Should double wielding be allowed?
LordoftheSquishies replied to Lem2222's topic in General Discussion
Sounds about right. I mean honestly, they've managed to boost the max hit by 1 or 2 and they add +20 accuracy to the whip. As for the idea regarding lowering defence if you could dual-wield, have any of you heard of rock crabs, or prayer-training, or anything else where defence doesn't matter and max hit is supreme? Not to mention that even in PvP we'd be seeing a lot of double ko's. Go get a defender or a godsword if you want improved max hits. I know that my godsword has a max of 43 while my whip with DFS has a max of 33... on slayer assignments while super-potted that is. I have horrible melee stats. -
I think they'd be a highly exclusive market, as summoning is already an expensive skill. I guess my estimates are as follows: Gold: 40 gp or so... they're easy to get, and used because they're cheap levelling. Low quality familiars aside from the terrorbird and small amounts of xp keep this in the bottom of the price range. Green: 30 gp. Everyone hates these. They're used to break even on summoning, by attempting to use every last one of mass-produced familiars such as ibises. Everyone has too many greens. Crimson: 150gp. Lousy familiars, superior training, you can never have enough if you're looking to power-level. Blues: 6k? Blues are rare, the familiars are useful both in combat and out of combat. To be honest, 6k might be on the low side. Just so you know, this is all from a guy with 102 cb, 81 slayer, and 1 summoning. 6k charms banked though :)

This update to the site is hopelessly doomed, isn't it? *sigh*... Well I can tell you one thing: The maximum hit for the dragon arrows has been figured out. Go search the runescape forums for "Dark Bow Calc". I think they hit something like 1.225 times your level, + all the pots and prayers and special and equipment. I believe that at my level, 90 ranged, I can actually one-hit myself using d arrows (p++)

Will there be any impact of duel arena update on rares?
LordoftheSquishies replied to Freesia's topic in General Discussion
Awright then, it's Thanksgiving vaca, I can't sleep, and noone's on AIM... Curse my luck! So I hop on here. What a beauteous little conversation... OK, so here's my take on the rare market and how it should be treated. To me, rares have always been the only way to combat inflation in the game. Up until the Godsword (which, Qeltar, I have read your article on btw), dfs, and d full helm, all other items were GUARANTEED to fall in price as time went on. Rares however, were virtually guaranteed to rise, or at least not to fall. So, after I reached 99 fletching after... I guess it's been 3 years of gameplay... I bought a santa hat. Then I decided, "Hey! My Runecrafting is horrible and I could use some more cash before school starts!" So I then runecraft double cosmics quite a few levels... Then I look at my bank account and think, "Wow, I'm pretty rich compared to all my friends..." and decided to give out about 7 mil between all of them (yes, I know, I'm a cheapskate). Then I keep skilling. I accumulate more money and buy another santa hat, holding out for X-mas so I can finally buy those useful items I've always wanted (then the Godswords came out and I felt kinda poor :P). Now, looking at my bank account with 2 santas, 15 mil cash, and assorted items, I do one thing... *drags table over and smacks head off of it*. Yes, rares have always been a source of corruption, but they've also been a safeguard for legitimate players who don't want to play the roller-coaster merchanting game, watch all their accomplishments degenerate into mucus, or simply get busy with life and want to come back to an account at roughly the same standing it was before. Now I have no problem giving up that safeguard if it's for the greater good of everyone (although I really wish greedy morons who trust charlatans offering free rares would be the ones forced to grow up instead of me *ahem ahem*), but I would have appreciated one thing: a warning. A nice little, "Hey, we're gonna destroy your livelihood, so watch out!" Jagex dropped 2 bombs on the populace in this single update, taking out investors and stakers. Even with imminent domain governments let people know when they're about to be bulldozed! Is it so much to ask for the same courtesy given my playing record? Ah well... Maybe I'll quit RS and do something productive like learn an instrument... HA! Nah, I'll still play regardless of how it goes. I like this game that much :P P.S. It's midnight, so sorry about one big goopy paragraph and mangled sentence structures. P.P.S. If anyone feels like talkin about this til I pass out, Private chat's on. -
Monday Poll: Have you ever been scammed by a friend?
LordoftheSquishies replied to MPM's topic in General Discussion
I had a friend scam me near my beginning membership days... Took my d med and dragon skirt, which was 1.4 mil at the time. However, he had a change of heart and gave me back 1.5 mil 3 days later. He then proceeded to pay back everyone he ever scammed, despite having his account hacked 3 or 4 times. We're still pretty good friends on Runescape, and I was just chatting to him at Dags. Great guy, really. On a more negative note... Some guy stole 700k I loaned him... Can't even remember what prompted me to loan it to him :\ -
Tip.it Times Presents: Co-op or Competitive?
LordoftheSquishies replied to MPM's topic in General Discussion
I don't mean any offence, but the Editor seems to have developed a penchant for overblown melodrama as of late. "draw our swords"... Yeah... Personally, I enjoy exchanging insults with my WoW playing friend during AP US History. It's called banter. Also, there isn't that much of a difference between competitive and co-op as far as I've noticed. The two are switched in between so frequently that delineation can be vague at times. Consider Team Slayer in Halo, any CTF mode, or the lunar spell set in Runescape. Is casting vengeance on your friend to kill off another player competitive or cooperative? And let's not forget the classic of PJing... Teamwork in its purest form. -
Metoo's Guide To GodWars Dungeon with videos!!!!
LordoftheSquishies replied to metoo1000's topic in General Guides
Thank you very very very much for finding out about the holy water. Saves me a suicide run. I'm still kinda curious about Darklight though... I mean yes, the whip is more powerful, but the special would be incredibly useful. Lowering his defence, attack, and strength by 10%??? Way better than a dds. Of course, I think it probably wouldn't work :( -

