Too bad I'm not P2P, otherwise this'll appear on their forum instead... A little more than half a year ago, Jagex introduced the pure/reg ess thing, and as usual, people go to the members' forum to post about how great it was and how many autoers were going to leave. Short summary: PAST: 1) Everyone mine rune essence. 2) Ess were 30gp ea more or less. Craftable into any rune types 3) Lots of autominers, obviously. THE CHANGES: 1) Members with lvl 30 mining and runecraft get pure essence when mining. 2) F2Ps, and people without the required lvls mine regular essence. 3) Regular essence can only be used to craft air, fire, water, earth, mind and body runes. Pure ess is used to craft all, most importantly LAW AND NATURE RUNES WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED 1) Since laws and nats are the most important runes, autoers who mined reg ess cannot sell them to members to craft. 2) Value of reg ess should drop, pure ess should remain more or less the same. 3) Number of autominers should drop. WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED 1) Price of reg ess is 30gp ea. Price of pure ess is 100gp ea. 2) Number of autominers didn't change much. 3) And they now have the option of whether to pay 5 bucks a month to earn 3 times the gp... -.- AND SO.....it didn't work! Plus, the cost of pure ess drives up the nats and laws price. Runecrafters earn less from selling them, alchers get less from high alching. Autominers can continue selling reg ess for 30gp ea. And somehow introduce a new scam of tricking people into buying reg ess when they thought it's pure ess, bad bad update! So, why didn't Jagex REMOVE this pure/reg ess thing? :wall: It didn't hurt the autominers, but hurt the normal players instead. PS: If anyone wish to paste this in the official runescape forum, feel free to do so
