying around, or happen to like Pest control/Conquest void armor could be worth a look. The extra 10% attack bonus will help with hitting, and the 10% damage bonus will be similar to to the strength bonus from Bandos armor and the likes. You would definitely want to pray melee with void though, void offers good magic defense so with your stats magic attacks should splash fairly often.
  14. Bereserker ring (i) is maxed about a 22-23 damage increase, which works out to just below 5% if you hit the max possible. In reality it is less since you don't always hit max, and for mobs you can easily hit it does significantly less if it doesn't actually decrease the hits to kill the monster. For someone who kills 1,000 mobs with a RoW, you could kill 1,050 with berserker (i). Let's say that was someone killing green dragons to collect bones and make some money. The berserker ring wearer has come out with an extra ~280k from those 50 extra kills The extra drop table rate is where the difference could be. The average minimum drop for loot on that table, is currently ~485k. Depending on how much of an increase RoW actually gives, it could definitely be worth using.
  15. I Use a spear to have access to all 3 different styles, and I've used ranged against bosses to avoid melee prayer. [hide]Forgotten Mage: Slash Forgotten Ranger: Stab Forgotten Warrior: Seems to be stab, but they are fairly hard to hit when they're fully equipped. Ice Warriors: Crush Ice Giants: Crush Icefiends: Stab Ice Elemental: crush Ice Spider: Slash Shades: Stab Throwing Troll: Crush Rats: Slash? Hydra: Stab Bosses: Astea: Range/Slash To'Kash: Crush Icy Bones: Crush Gluttonous Behemoth: Crush Plane-Freezer: Stab[/hide]
  16. I haven't done them in a while, but the advanced pickpocketing is nice for Master Farmers. Unless it was changed previously, potato seeds are actually fairly rare from them (get them maybe every 10-15 minutes). The same applies to a number of other lower level seeds as well.

I've had 3 tasks of them so far, I've averaged about 650 tokkul per kill across all 3 tasks (Killing a mix of Xil and Ket).
  18. I was playing around with sap warrior during a Steel dragon task, it definitely seemed make it a lot easier to hit them.
  19. The Split browser add on for Firefox is nice for multitasking too. Putting things side by side, especially if they're different sized windows, can be a pain and it lets you put tabs side-by-side in the same window. It's great for having video or such on the side of the screen.
  20. It also has the armor benefits of a rune full helmet while not having any negative effects to magic/ranged. The extra armor never hurts, especially when it comes with it's other bonuses.
  21. Well, RS is probably the only game in existence where PvP can actually generate money. Most games have it as a bit of a money sink (Equipment needing repairs, or market taxes when you replace whatever you lost).
  22. What at all about 90+ in any skill is hard? It all boils down to how much time and patience you have. The only "hard" aspect is not getting bored with it before you get there. The elite tasks take all of what? 1-2 hours to do? It's not some long lasting repeatable content that's going to keep high level people busy. Things like GWD and corporeal beast are those things. Mid-80's would have been plenty enough of a requirement for what it is, and it would have been within reach of a much wider range of players.
  23. To clear my stance up, I've never complained about the lack of high level content. In fact, I rarely complain about anythng jagex throws at us. I dislike the fact of rs turning into a get 99 everything race, but I bear with it. I'm okay when requirements are within reach, even it will take me weeks to get it. But 93 summoning? 91 smithing? These are levels that even a high level like me who've put hundreds of hours into the game and say, W T F. If you want a goal, there're always 99s for you to go for. But a diary completion really should be within the reach of us normal players instead of catered to <1% of the rs population. 6002 players with 93 summon/1m (say just 1 million total rs players)= 0.6%. There's a reason it's called 'elite'. Obviously I'm preaching to the wrong crowd here. If you're posting here in the middle of a Tuesday, you're NOT the typical rs player. Don't think I'm a lvl 100 here with an 1700 total. I've played rs since feb 2002 and rank 40,000 on the highscores. Just within the hiscores 40k/2m I rank within the top 2% of rs players. But no, that's apparently nowhere near elite according to jagex. the 0.6% I gave earlier is a very conservative estimate, I would say that <0.5% of rs will get access to this piece of content. Jagex should not expect even all elite players to achieve those elvels. For most of the "Good we finally have "elite" requirements for things" crowd running around with 99's it's like releasing some content where you need 45 million xp for one task, and 60 million for another... Look at quest requirements... 75 is the highest skill requirements needed for any of them. Level 75 needs 1,210,421 xp, that's 10% of the way to 99 as far as XP is concerned. That already takes a fair amount of time to get to for any normal player who isn't trying to powerlevel their way up. 91 is 4.5 times the amount of xp, and 93 is 6 times the amount of xp! Summoning at least has some worthwhile things upto 93... but even then only 6,756 as of this post have 93 summoning. Smithing is even worse, Aside from the 99 cape there is really any reason to go that high. The top 5,570 are 99. All of 10,713 people have 90 or higher. That says volumes about the state of smithing... Unless you're going for the cape it's just not worth training that high. Smithing IS getting a revamp which is good, but should people have to train an otherwise useless skill up that high for a single step of something? The Dragon platebody and DFS aren't exactly justifying reasons either since a couple people could probably keep up with the demand for those services...
  24. Supplies already cost more than the finished potions.
  25. There already is one, as well as 2 other skins. The "Mobile" skin is "IP.Board Lo-Fi". There's a drop-down box at the bottom left corner of the forums where you can change the skins.
