Thanks and Corrections Tips And Tricks FAQ Starting Off [hide=]First off you must decide whether you are going for fire making, wood cutting or both. If just fire making you must have a fair wad of cash kiddies. Not just 20 gp. But at least 1m+ depending on your goal level. You must also decide whether you want quick and fast and expensive way to level which involves using logs to the best of your ability that have high exp or go a bit slower for cheaper with more experience using logs lower than what you can burn. OoOoOo. Hard isn't it? For wood cutters you must have the right axe and possibly the attack level to wield it if you want to get 1 more log each run. You must also decide if you are going to drop your preciouses or bank them. Cash or experience? But if you are doing both you must decide if you are going to use the logs that you chop to burn your li'l fingers off or buy additional logs. Both of these skills take time and money. Don't expect to reach you goal over night. Work for it you lazy bums![/hide] Recommended Inventory And Clothes Clothes And Inventory for Fire Makers. [hide=]When Fire Making, your should try and stay as light as possible, so that you can run for longer from the bank, to the start of the line, and bank. If clothes are too heavy, you are going to be losing too much experience. I'm not going to tell you that you should wear "XXX" clothes, because any that are light weight will do the trick. Here is a simple example of a light weight set up. Your inventory can be set up, however you choose it too be. There is no point in saying "Have it like, ra ra ra!", because different people require a inventory. Myself, I only need one tinderbox, but others like to use 2+[/hide] Clothes And Inventory for Wood Cutters [hide=]Wood Cutting works on the same principal as Fire Making, light weight clothes. Any light weight clothes will do, so I'm not going to tell you to wear "XXX" Here is a simple example of what I would wear: The axe can either be wielded, or it can be left in your inventory. You can use a shield if you want to so that you have protection from Random Events, but bear in mind that this will make your slower, so you will get less experience.[/hide] Training Spots for Wood Cutters-banking your logs [hide=With Picture's][Levels] Start off in the forest next to Draynor village. Get used to Draynor Village and its trees because you are going to be here a lot. It is full of normal trees so you little munchikns can start your chopping dreams! When you have a full inventory go to the bank and ,well, bank! Alternatively you can cut here: Head over to the Grand Exchange and just outside the entrance there is this mother load of tree's. Bank when needed [Levels] Same place, different tree. Go to the forest next to Draynor and chop oaks till you are level 35. If you stop at 30 and start chopping Willows you will find it looooong and PAINFUL :wall: ! Once again bank your logs. [Levels] Yes. Oh noes! Guess where are you? Draynor Village! Never been here before have you? Start chopping the willows by the water. This area is usually crowded so change world when necessary and bank when necessary. If you are a level 3 skiller watch out for the dark wizards that are there for the level 3 bots-which have died. Stay near the back if this is you you silly skiller! [Levels] Yes! It's True! Your finally out of Draynor! Now your up with the big boys. Chopping yews. It can at times be slow but you can go back to your little willows if you want :shame: nah i'm just kidding! . Head over to Edgeville and chop the two Yews inside in the crumbling house. Ekk! If there are two many people then simply change worlds. Bank when needed.[/hide] [hide=Without Picture's][Levels 1-20-35] For the first few levels, you are going to use one of the following areas; Draynor Forest, and the South Varrock Forest. Draynor/Lumbrige: To get to Draynor/Lumbridge Forest, walk EAST from Draynor Village, or WEST from Lumbridge Castle. This is a huge area, and there are lots of trees here, so competition should not be an issue. Make sure that you stay close to Draynor or Lumbridge, or else you will have a further distance to walk. This forest has both Normal and Oak Trees, so you can stay here up to Level 35. Grand Exchange: To get to the Forest by the Grand Exchange, walk up to the South Entrance/Exit (The one by the two big hands holding money), and Walk SOUTH EAST. You should immediately be in the forest, which has many Trees to cut. The Forest has both of the necessary trees, so you can stay here to Level 35. [35-70-99] For these levels, we will be using Willow's, and we are going to be focusing on ONE town, but TWO spots. Draynor Village. The first spot that we will be using is directly SOUTH of the bank, and is EAST of the Fishing Spot. There are five trees here for you to choose from, but I would recommend that you try to hop around the trees, or focus on two trees that are right next to each other. The other alternative spot is a little further away from the bank, but it makes up for it, as there is usually no one there. The spot is located SOUTH of the Farming Patch, and EAST of the pub/bar. There are four tree's here, so you can get your inventory very quickly. [70-99] For these final level's, we have a choice of FOUR areas. We will be using Yew Trees. Port Sarim: This spot is SOUTH of the Cabbage Patch, and NORTH EAST of the Farming Patch. There is usually no one there, and if you have the Lumbridge Explorers Ring 3, then the time it takes to get to the Tree's is greatly cut down. No pun intended. Varrock: This spot is often always packed, so it might not always be the best alternative. To get to it, go to the EAST Grand Exchange Entrance/Exit, and keep waking EAST, above the castle. You should immediately hit one Yew Tree, with the others a few clicks away. Edgeville: Like the Varrock spot, this is often used, and should be a last alternative. To get to it, walk to the hut, SOUTH of Edgeville Bank, and walk round to the trees. This spot can have lots of people, but it can also have very little, so world hopping is a must. Falador: This spot is one the of the best. It is close to a bank, and there is rarely more than five people there. To get to it, exit Falador via the SOUTH Exit/Entrance, and then walk immediate WEST or EAST to go to one of the trees. It is advised that you stick with one tree, but if there is only a few people, then you can use both.