Yeah, does sound like the best way to go... I've been using my msb for 33 levels though... *sniff*. C bow is definitely not an option though. If I'm too cheap for slayer dart I'm definitely too cheap for that. And I kinda figured out how to make the dark bow work... in the mounds that is. Very effective as a separate ranging weapon against ahrim. Just safe spot and hide in between shots. Whereas he'd normally get a few spells by the time you fired, you'd bring it back to a 1:1 ratio. Doesn't save you any time irl, but it should help with food.

lol, tyvm. I'll look into a way to speed it up. Maybe train my melee or use something better than iron arrows.... Think a rune c bow would be good, or too costly?

Can't use too many runes when I don't use any :D. I've got high quality ammo that costs oh... maybe 100 gp a shot. Then I have my lovely iron arrows. Ever try msb-ing torag with iron arrows? I'm glad noone at barrows cares about picking them up, or I'd be out.

It's always possible with 43 or more prayer... Well I mean pathetically easy with 43 or more prayer. Below that, it might be some work. Just charge in guns blazing and eat them. Bring a pillow in case you get bored.

Ok, I tried out barrows awhile ago. I used a technique I came up with after finding the slayer dart method unbareably... Noobly. So with my method I do a run about every 20 minutes. (I safe spot the tunnel brother using an msb with iron arrows... lol.) I use no runes and my granite plate, dragon skirt, and barrow gloves are the most expensive things on me. I never drink prayer pots except when I get karil as a tunnel (got lucky once... did him prayless and took 15 damage.). My best trip I used 2 lobsters. My worst trip I used 4 sharks and 2 pray pot doses. Torag, verac, guthan... they all hit 20s and ahrim was a real pain. Did I mention Karil was my tunnel that round? Argh... but in the 16 trips I used about 5 pray pot doses and maybe 50 lobsters and 10 sharks. Am I doing fairly well? Oh, feel free to look up my stats. Nothing changed except my strength going to 73 while I was there.

Heh heh. I used to think that I was stuck in a high concentration of noobs... Now I feel better :).

Nice guide. Then again it's 2:46 so what do I know? Only thing I'd like to point out is about the aberrant specters... You really don't have to use the prayer pots if you don't feel like it. I can manage pretty easily with lobsters and full black d hide.

Beacon ring personally. I'm not gonna give away my other gear. But I can say I spend less on a full trip than what I've heard the average player spends maging half the brothers... And with all my skill and vast experience (about 20 runs, lol) I have never gotten a barrows item :(. Ah well. I can always come back in a month.

I'm 25 levels to a total of 1600 so I figure maybe a total of 1650, able to catch drag implings, get my fletching to 99 by the end of this month, 99 mage and range if possible, cause the economy to crash, get a life, finish my AP summer assignments, win Nationals with my team, get a life x2... And get a life. Which of these sounds hardest... :-k

Hey, you see my Rs name on the side. If you're interested in finding out more about range and prayer, and making it common knowledge, add that name to your Runescape friendlist. If I can get 5 people, we'll research the following things, and come back with answers: 1) Exactly how long does prayer last, recorded to the nearest second? Down to every last prayer, prayer combination, and all the prayer bonuses we can afford. 2)How much do the cross bow bolts hit for? Do gem tips cause more damage? How powerful are the enchantments? Are pearl bolts viable for training on Fire Giants or topaz bolts viable for ice giants? Does your magic bonus and level affect how often the enchantments take place? 3) How hard do obby rings and Karil's bow hit? A couple of things in closing... I'm not that rich. Sell my santa and all my items and I have maybe 40 mil max. Therefore, we'll coordinate activities and exchange data, but we'll all be buying our own testing materials. Please pm me, or post here. I'll check back every so often.

Look up my stats if you want my background on this (1550+ with 90 cb if that's any idea). Prayer's useful; don't hate it, use it. I don't use prayer often... I got my rear owned my first time through Dream Mentor (low melee for ya) and ended up using the duck in and out technique for RFD. And quite simply, I don't need 43 prayer to be invincible. I need one mage or one range... WHOA! I STARTED WITH THOSE!... Yeah. And you can kinda buy into combat no matter what using the logic presented here. Instead of buying d bones, try buying bloods. Thank you soooo much for bashing the ditch. I had read on the official rant in the RS forums that most people on fansites were HAPPY about the ditch. I was too terrified to check these forums... Glad they were wrong. And did you notice how in 3 days it had more posts than a 8 month old sticky? And did you notice how there was a new reply every 7 seconds? One_Time, tyvm for answering. The information really helped me understand what happened. Flammacor, let's not split hairs here... The only difference between an opinion and a "fact about personal preference" is whether you say, "Ice cream is the bomb," or, "I think ice cream is the bomb." They both mean the same thing. As for your example about the opinion of 2+2=5... that's a proven fact. Losing honor when you pray isn't. Winning when you pray against a pure who wants you to throw away 7 of your combat levels is. They can keep their ethics to themselves after I own them though. Having a noob follow you around saying you have no honor is similar to a protestor following you around after a rally. The latter results in a restraining order. And I'm with you on the Wildy history article. Not an editorial, but sounds fun to read.

They teled? lol! Guess you're just that scary... Can't say I'd blame them if they're skilling or drastically weak though (which they obviously weren't). Was the DM agreement officially stated though, or was it just assumed? Is there an agreement before these fights or is it a breach of honor if you go against what the other person expects? (These are honest questions. No point trying to be made like with my last few.)

Well the mage arena grants spells that have their main use in pking, so why not have it in the wild? There should be a lot of risks with these things, and the wild should be dangerous. But noone should expect "honor" to lessen the danger for them.

You do make a good point. Honour=higher frequency of kills, but both systems grant the same ratio. One thing you're overlooking.... If even one person doesn't follow honor, it falls apart.

Just looked in here and saw about the personal gain thing... Think about it from the loser's perspective. How much are they gaining? The wild was made dangerous and you should go out there expecting to find someone who will tb, ancient, poison, spec, pot, d stone bolt, or pray you. Go out there if you want a good fight and the chance to make money. CHANCE! In the deul arena it may be honor and the "best" man... But in the wild, "May the smartest man win."
