I tried to do system restore, both from regular boot, and safe mode. "An unspecified error occurred during System Restore" happened both times. Ill try another restore point I guess. Edit: yeah, I chose another restore point and it still won't work.' Also, for anti virus and what not I have Avira and Malewarebytes. Could either of those be affecting it somehow?

I'm running Vista 64 bit. When I try to run windows update I get the error code 80072EFD. I have looked up the error and tried pretty much every possible solution I could find. I have a feeling it not being able to update has to do with the fact that I somehow managed to get the MS virus removal tool virus. I booted in safemode and removed it with Malewarebytes though. But now Windows Update won't work. Also, when I boot into safemode my monitors seem to shut off after about 10 minutes and they won't come back on. It seems like my GPU is overheating but when I boot in regular mode and monitor the temperatures none of them are high enough for overheating. I really don't know what to do. Heeeelp meeeee.
