  1. I try to remember the details of every quest, but you know that's not easy, with so many quests around. Perhaps the in-game quest tab can have a more detailed note, or better still, a whole essay describing everything (what I did, what happened, who said what) after the completion of the quest, and make it like a chapter from a book? Whenever I click on the completed quests, all I see are simple summary of key actions taken by me.
  2. Well first off, I'm don't own a quest cape. I do at my own pace rather than rushing through them and missing out on the fun. While discussing with a friend regarding the elven quests' storyline (both of us at regicide now), we got confused over the whole story starting from plague city(?). Tons of in-game jokes, humour that isn't that great most of the times, and loose explanation doesn't seem to help. And I believe many of the quests, especially those related to the western areas of Gielinor haven't been concluded as well? (Or have I missed out something?) A part of me thinks that Jagex churned out too many quests without much planning to appease the ever-demanding players, and is now having trouble tying up all the loose ends. Personally, I hope that one of their improvements for this year is to change some of the quests, keeping the pure silly and funny ones (cold war) from those with a more serious tone. What do you think of the numerous quests without a conclusion? All part of Jagex's planning of some major storyline, or a result of constant appeasement policy? SPOILER WARNING! My personal questions of the elven quests that requires clearing up by avid questers! [hide=]I still don't get how the plague from plague citywas a hoax, and yet the people in west Ardougne look sickly and zombified! Why did the elf tracker ask me to look for clues, when the tracks are like, 5 squares away?[/hide]
  3. This is something I definately have an issue with. I've only been playing RS again for around 3 weeks after a 1.5 year break and i'm sure it's already been discussed to death, but combat familiars only being really useful in multi combat areas was something I was pretty disappointed with. Sure, it's nice having the extra healing/bag space from certain familiars, but considering summoning raises your combat level, the affect it has in single combat is pretty underwhelming. Of course, my summoning still definately needs some work, but those are my first impressions on combat familiars. Fight me and my unicorn in a no food duel? Once again, COMBAT familiar. Yes, we understand the benefits of healers and beasts of burdens. Point here is whether combat familiar is useful, and by combat it means offensive power, not passive healing, stats boost etc.
  4. Is that something Jagex designed on purpose, or because there's a techical difficulty that makes it impossible for familiars to join in combat on their own, immediately? I'm thinking the latter. Also, how well does a level 138 player with a steel titan fare in a single-combat area, compared to a level 126 player with summoning at level 1? Well well well! Equally well! How great is that -.-
  5. Farming is a good skill, balanced between cost and profit. Want profit? Plant herbs and cheaper trees. Want faster EXP? Plant the expensive trees, the best of everything in an hourly circle. No grinding. It's a skillcape that I'd love to get. Slayer has always been a weird skill to me. I understand the term of "slayer" as someone who kills special monsters that requires special "techniques", such as gargoyles (which you can never KO without a rock hammer) and dustdevils (which you'll die a tragic death if you rush straight on without a facemask). And you're probably assigned a task because someone needs help exterminating them (from a village or so-and-so town that's been plagued) However, there's a whole list of non-slayer specified monsters on the list that makes me wonder if I'm truly SLAYING or just training combat with that extra slayer EXP to level the skill and increase my total level. Besides that, it seems that most players understand slayer as a train-to-lvl85-so-that-I-can-get-abbywhip skill. If you're thinking that slayer is a useful skill because it provides abyssal whips and dragon boots, I'd like to say that without the skill, something of similar stats could be easily added either as a super rare drop from average monsters, or decently rare drop from boss-level monsters. If the skill was better in concept, perhaps with all monsters assigned being slayer specific, and have you taking tasks from people who need help in a "slayer guild" rather than 5 NPCs, I would say that it's a good skill. Summoning is very, very useful; fits in well into the rest of the skills, and solved many small rants that used to exist on the RSoF. However, some of the familiars' design doesn't fit well into the storyline of RuneScape. Why are the titans spiritual beings of another dimension? Why do some monsters have a familiar version? Is there a god/goddess of summon? Shouldn't summons be more spirtual-like (follow you around like a glowing orb) and less like pets (lagging behind when you run and getting stuck behind trees)?WHY IS THE MAGPIE A SUMMON FAMILIAR AND NOT A PET?!
