Oh shit, that's right it's Spring Jam this weekend. I have a couple buddies at the U that are going to it.

I saw them when they opened for Iron and Wine at First Avenue in St. Paul. I wasn't especially fond of them but they did have a lot of energy. The drummer kept hitting his cymbals with a [bleep]ing tambourine :roll: I'm going to attend the first ever River's Edge Music Festival in June with my Mother and Sister. I'm really looking forward to it!

I swear, you and How2Pk have nearly identical tastes in music! I'm not the biggest fan of Nick Cave, but I'll give it a positive rating 6.8/10.

This is the best idea that made me bust a gut in a long while. Congratulations! It sucks most people who get in those idiotic arguments likely won't get or recall the reference. I feel like a [wagon] but could you explain it? For me too. I mean I get the 1984 reference, but I don't really see where it's so unbelievably funny.

The only problem I see with downsizing the U.S. military is that the U.S. has angered many, many nations over the last century. Showing signs of weakness (aka, slashing military funding) could encourage possible hostile nations to attack. Pure speculation here of course. Take it with a grain of salt. That being said, I think that the best bet is to bring our men and women home from any and all combat situations. I mean for god's sake, we spent $20 billion on air conditioning alone in ONE year in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I realized there hasn't been any significant discussion on the 2012 elections. I have been following the presidential campaigns almost religiously via various news websites over the year. I'm not sure who I plan to vote for yet, but it has been an entertaining primary season. There are also a number of important state and congressional elections where we can get a better picture of how the nation feels about the 2010 elections. Will it be a season of throwing out the incumbents? Also, the Governor Walker Recall on June 5th in Wisconsin could possibly be indicative of how voters feel about newly elected GOP politicians--and one that is personally relevant since I grew up in Wisconsin.