[/hide]Training Spots for Wood Cutters-Dropping or burning your logs [hide=With Pictures][Levels] Head over to the forest North Of Alkaharid, South of Varrock, and East of the The Champion's Guild. Once again get familiar with your surrounding's as you gonna be here for a long time. Chop the normal trees till you are fill and drop or burn when you need to. Burn from along the path just after the gate to Al Kahrid Alternatively you can cut here: Head over to the Grand Exchange and just outside the entrance there is this mother load of tree's. [Levels] Same place dummy! Just chop oaks! Gosh! You got like 3 feet of air! Drop or burn when needed [Levels] Head over to Draynor Village and follow the wall to Port Sarim by the farming patch. Chop the willows. These are rarely used anymore as the bots that used them left-for now =p. Drop when needed. Also head down behind the prison in Port Sarim. There are a few trees here for you kiddies! South of Rimmington there are also a few willows to chop and get splinters in your li'l fingies =] I recommend these willows as they are close to a general store and have a good clean run at fire making: [Levels] You are close young one! Head over to Melzars Maze in Rimmington and chop the yew tree's beside it. Drop or burn when necessary. Burn from the start of the path, just don't have a bath! [/hide] [hide=Without Pictures][1-20-35] For these first few Levels, we will be focusing on two spots, both in/near Varrock. The first spot is just SOUTH of Varrock. To get it to, either walk NORTH from Alkahrid or Lumbridge, or SOUTH from Varrock. There is both Normal and Oak Tree's here, so you can stay there up to 35. To burn your logs, simply walk to the fence, and walk over the to entrance into Alkaharid, and start Fire Making. This should give you a good clean line so that you can go with being interrupted. The second spot is located SOUTH of the Grand Exchange, right by the entrance. To get to the forest by the Grand Exchange, walk up to the South Entrance/Exit (The one by the two big hands holding money), and Walk SOUTH EAST. You should immediately be in the forest, which has many Trees to cut. The Forest has both of the necessary trees, so you can stay here to Level 35. [35-70-99] For these levels, we have a choice of THREE spots, all fairly close to each other. We will be using Willow Trees. Rimmington: This is probably the best spot there is. To get to it, walk WEST from Port Sarim, or SOUTH from Rimmington. This spot is the best for efficient training once you hit about Level 45, but lots of people use it. It is good, as there is a clear Fire Making line, and you can sell your logs to the General Store, which saves you more time Port Sarim: This spot is not so common, but is still very efficient to use. To get there, walk SOUTH of the prison/jail, and you will be there. Unfortunately, there is no where to Fire Make, as there is not a clear line here. The spot is still good though! Draynor: This spot is SOUTH of the Cabbage Patch, and NORTH EAST of the Farming Patch. It is not so common, so you get more Expereince, but there is only 4 Trees. To Fire Make, walk NORTH past the Farming Patch, onto the designated 'path', and start Fire Making. [70-99] For the last few Levels, we are going to focus on one spot. Melzars Maze. To get there, walk NORTH WEST from Rimmington, or WEST from the Rimmington Mine. There are plenty of trees here, and usually no competition. Unfortunately, there is no uninterrupted Fire Making line.[/hide] Places to Burn [hide=]Edgeville: Pros: Near to bank, lots of space to burn Cons: Not as close to a bank as the Grand Exchange, gets a bit lonely as there aren't as many people there. Grand Exchange: Pros: Doesn't get lonely, lots of space to burn, very close to bank Cons: Noob-cakes trade you asking to buy burnt meat xD Draynor Village: Pros: Doesn't get very lonely. Close to a bank Cons: Only one to two lines available. Falador West Bank: Pro's: Many people can burn there, big open space, next to a bank. Cons: None. Varrock West Bank: Pro's: Right in the action so it doesn't get lonely, close to a bank. Cons: Only 2 lines available. Duel Arena: Pro's: Very close to bank, and quick access, not much competition. Cons: Only two lines available. Fist Of Guthix: Pro's: Close to bank, big area to Fire Make, many lines available. Con's: Can get a bit laggish and the designated worlds.[/hide] Inventory Set Up [hide=]Different people require different inventory set-ups when Fire Making. Some like the traditional one Tinderbox, others like many. There are more ways to Fire Make then listed here, you can experiment yourself, although I am listing the most common Traditional Set-Up Most people who are new to it use this way. It is alright if you get use to it, but if you change it is hard to go back. Likelihood of Carpal Tunnel: 4/5 Middle Set-Up A lot easier to use then the Traditional set-up, and my personal favourite. It is good because you are never moving your mouse the full distance Likelihood of Carpal Tunnel: 3/5 "Inverted" Traditional Set-Up I have never tried this myself, but some people say that it is equal to or better than the Middle Set-Up. Looks effective though. Likelihood of Carpal Tunnel: 3/5[/hide] Type Of Trees [hide=] Tree: Exp.