  6. [hide=] times change we now have guthans and bunyips can live without food (sara brews 2) and kebabs you can buy, you dont need cooking isnt as usefull as other skills. [/hide] And how did people train their stats up enough to do barrows and get the parts? With food. How do people doing barrows survive Verac's set effect? With food. You are going to waste precious training time on buying kebabs, if you actually do that :ohnoes:
  7. All skills have their own uses once added into the game. Crafting provides extra bonuses to combat in the forum of amulets. Farming are one of the sources of Herblore, while Herblore itself provide boosts to your combat and non combat stats. However, I'm rather surprised that no one mention cooking as a explicitly important skill. It's not just important, it's a staple skill, present since the start of the game. Without cooked food, you have 2 choices, either wait for your HP to heal on its own (and I'm sure some people know know how fast that is), or heal using food you buy from NPC (multiple trips of buying and banking). The skill itself may be easy to train, even to the extent that the cooking skill cape is one of the least respectable cape, but imagine a world where no one can cook and sell monkfish and sharks!
  8. I'm looking for ideas to add to my ideal BTS regarding smithing as well, but so far, none yet. Concepts such as slots to upgrade armour with a chance of failure doesn't seem suitable for RuneScape, while adding more metal types would be likely to crash the market of lower level equipment from monster drop and clue scrolls, not to mention unoriginal. I thought of morphing potions for herblore as well, but meh.....let's see how the storyline of the Epic quest this month will be like first. Regarding the totem thingy, I didn't even know that WoW has it. Isn't it something several games, offline and online, have anyway? Some sort of defence for mages, as opposed to shields for warriors.
  9. Lol, I must admit that I didn't notice this flaw when I typed away, even though I'm mostly f2p myself  I wouldn't want to see even more untradeable items added to the game with no specific reason, it further undermines the lesser-than-free market that we already had. Like the runecraft robes, they could have added a 50 runecrafting level to it, and change the graphics of leaf bladed spear.
  10. What you need is one server, where both f2ps and members can log in, but difference being members can do everything as they normally do in a members world, while f2ps continue to be restricted within the f2p areas. With members moving in and out of common areas in fanciful equipment and talking about topics most f2ps haven't heard about, everyone who sees it would join for sure
  11. Personally I'm more of a supporter of Saradomin among the three most popular gods, except when I'm feeling EVIL  Then again, if Jagex were to provide more in depth information about the rest of the Gods, like Zaros, Armadyl, Tumeken, Elidinis etc...Maybe my allegiance would shift to Armadyl. Support Armadyl and get a free pair of wings to fly around Gielinor!
  12. Yea, the "new armour every 2-3 levels" is an exaggerated version. But I think that every 5 would be good to provide more variety. Players can always choose whether to switch armour, depending on whether they have rich friends, got lucky at a party drop..... Actually, dragon equipment isn't bad in terms of stats and looks. It's just not worth the price, which is why people who have the requirements to equip it tends to skip it and go straight to barrows. If there is a level 60 equipment which has better stats than the level 50 one, and doesn't cost exponentially higher, who wouldn't switch to it? No armour at any level is useless (unless there is a better set at the same level), adamant set is still useful to a player with level 30 defence. No one really uses iron or mithril set? You're just suffering from a little memory loss \ Everyone in the range of 10-30 defence have to wear some sort of armour at least? I remember wearing iron, steel, mith, and addy set (skipped black). The only problem being from level 1 to 30 defence , the experience needed is rather low, so these sets become outdated fast during your whole RuneScape career. Digging skill FTW!
