Tip.It Times Presents: Anything Goes
Finally... I was beginning to think I'm the only pragmatist in the whole of runescape! The wild was built for ingenuity, the deul arena was built for people who want to blatantly exploit their advantages without dealing with their weakness. I'll admit that I try to play by other people's rules... I lost a black mystic bottom to a lvl 94 mage pure AFTER I had checked hist stats. Wasn't sellin anyways :P. I also allowed myself to die to someone in the wild who, as far as I could tell, was practicing honor. We were in 18 wild, f2p, I had full rune, he was in a team. When he ate and a teammate attacked me, he immediately yelled off. I knew I was going to die and told him all I wanted to keep was my rune kite (as I didn't ahve a spare) so I flashed on protect. I died, left my tele runes on the ground, and wound up with rune legs in my inventory. He never gave me back my kite... :(. Never turned on private chat for taht matter :XD: Later I pked with a friend who had recently become p2p. He was lvl 102 and got owned quicker than a level 3 doing dt because he didn't safe or pray... It was sad to watch. As soon as he died, a lvl 110 with a whip skulled on me. I farcasted and made him tele (because my friend tbed the wrong guy :wall: ). But my friend continued to practice honor... Bottom line : End of the month I was 8 mil richer and he had lost almost everything. The 5 mil he came with and the mil I lent him. As for those who argued that I was cheap with farcasting... He was in melee armor. This grants huge bonuses to range and melee def. I was in mystic, granting no def to physical. Had I taken on a higher level like him face to face, I would have died easily. Mages always would. Super sets+dds specs+higher attack speed will always beat a mage dumb enough to sit there. You can't make up rules just to mask the fact that you made a poor and unversatile armor choice. If any of you know about the Middle Ages, you know the knights had a code of chivalry. Then came the crossbow... And the Pope outlawed it because it was too powerful and could easily slaughter a knight. Whoever disobeyed the Pope won. Now tell me.... When's the last time you saw a knight? After you answer that we come to the real question... What killed them? Honor and stupidity or the crossbow?

The complete "Should F2P get updates?" Debate! 5,000 views!
I read the first page and I saw that one of the biggest outcries was for bankspace. Just a quick suggestion if Jagex never gives more bankspace (which I wish they would). Become a member for one month. Just one month. Then you can fill your bank with every f2p item and essentially have unlimited bankspace. I use that trick when I desert my membership.

Tip.It Times Presents: Growing Pains
I'm sorry you feel that way, but do not assume that just because YOU know something, that everyone else knows it too. We have new players reading the Times as well, and I'm certain many of those people did not know about the CTRL + click trick. Calling something "lame" because you personally didn't learn anything is not the kind of feedback that is constructive. And please, if all you can think of to post is flaming comments about our Editor and the others that use our forums, we'd rather you'd not post at all. Kiara, calm down a bit. If he thinks it's a little slow, he should be able to say so. After all, I believe it was already used in a "Did You Know?" and it's clearly stated in the Getting Around guide. He didn't seem to say anything that was a direct flame either. IMHO his posts were very annoying, but nothing that broke the rules. As for the subject at hand, I'd like to clarify that when most people say "younger players" they mean under 13. I can remember I was even dumber than I am now at that age, but I was still smart enough to figure out that there's no way Jagex could catch me for saying I was 13+. However it does vary from person to person, and a 12 year old friend of mine has recently started playing and he's a quite admirable noob. Let's face it though: This is a rare circumstance. The majority of kids that age still operate on the, "ME ME ME!" train of thought. Inevitably, they create threads saying, "Make more whips!", "Nerf the dds!", and, "Make more P hats!" Unfortunately, there's been a deluge of these players, and it's starting to influence Jagex. Although I'm a fan of penguins, I'll flip if I see one more penguin throw-away quest or one more weapon stronger than a granite maul, given out for free. Jagex might not mind it's high lvl players leaving though... It'll make newbies feel like they're accomplishing something and continue joining. P.S. Really, there was nothing hard to understand in the article. P.P.S. If you need an obscure fact for a did you know, check out what Jagex did to the Barrelchest Anchor. It turns into 230k gp when you die! You could change that whacky weapon into cash! P.P.P.S. Zarfay, your spelling and grammar is horrific. P.P.P.P.S. If I said anything bad... Zamorak made me do it!

Tip.It Times Presents: Growing Pains
Oh boy... All I ever hear is, "Jagex is going under!", "Runescape is becoming a toddler's game!", or "You're a noob!" Well to be honest, the noob comment is irrelevant to this, so I guess I have no right to complain. As for the fall of RS, I doubt (or at least seriously hope) it's not going to happen. I've been playing over 2 years, starting out sneaking around in libraries. I have about 10 membership receipts in my e-mail and I'm currently taking a break from p2p in order to focus more on reality. (Working great, huh?) Over the years, I've seen just as many annoying noobs each time I logged on. Maybe it was just bad timing, but I've only noticed a few things that have an immature tilt to them. The main one that comes to mind is, "BAR-REL-CHEST AN-CHOR." Aside from a few completely idiotic updates such as these, it seems we're on a pretty gradual tilt, and I'll be out of college by the time this hits the level of Club Penguin. *Checks memory... remembers the Parent's Guide...* Forget everything I just said! We're all gonna die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :ohnoes:

What Did You Do On Your First Day On Runescape?
I chased the flag and beat up hobogobos, simply amazed at how they dropped runes. I was on cloud 9 when I got a tally... then they killed me and I lost everything and I kept asking people how to fight without a sword... I thought I'd get owned without my lovely bronze short. lol. Oh and then I begged someone to walk me through cook's assistant and spent time chasing that phantasmic red flag.

Tip.it's Stance on Luring (with Jagex's official stance)
Oh please. Prayer is a skill that raises cb and was engineered into the game. Luring is taking advantage of other people.
-
Is luring an acceptable practice?
Oh boy... I can't believe the enormous support for luring... Stupid people should be enlightened and noobs should be educated, not exploited! Helping the weak and educating the ignorant are the basis for civilization. Without that it reverts to cut neck survival of the fittest. Since this is a moral topic, I feel I need to inject my religion as that's a heavy influencer on my views (call it my philosophy if you don't like religion). Romans 15:1-2 "We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up." It comes down to a matter of whether or not you care more about yourself, or someone else and what's right. If this doesn't convince you, go rip off a 4th grader with a cheap trick for their candy, and see if people think you're in the right.

~~**Useless Runescape Facts**~~ 75,000+ views! 1k+ Replies!
Not sure if it's significant but... there are some member's items that are examinable in f2p and give a description, erego they may well be usable as all the other ones are non-examinable. Most notable are broad arrows, which could possibly be shot at other people in f2p... have to try it some time.

Grandiose language is perfectly fine. If you need it to make ur point, use it. It makes things have such an elegant feel... I particularly liked the Latin. We should have everyone everywhere learn it as a second language so we can communicate globally.

Other uses for Body runes??? delete please
bodies are cheap and are meant to be so. If you want to get rid of them use curse in conjunction with ranging to speed training up (believe me, it works wonders) or stick on full iron, grab a staff, and cast curse on the caged blue dragon. Not all runes were made to be powerful. Think bronze arrows. Also, summoning is doubtful. I don't think they'll make it.

Heh Hehe. I actually joined just to respond to this, the first really good article I've seen in months of monitoring this site. It had some good thoughts, and I hope people take it to heart... or at least the people who need to. Good job :D P.S. I'm only 15 and a sophomore in high school, so you have a kid supporter... of course I'm known as an intellectual, wimp, and... well... I still count!
