Jagex barely breaks even with the F2P version as it is now. If they made it all free they would go bankrupt and no more RS... ever. There is no sign of RS3 coming any time within the next 5 years, Jagex will probably just keep updating RS2. And if RS3 does come out it will become like RSC, only available if you are paying and if you have an existing account. It'd be nice if it was free, but its not possible.

+1, Its a good start, now expand off of that idea. Somehow make it fit into the history of RuneScape. (not like the real history, but the one Jagex made up in the game.)