  13. BloodArgon, thanks for your feedback. Although I would say that I created this thread just to show the kind of updates I wished for, and not as true suggestion thread. As such some of the things listed are a bit far fetch, while most do not go into details. Neither do I take credits for all of the ideas, some have been posted over and over in RSOF as well as Tip.It forum. However regarding the crush stab and slash bonus part, it's actually the fact that *most* people with attack 40 will choose rune scimitar over any other rune weapon for training, regarding of their monster's defence bonus. Reason being there isn't much of a visible difference in damage output even when your monster has high slash defence and low crush/stab defence bonus, as well as the fact that scimitar's attack rate is relatively faster. That's why I added another part of revising the weapon speed to make the speed difference smaller. I don't really understand your bitterness actually. Afraid that no more new content would be added in the future? RuneScape's storyline has so much more that has yet to unfold. There are at least 4 storylines in quests that isn't completed. The game can go much further and have more depth in gameplay, and you want to be satisfied with magic being just a skill where you get the rune, cast the spell, and see the damage? With sapphires made into ring/necklace/amulet/bracelet, and then repeat the formula with the other gems? Please don't take the first post word for word, things can be fine tuned if they are ever released. 20mil for a new gem? No one said that, and personally I would disagree too, if miners have such a huge profit based on luck. If you call all those I've mentioned as Uber content, I'm sorry to tell you that I view most of them as nothing more than solutions to flaws that have existed and should have been patched, long long ago. Or basic systems that most games have, that RuneScape can choose not to have to remain *original*, and basically just hurt their gameplay more. Read it light heartedly, and enjoy the current RuneScape.
  14. Ever fantasize of an ideal Behind the Scenes that'll make people go WOAH and WOOT, a BTS that can bring back the excitment to RuneScape? I took a break from fishing (perhaps longer than expected), and typed out my ideal BTS of random revamps, improvement and perhaps some impossible updates, adding some that I've seen on the forums, thinking of new ones while typing : What's yours? IT'S LONG, SCAN THROUGH TO SEE THE HEADLINES YOU WANT TO READ ABOUT. More may be added later when I'm free. Disclaimer: The following wall of text is completely fictional, except for the santa suit section. Don't go ranting at Jagex in December when you don't see any of these on the December BTS, or any other BTS. Behind the Scenes DECEMBER Greetings fellow runescapers. In this month's BTS, we at Jagex want to surprise you guys, especially players who have followed us throughout the years. We have not one, not two, but a whole TRUCKLOAD of updates, changes and overhauls for everything from graphics to content! New RuneScape Rule and Tutorial Program We've added Rule Number X: Incessant Begging and Immature Behavior. Players will be banned from the game for a few hours up to a few....centuries, but no blackmarks will be issued. The tutorial for players who are new to RuneScape now includes a lesson on player etiquette, to save the rest of the community from noobish behavior, flaming, begging, spaming....... Updates We've promised to bring you one major update once a week, with one small update every 4-week month and two small updates every 5-week month. However, the Jagex team feels that quests are an essential part of the game, and new quests shouldn't take up an update slot. From now on, one quest will be released per month, as with the monthly Postbag from the Hedge, Letters to NPCs and Artwork Gallery! (Unless it's a MEGA QUEST) *NEW* We've added the new Editorial section, to answer serious questions from serious players with a serious tone. Why does teleblock have a chance to fail, while teleport ensure 100% escape in PVP? Why include baiting in Hunter when it has no visible benefit and no one uses them? How many members are on the RuneScape team? Why are pure essence not stackable? Who is Andrew Grower? Random Events Now that Real World Trading has been heavily curbed, and bots are no longer as common as before, we feel that random events are no longer necessary. They will all be removed from 3rd December onwards, so treasure your last meeting Incidentally, the Mysterious Old Man, Sandwich Lady, Peasant farmer along with the rest of the crew has decided to relocate themselves at Draynor and Port Sarim. Some of them may be selling snacks to passer-by, giving you lamps and books once a week or just minding their own business. Three-tailed pet peasant anyone? Combat System First off, several changes have been made to the combat system. We feel that it's time to change the old combat system, which had been in use for over 6 years. **You'll now find that the crush, stab and slash bonus affects the consistency of your damage more than before! See what happens if you try to slash at someone in runite platebody! In addition, magic bonus has been further divided into fire, water, air and earth elemental defences, while range bonus is now divided into impact and pierce bonus! **Defence is now a universal skill for all 3 combat types. We seriously don't feel like adding Magic Resistence and Ranged Defence as a new skill. Equipment, Old and New We're sure that many players are sick of hearing the