As of far, I have written up Banshee's and Basilisks, still searching into the basilisks and meleeing banshees. I've killed the Mightiest Turoth boss, and the Monstruous Crawler boss also. Zaaps1, a resident here, has written up a short ( ) guide on the Kurask boss. [hide=Banshees]Starting off: Your inventory should look like this; for people around my level (70 defence, and 64 range = me) Which basically consists of: Tele: one click, 2 runes, etc, any really. Food: Barely needed, just incase you get in a tight situation. I recommend 4 monks, maybe 5 or 6. 405 gp: 5gp for the Shantay Pass, 200 for the carpet to Polly, and if you want, 200gp for the carpet to Nardah or Shantay. Lots of space: They drop alot of herbs, while many are under 1.5k, still drop alot of harralanders which can equal up to alot of cash. The 2 spots I highlighted, are reserved for range potions, which obviously really do speed things up alot, and you can easily get profit for 2 (3) Range Potions in under 3 minutes at a good speed. You obviously should be wearing this equipment: Make sure you dont wear red dhide if your range is 40-50, 50-60, and 70+, wear the best you can. Barrows isnt really needed. Avas Attractor/Accumulator is mostly needed (other than facemask and earmuffs), as, if you dont have one, no need for you to read this part of the guide. ;) Moving on. The spots here indicate where and how to range the banshees. Red circles represent where you stand, blue represents where (half of) the banshee will be standing, being the half you will attack, and not lose arrows. The spot is the south-western corner of the huge area, next to the red-aura-thing. Personal experiences -> hints: Don't use a cbow if your range is low. It's extremely slow, and is not good for training, use a mage shortbow with steel arrows. Decent xp, drops, and quite fast too. Walking out to pick up a drop can be dangerous, but not deadly. You wont be hit more than 9, I can assure you that (if your defence is really low, you will get hurt a bit). If there is a banshee behind the banshee atop of your drop or arrows, or bolts, it's safe to get it without being hit, the banshee atop your drop, etc is stuck since they take up 2x2 squares. The aggressiveness of these banshee's drop very quickly. About 20 kills, they're unaggressive. Take advantage of this, and melee them for a short time if you want. FAQ's: 1. What ring and ammy should I wear? Depends what you want. I wear a ring of wealth for a higher chance of drops, people who are cautious should wear ring of life, it can be dangerous. Also, an archer ring is not recommended; I hate them, they're rip-offs. As for the ammy, I say power or glory. Your choice. 2. Are there any other safe-spots? I havent checked yet, I cant be bothered running in there and dying to check for more :P My Best Trip: Used 0 food, 2 doses of range pot, and the cash is only 585, I had 200 prior, for a carpet ride, so it comes to total of: 53,763gp (at the time). This was around about 35-50 minutes at banshees, with distractions, and a break of 5 minutes (in total) with a friend there. Very, very lucky drops. Post if I should make a melee guide for these? I reckon I can do it easily.[/hide] [hide=Basilisks /inc Boss]The Basilisk Boss: No doubt the easiest boss, aside from the banshee mistress. Bring your best melee armour, and protect from magic prayer, a few super stat restore potions, and a few monks/sharks. I highly recommend you bring a familiar with you, since its multi, and even the smallest of familiars can help, as the basilisk switches over to the familiar and stops attacking you for a while. This can happen some times. Easily finished, I done with torags and a d long. Ok, now for the real basilisks. Focusing on melee; Extremely weak if you bring the right gear, melee armour, facemuffs, and a mirror shield. For levels 70-80, bring a gem, pots if you wanna waste money, and food, with about 4-6 spots open. 80-90 bring the same, but 6-10 spots open, 90+, bring 10+ spots open in your inv. Melee these in the first area you can, too easy even with rune armour. Basilisks drop a lot of green charms, uncommon crimson and gold, and very rare blue charms. They also can drop guam+ herbs, numerous are under 1k ea, but some surpass it. They can also drop rune daggers, more often than blue charms, and some coins. (I recommend picking up at minimum 200 coins for a carpet to nardah, 100 if you can get cheaper fares). P.S. If you think youll run out of food here before you get enough drops, bring 1 or 2 bones -> peaches spells or tabs with you. Meleeing these basilisks is slow, but can take your mind off of training your melee quite easily. Eventually some people may come in so you should move if you use the following tactic.. Getting basilisks to pile you is very easy, and it doesnt hurt much, but if youre going to do this, bring 2 extra food. This can be fast, but is best used in the 2nd