Lem2222
I made a topic a while ago about what weapons you would want in Runescape. Alot of the posts suggested ideas about double wielding something. So I want to see how you will feel about double wielding. Quick Link to Lem's Blog

sarg1010
i think dual-wielding would be awsome, but with some restrictions. Double whips would most likely take 95 attack (anything lower would be to easy to use for that kind of power), dual-weild d-long/scim would own  and as always, youd need 130 attack for dual-godswords  Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne. Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~ DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!
Star_Fox
we already have 2h weapons. 2 whips would completely nail the head over godswords.
Deathodie1
If they were to introduce Dual weilding in the game, I think they would have to lower all hits, make every weapon weaker, then it would make dual weilding fair. Because some weapons would be extremely overpowered. So making them weaker would make it fair. And to dual weild a certain weapon you need to be 10 levels over single weilding. So 50 for dual rune weapons etc. But I think it would be cool to have dual dragon daggers, 4 hit special :P Mister Fish
highlanders
It is pretty cool, obviously. 2 whips would completely nail the head over godswords Thanks, Mr obvious. Who's talking about making it possible to wield two single hand weapons? That wouldn't be balanced aside from how ridiculous it would look to use 2 single hand weapons at the same time. Those are always going to be with shields. Stuff like torags hammers, except useful, is how we'd do this. 2480+ total

highlanders
Why don't you go buy a torags hammer at the GE, equip it and tell us what happens Mr smartypants. Look I can make the roll smiley too  2480+ total

Junkmutt
I can see somthing that has the strength of a rune dagger that attacks like knifes and darts? [hide=Drops]Dragon: Spear x1, Med helm x3, legs x2, pickaxe x1, skirt x3, scimitar x1Barrows: DH helm x1, Verac Brassy x2, Karil Skirt x1, Ahrim Hood x2, Guthan SpearGWD: Arma Helm x1Other: Handcannon x4, Leaf Bladed Sword x3[/hide]
Bloodkay
I think dual wielding would be restricted to smaller weapons such as daggers and wc axes and short swords so as not to over power it. Plus you would most likely attack slower. Taking a Playstation 3 break.
The_Avatar
Highlanders and admiral you may want to keep the flaming to a minimal for your own sakes. To be honest you both look pretty immature right now. Anyways back to the topic at hand I've always dreamed of having a whip in one hand and a rune cross bow in the other, whipping moss giants in one direction, and shooting off the heads of zombies in another direction. =P~ Previously known as Monkeybeast0. Ultimakomoto
But I think it would be cool to have dual dragon daggers, 4 hit special :P And THAT is the exact reason dual-wielding will never happen. As if the dagger wasn't overpowered enough, let's give it 8 more hits... Need a new signature....perhaps...
Promise
Besides the 4 hit special, which can easily be a 1 hit KO, what about whips? The max with a whip is something like 53, now times that by two. Another easy KO. The only way we would be able to double wield is if the stats of the weapon where cut in half. But this would defeat the purpose of dual wielding, as you could get better attack and defence bonuses with a shield or defender. Which is why torag's hammer shall forever remain the only duel wield weapon.

But yeah, I think more dual wielded weapons would be cool, of course dual-wielding already existing weapons would be a little weird, but new ones I wouldn't mind. Pirate Rosetta stone. Guest
Double wielding as long as it's only new weapons that come out after the ability comes into the game.
n_odie
I would say they would have to incorporate agility into the skill. The higher your agility the less you damage yourself. And with 2 weapons i would think you would hurt yourself. We could also have guns! [/humor] RIP MichaelangelopolousThanks to cowboy14 for the pimp sig! kingbd
If they allowed dual wielding the whole combat system would have to be overhauled IMO. Weapons could still hit the same but be restricted by only being able to use potions as an attack boosts. Also using a shield would have to be equal to the effects of another weapon, as in having huge defence bonuses. It would require a lot of thinking and I don't think it will ever happen but you can hope.
Nope12345
Id love to double weild but it whould be over powered, ways to make it not is to have a higher att lvl needed to weild and/or a str lvl neede to weild the 2nd weapon or to have it limited to the weaker weapons or give it has less accuracy OR give it 75% attack power instead of doubling it Unfairly Banned-Appeal In Process, Its been slow due to the sheer number of them
Roseiah
I don't think dual wielding should be allowed. Runescape already has a good balance of weapons. Each weapon has a weakness and a strength in every situation. We already have weapons that require two hands and I don't see the need for anything else. Seabourch
It would be cool yes, but that'll mean monsters will be too easy to kill. You could down monsters like kalphites easily( although this becomes tough with dragons). You could insert a counter such as it increases the risk of being hit and you get hit for more when you wield it. Its actually a bad idea unless your restricting it to low hitting weapons like short swords and daggers.
phata_elise
possibly. IMO, double wielding is here already in the shape of the defender. First, shields should become much more important for def. That way, you really need think about the worth of wielding an additional weapon vs the hefty loss of defense. Than it could be a nice addition to the game. Makes sence to me. (otherwise shields would be a bit too strong perhaps, dfs def bonus is already huge). So double wielding is like 0.75 attack power (but x2) and -40 def or so? So double wielding is like 0.75 attack power (but x2) and -40 def or so? with barrows around, 40 def is nothing. double wielding should not be better than a weapon and a shield or defender, but an interesting alternative for some situations. let's say: max hit stays the same. double attacks (so in effect double attack speed) and a 50% def reduction. Also, to make sure it will not be a pure only thing, you need equal def lvl as the required attack lvl. So 60 att and def required to wield dual dragon scimitars. MicroLegionnaire
Is this related just to melee weapons?? Because if it isn't, imagine the chaos you could cause with a whip *AND* a rune crossbow!