same old names (runite, dragon, barrows). Rather than releasing one or two sets of armour and weapons and waste one update slot later, we've released equipment for all three combat types for level 13, 15, 18, 23, 25, 28, 33, 35, 38....all the way to level 75! Don't worry, our newly expanded Content Team is bringing you equipments for level 85 soon! On a side note, we've released equipment pieces which should have been there long ago. No point dragging along the years without a full dragon set, or a matching non-recharging coif for your dragonhide armour. Figure the rest on your own! New Mage Equipment Class Mages now have new equipment category! Totems: These pretty crystal ornaments greatly boost your magic attack and defence bonus! Wield them in your shield slot today! Mage spell books: Hunt and collect these new mage books! With their hardcover back, they provide some melee defence bonus against your prey! What's more, each book comes with it's own unique spells that appear on your spell shortcut slot on the combat interface! Binds & Snare for beginners: Bind, Snare spells Advanced Movement Constriction: Bind, Snare, Entangle and the *NEW* Entrap! (20 seconds bind spell). Reduce spell cost by 1 nature rune, up to a minimum cost of 1 nature rune. Controlling the mind and body Level 1-3: for your respective 5%, 10% and 15% stats reducing spell) Knockback for Rangers Tired of shooting arrow and bolts behind rocks and bushes? Your bows and crossbows now have a chance to make monsters and stop in their track, and a smaller chance of knocking them back one square! The better the weapon yo wield, the higher the chance of knockback happening. Now rangers can stand on their own! Party System Tired of being on your own? We've increased the areas of multicombat zones, as well as added more monsters on this giant landscape! Hill giant herds, goblin packs, dragon tribes, hunt them with your party members within 20 by 20 squares of the leader! Earn extra exp boost up to 15% with 4 members in your party! To form a party, add them to your *NEW* party interface to chat and fight at the same time. Equipment changes and requirements We've revised the stats of some of the eqiupment, and feel that changes need to be made: Dragonhide leggings and vambraces now have the same defence requirement as the body. Rune platelegs did have the same defence requirement as rune platebody....right? Right?? (Mod Mark: Yes, we didn't make a blunder on that one, at the very least) Battle staves and mystic staves have had their magic bonus boosted to fit their increased cost. You can now stop wondering why you pay an extra 40k for a mystic staff that's as "magically" powerful as normal staves! All weapons can now remembers your last selected combat style for each individual weapon, including spells selected for autocasting! Spells that requires special staves to cast no longer appear in your spell book, to make the layout neater. We've edited the spells that staves can autocast. Eg. God staves can autocast their respective god spells. Staff of Iban can autocast Iban blast. Attack requirement for weapons of the same metal type has been revised. (Eg, From rune dagger at level 31 attack to rune 2-hander, and battle axes at level 40 attack) Weapon speed has been revised, so that difference between different speed is reduced, speed gradient is gentler, and damage output of weapons fit their respective attack requirement. The dark bow has its firing speed slightly boosted to ensure that it has more damage output that magic shortbow, and hence better training value. Firemaking Skill While this skill was added to assist players in cooking without a range, the skill has literally no benefits today. Therefore, we give it an overhaul to fit RuneScape HD. New (and some old) areas and dungeon are now TOTALLY PITCH BLACK! Light up the area using tools with 10 varying levels of brightness of Eerie Glow to Blinding Light). You'll find that even with the 99 firemaking pre-requisite tool, you'll only be able to see up to 5 by 4 squares. Without proper lighting, you'll find that your character takes more damage from combat than usual, and sometimes fail to auto retaliate. Explore with your teammates, overlap your light sources to see the true horror and danger of these location! Fire from logs now last for different time period based on log types and firemaking level. Crafting and New Slots Bracelets now have a new look, looking more like bracelets and less like vambraces! New bracelets, rings and necklaces have been added to the game. Be aware though, these jewelery requires multiple steps in crafting multiple gems of different types, and you have a very high chance of failing at ANY STEP, destroying the whole product. Enchant them to see the addition benefits they provide! We've also added the new bracelet slot, to accomodate the expansion in jewelery, now players can get the best of both worlds! Mining What are Sunstone, Neptune Gem and Rainbow Crystal? That's right, new gems, which are a crucial part of the new jewelery! Miners now have a chance to get these rare gems whilst mining. We've added new mining locations in more.....adventurous locations where chance of finding these gems is higher, but beware, they are still as rare as your....well, just rare enough to be worth the find! Summoning After months since the release and revamp of summoning and summoning 2, we felt that low level players with combat under 30 and summoning under 25 have no benefits from using familiars, simply because they don't last long enough. All familiars now last a minimum of 30 minutes, so