You absolutely can. I have about 160 vials of it sitting in teh bank. I saw the 30s I was dealing (unpotted, no prayer, speed of knives) and got a little excited. Of course it was a total waste of vials and it takes ages to make... Unless of course that boss is susceptible to it, in which case... Free Zammy hilt, even at 92 cb :D -
... You actually called slayer boring, didn't you...

Coza17's Master Green Dragon Hunting Guide! All methods inc!
LordoftheSquishies replied to coza_17's topic in General Guides
Just so you know, there is a safe spot in the eastern trees for one dragon if you prefer to use a bow. Not the most effective as you have to wait for spawns but... Eh. It's still there and can save some food if nothing else. -
ERm... your guthans... Is kind of worthless. Offense and pray are really the only things that count at irons and steels, sorry to break it to ya buddy.

Anyone know if the demons are susceptible to Darklight/Silverlight and Holy Water? Holy water is just ownage... I remember hitting 25s with it at 80 range, unpotted, not praying, as fast as knives. So that would make the demons significantly easier. Darklight has a pretty nice special, and is really really cheap, so you could wear more expensive armor and not worry about protecting your whip. So... anyone know?

Tip.It Times Presents: I have the answer, Mr. Runescape!
LordoftheSquishies replied to MPM's topic in General Discussion
Runescape has made me a decent typist, but as far as education goes, it has stolen away countless hours that could be better spent with my nose in a book. Honestly, I could've memorized all the classics if I spent as much time reading as I did playing Runescape. As for math, I do those in my head when I wake up in the morning and try to get all my clocks numbers to end up as the final digit by putting them through any number of phases. Runescape is in no way good for kids... I just hit 80 mining today though! -
Get out. You have no place amongst those who recognise the rights and wishes of fellow human beings. Ok, quick thing here. People have the freedom to be gay, correct? People also have the freedom to eat rotted 3 day old meat that was dunked in sewage if they so choose, correct? Does the latter seem disgusting to you? Chances are yes. So you just called a choice disgusting. Grats. Now take a look at the Bible where it clearly classifies homosexuality as a sin. So it's his opinion that it's disgusting and a fact that the Bible calls it a sin. Hence to him (yes, he said to him, no he didn't try ramming his opinion down other's throats) it is disgusting and to all believers and God it is a sin. Hence he has a place. Malo2, you argue like one of my friends. Guess how many people he's convinced. Bbalking, when did the Bible insult women? :-k It was pretty pro-woman for those times. Please use a quote as well. Here's mine so you can call it even. 1 Peter 3:7 "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers." Furthermore, your classification of all Christians as "[bleep]-haters" and that every Muslim "approves of the murder and destruction of the world for 'righteousness'" is extremely stereotypical. And as for the Bible being forced, at my school they don't even make us say the Pledge of Allegiance . They do however force us to read Shakespeare, which for the life of me I can't figure out how to appreciate or how it'll impact my life. Seems like a bigger time waster to me.