part of the basilisks area. Now, to cannon / range. Cannoning speeds things up extremely well. Dont pack too much food if you can do this. Go to the 3rd small part of the basilisks. This part looks like a boot (facing north). Although there arent many basilisks here, youll notice why I said here. Set your cannon up in the middle of this boot-like spot, and go to the HEEL of the boot, there will be a pile of rocks you can stand on the eastern side of. 1 basilisk spawns here, and is the only one that will attack you, since either 1. The basilisks cannot attack you since you are out of range for some/most of them, thus they back away from you. 2. The one infront of you is the only one that is attacking you, so you only have to deal with this one. Ranging is NOT recommended unless you want to use money on either steel+ knives, or mith+ bolts and rune cbow for mid level ranges, or iron+ knives or mith bolts and a rune cbow for rangers over 70. Again, range in the first spot of the basilisks, unless you want them all to jump on you, go into the second part, numerous, (6+) jump on you in a small spot. You can also safe the basilisks at the cannon-safe-spot I noted just above^ on most basilisks there, but this spot will lose your bolts/knives unless you are extremely skilled in manipulating monsters and where they stand. There is also a large rock formation on the western part of Area 2 of the basilisks, easily used to range. 2 ways to range do not make you drop arrows, bolts, knives, etc, but the rest do. *Pictures soon*[/hide] [hide=Kurask Boss /via Mage]The Kurask Overlord himself is very easy. I used less than 30 prayer points (protect-Melee only) to finish him off maging. Killing the Turoth and Kurask bosses only took me about 50-60 casts are dart also, that's in mystic, zammy book, and str cape. Since I prayed, I didn't bother to look for a safespot. You told me you found one at Turoths? The lairs are pretty much identical, so you can probably use the same safespot. 1 more thing: Don't run around a lot. The Kurask Minions and the Kurask Overlord are almost identical, making it hard to distinguish between the 2. The minions have quite a large amount of hp, so you don't wanna waste prayer/runes/ammo on the wrong Kurask.[/hide] [hide=Cave Crawlers /inc Boss]The Monstrous Crawler One of the harder/est bosses in the area, due to its un-stoppable toxic range attack. Although its defence is low, the poison always hits after a dose of potion, so I suggest doing this: 1. Bring a familiar, they always help as they can do slight damage / a lot, depending on your level, but the creature can get distracted by it and attack it for a while. 2. You can drink a dose of anti poison right after it attacks its THIRD shot, being in perfect time not to be poisoned and not wasting your doses. E.G. You get hit; poisoned You get hit; youre fine (dont pot) You get hit; youre fine (pot after this) Other than the timing on the potions, the boss is easy. The Cave Crawlers; level 138, the highest level monsters (other than the bosses) in the dungeon. They are AGGRESSIVE and hit VERY HIGH. I have not tested how often because I was in torags body and legs when I re-entered the room, and got attacked by 2 crawlers, and got hit a 10 and a 0. So chances are quite in-often but high. Protect from melee against these things while killing them, bring init, or pros armour to protect you for longer. If you dont think you need pray, then youre gonna have to see to believe. You can wear a combination of init/pros and barrows/rune/dragon, it may work to your advantage. I highly doubt there are any spots to safe around here, since these crawlers are 1x2, theyre long from head to tail, but small from left leg to right leg, making them able to fit into any spot you do. Although there can be some small areas you can fit into where only one of them attacks you whilst you cannon them.[/hide] [hide=Turoths /inc Boss]The Mightiest Turoth One of, or THE easiest bosses in the dungeon, easily manipulated behind a pile of rocks slightly north of the entry to him, although minions can still attack, with pray youre easily going to do this with 1, or 0 food used. I maged him behind the rocks, getting attacked by minions, about 4 of them, which are the normal turoths. Didnt use any food at all, and no pots. (I wore torag top and ahrim legs, altogether a +1 mage bonus), so ranging would be easy, and protect from melee combat should be almost, or even easier in total. The turoths, since they can only be hurt by certain arrows, bolts, and weapons, can not be cannoned. I searched thoroughly, and tried finding visible safe-spots. But I found none, I may go there with range gear to actually test some areas to see if theyre safe to range or mage. Although I highly doubt there will be any spots for them. Keep in mind that the Turoth area is the biggest in the dungeon so far. Havent checked the Kurasks one yet.[/hide]