that low level players can use combat familiars more effectively to boost their damage, rather than bringing 10 pouches and summoning a spirit wolf every 6 minutes. It doesn't make sense that summoning gives you up to 12 combat levels, and yet doesn't boost your damage in single combat zone. We've modified the system so that your familars can now attack the monster you're attacking. Their damage in single combat zone will be slightly reduced as well. On the other hand, combat familars in multicombat zone will now be able to attack another target that players choose. Some of their scroll abilities have also been modified to hit multiple targets, with better accuracy. Defence and hitpoints of the familiars have also been boosted slightly so that familiars can stand on their own better, but don't expect to a level 57 spirit kyatt to fight on equal footing with a black demon! Lastly, we've fixed two problems with the familiars. When players run, familiars will now run behind the players, instead of slowly stroll along. The whistle button will still be there should your familiar be trapped behind walls etc. The 'walk here' option has been made the first option when you accidentally click on another player's pet or familiar. Cooking New recipes have been added! The Lumbridge Cook has went on a trip to every corner of Gielinor, from Lunar Isles to Keldagrim. It's been a fruitful trip indeed, and you may now discover how to prepare SOPHISITCATED delicacies that heal up to 30 HP, using old and new ingredient alike! Save yourself from that lucky 70 damage hit from the Armadyl Godsword! Construction Fans of the construction skill, we've not forgotten about you. Based on player feedback and suggestions on the forums, we added a few new rooms, as well as features to the existing ones. The "You can only have one games room" restriction has been removed. More costumes from quests and minigames can now be stored in the costume room. In addition, we've added the fancy costume box and shoe rack, as well as changed some of the old ones to better categorize the items. -Treasure chest: Treasure trail items -Wardrobe: Magic robes -Armour case: Metal armours, ranger armour -Toy box: Holiday items and costume -Fancy costume box: Clothes obtained during quests, as well as rewards from minigames that has no significant training values in any of the 3 combat types -Cape rack: Shoes -Shoe rack: Capes *The shoe/rack section, our Technical Team is still trying to get them to store the right things, bear with us for a while. Graphics, Technical Update and Day-Night System That's right, the Graphics Team of Jagex has finally complete Phase Two of the graphical update for HD! We've fixed every glitch that's been posted on the forum, thanks to the help of you, our loyal players. Graphics for the various races, as well as proportion of certain things such as trees, buildings and monsters has been updated! You'll find that the King Black Dragon is now King-Size, the land of Zanaris looks more fairy-like, and the Grand Tree looks grander than ever! You may sometimes find certain restriction in your travel, such as no weapons when using the flying carpet. Those restriction were implemented due to technical problems, but they've all been resolved! We love the Technical Team don't we? Finally, night time in Gielinor! You may have been amazed by the effects of night-time during the Halloween Event, and now they're here to stay! We will be fine-tuning the rotation between day and night during the next few weeks based on player feedback, so stay tuned! Guilds and Minigames We've heard of your opinions, rants, pleas and suggestions on the old guilds and minigames of RuneScape. For the next few weeks, guilds will be revamped in looks and usefulness! Find increasingly access to various section of the guild, use special facilities, and be the top guild member! Who will be the top shark fisher in the fishing guild? Who holds the number one spot of best fighter in the Combat guild? It'll all be here this month! Let's not forget the minigames. Fishing trawler plagued by looters? We've fixed that! A headgear from Chompy Bird Hunting that has no benefits after thousands of kills? How about better hit accuracy on chompy and jubbly birds when worn, and a fun new Chompy and Jubbly bird costume to run about in Varrock? Battle Robes not worth the recharge cost? We've fixed that too! Be surprised this month! Christmas Event, and more events! Did you know that fairies in Zanaris celebrate the Fairy Queen's Birthday in February with a grand birthday bash? And Falador has a horseback dueling competition in July? And Ardougne has an annual archery match on the grass patch outside the Ranged Guild? That's right, expect these annual events in RuneScape, plus more! Collect event items, make a name for yourself as the champion of the year, or simply indulge in the festive atmosphere! Last but not least, Christmas is here! Be sure to partcipate and collect your Santa suit, pet reindeer, and who knows, maybe a secret reward? (Who says we can only release one reward?) Ending Words With that say, expect more quests, new storylines to unfold, new achievement diaries to be completed, new SKILLS that will allow you to explore the land, sea and sky in ways you've never thought possible, as well as new equipment and monsters next year! Do you have what it takes to find ancient treasure buried deep in the ground, conquer the ocean, or even control Gielinor's airspace? Ever wondered where are the followers of Armadyl? Could they be UP there? Stay tuned in the year 2009, and happy Scaping!
  15. Thanks for the help guys, I'll be taking a few minutes to digest the information. : On a side note, there's a board for non-runescape related topics, but ALL questions belong here. So.......I believe tipit supports proper language, and not leetspeak?
  16. And I believe there isn't a bump button for tipit forum yet...
  17. Yea, I can fully understand how you're feeling. is there an English teacher out there who plays RuneScape? :wall:
  18. Let me rephrase again, how many of these are grammatically correct? I wonder if he ate the cake? I wonder if he eats the cake? I wonder if he has eaten the cake? I wonder if he had eaten the cake? I wondered if he ate the cake? I wondered if he eats the cake? I wondered if he has eaten the cake? I wondered if he had eaten the cake?
  19. I realised that I've never fully grasp the usage of 'if'. In this sentence, is the gramer correct? I wonder if he ate the cake? Or is it: I wonder if he eats the cake? I tend to use the first one based on how natural it sounds (to me), but I guess there are rules to be followed in languages. EDIT: Perhaps both of them are wrong, and it should be: I wonder if he has/had(?) eaten the cake?
  20. Is it It was a polite, correct prose which commonly appears in a Japanese textbook. Or It was a polite, correct prose which commonly appear in a Japanese textbook. And while typing out the topic title, I got confused again... Is it I wonder if a grammatical question belongs to here as well.. Or I wonder if a grammatical question belonged to here as well..
  21. The idea of PVP worlds is to mimic the old classic RS world where you can PK anywhere, with the exception of the drop system. But there are too many changes since class RS that the idea would not work equally well. Too large a world for too small a population A maximum of 2000 players in a world which is at least 4 times (not counting dungeons and hidden cities) the classic world, coupled with having banks as safespots. People are going to congregate around common areas like Varrock and Falador, bouncing in and out of safespots. Not to mention that your teleports bring you to these locations as well, making safespots highly accessible. If you're a bloodthirsty PKer, you have no choice but to go to the same areas as well. End up it isn't PVP World, but rather PVP LumbridgeVarrockFalador. Teleport VS teleblock. It really doesn't make sense that teleport works 100% (by any combat class, whether you are skulled or not) while teleblock has a chance to fail (more when cast on rangers). If we have the rule of not being able to log out during combat or within 10 seconds after it, I think this rule should be included for teleporting since both are ways are escaping. With safespots at the location where you teleport, it's going to be a big incentive for people to bring runes and standby. Something needs to be done about teleporting, teleblocking, and safespots in general. Drop system PKers use to pick targets based on what they might be carrying, so that they know how much risk to put in and how much they will reap from it. The drop system is just too random for people to gauge these factors. When Jagex mentioned about PVP worlds and the drop system, I imagined something along the line of 20-60% chance of getting a percentage of what your opponent drop, depending on your killcount as well as your opponent's. But with the minimum risk value of 75K and no further incentive beyond that, it's blatantly tell players that 1-4 itemer is more worth it. You can die a hundred times while 1-iteming with a DDS, but you just need to get lucky with someone wielding a godsword just ONCE. Likewise, you can kill a hundred players with a godsword, but with the majority using cheap equipment, you just need to die once and all your effort will go to waste. Lethality of PVP weapons VS HP of players Why is F2P PKing sometimes more enjoyable than P2P? Because fights last longer in F2P, and it's less on luck and more on skill. Sure, specs look impressive and works well when it does. However, what's the point if you are always going to fight someone with a full spec bar and one of you is always going down right after the first bar? Free players have up to 99 HP, and up to 32 damage to work with. Members have up to 118 HP (if you want to spend on Sara brews) and offensive enough to KO the average player with just one full spec bar. If you read the article on Tipit homepage you'll find that any more new weapons for 80+ attack would be simply overkill for PVPing.
  22. I thought the old saying was meant for players who already lost it? "Yea, I lost 250mil, no big deal though" It seems not just wrong, but CRAZY if you didn't click the weightless tablet worth 800gp to save your 250m+ gear when it's right in your inventory. Why would you not do it? To have the chance to say the old saying above? Or to get a pat on your shoulder for upholding your honor? (Maybe the latter, if Jagex introduces the pat shoulder emote) Even more so if you didn't agree to a death match, and you were caught off guard by lucky 1-itemer. And I believe that someone in the previous post would actually call you an idiot if you never click it. That's 1-0. By the way, it's still true that no matter how good your suggestion is here, it won't bring enough attention for it to be implemented. You've let off enough fumes, why not suggest it on ROSF as well?
  23. You're talking about another MMO, with a different combat system, and classes. All of these cannot even be compared with RuneScape. I don't even know what is the issue you're having here. If all true PKers have the same mindset as you, shouldn't all of you be happily killing each other, without preparing to run or teleport? Fact is, it's a problem within the PKer community. I'm not talking about the average Scaper who logs into a PVP world to try it out. (which is something you'll see a lot now, since it's a new update, and probably why you wasted so much food.) A PKer tends to target someone who wasn't intending to fight, or expecting it to happen (unless you start the honor thing again). In the past when wilderness was available for PKing, it's either the abyss runecrafters, or people doing treasure trail, or a skulled player in full armour and half barred . Now, it's skillers making full use of their gloves, or players using the best training spot, or (skulled)player in full armour and half barred. Those are the players who always have the word RUN in their mind when attacked. I'll say that teleporting is overpowered versus teleblock, in terms of inventory space and success rate. But to change the teleport system such that all players will have a small chance of escape makes having PVP worlds, with all the training facilites and resources still intact redundant. The point of the brawling gloves and it's benefit is to attract other players to PVP worlds, making themselves potential (but not 100%) targets for bloodthirsty PKers. The only way I see it is to EITHER make skulled players take an extra 10 seconds (or more, or less, it can be adjusted) to cast teleport spells or use teletab (an basically all teleporting tools, which is a rather tedious update). OR to make teleblock have a higher (or lower, or 100%, once again adjustable) success rate on skulled players. By attacking other players, you're pretty much declaring yourself a PKer, so it's an additional penalty for your aggressiveness. This will not penalise players with no intention of fighting, and ready to run at the sight of PKers. Then again, if you're a true PKer, why would you be running? Makes sense to say that there's conflict within the PK community (who asked for the return of PK) itself. It's like saying "All the PKers are complaining that all the PKers are teleporting when near death!!".
  24. If you want to talk about honor, or no-honor for that matter, the fact that your cowardly opponent ran from you should be more than satisfying for you, the honorable warrior. But no, you want to prevent people from teleporting. Just so that you, the upper hand, has another upper hand. To ensure you have a better chance of KO-ing. To get the drop. While that is part of PVP, you are asking for a change that affects more players negatively. Even if a master PKer were to get a pair of brawling gloves from lots of pking. He'll want to make full use of the gloves while it last. 150% exp VS 400% exp. A chance to get so much more prayer experience from your dragon bones! He changes to a skilling attire and starts training his skill. I don't see why he should be subjected to more dangers than before. You want to talk about NH? Unless Jagex makes you declare that you're an honorable PKer before you log into a PVP world only to PK and do nothing else, then yea, you won the argument. If you manage to fight and win someone equally honorable as you, it was a glorious battle. Good for you. If you manage to KO someone who was trying to run away from you, and is boasting away to your friends how useless and nooby your target was, good for you. :wall: If your target ran from you, well maybe he's no PKer, he has no honor, you have honor, I salute you. Now move on to your next target.
  25. Don't we always say, send a thief to catch a thief? Your points are all baseless and biased. Players who have all 99 skills, or even 200mil exp skills know which method of training is the fastest, the most profitable, the most fun, or a balance between these factors. And do you even know any of these players enough to confirm that they have no life other than living on runescape? Killing monsters, and players, have always been a part of runescape. All's far in love and (clan) war (within Jagex's rules), what's manipulating and stealing you say? It's just part of something called tactics. I rather listen to players who live on runescape and know it inside out, than players who play every now and then, suggest something he thinks would be all so cool and refreshing, only to turn out to be the next update everyone forgets 30mins after being introduced into the game. Or players who like a certain feature in another game, and blindly suggest that it gets added to runescape without considering whether it's applicable to this unique game.
