I don't see how moderation has anything to do with it. For me its all about the ease of use. I mean, if I felt like really listening to this song -- but it was on another CD, or at home, I'd have to switch out the CD or just not listen to it for the day. Just because you have thousands of songs at your disposal does not mean that you're going to listen to them all each day. Really you're just kind of arguing a lost cause here. Its cool that you enjoy your CD player, and its fine if you don't want to spend the money for an mp3 player or simply just don't want one. However stop trying to tell us that we are spoiled simply because we have an mp3 player.
  2. diablo 2 still has a lot of people playing :/. Not so sure about now that hellgate london came out, but yeah.
  3. Yeah I like the effect, just think it should be shaved down a (little) bit.

Yes, spoiled. Movies aren't meant to be watched on a screen that isn't just 5 by 5. in centimentres And with the music spoiled that means that you are spoiled when you've always got 2000 songs with you to choose from, and when you pack a discman you take two or three CD's at most and then you're learning to value what you've got and how it is made, not when you just brainlessly go from #42 to #1837. Besides, why is it neccesary to always have all your music with you. It's sad when you're on the street and you see all those zombies with something in their ears just walking a bit. You know, you don't always have to listen to music, it's nice to communicate with other people as well. Because, believe it or not, some people are not sure what they want to listen to for the day. I can switch from a techno mood to a death metal mood instantly, and its nice to just have all my music there available to me at once. CD's are also simply an annoyance to carry around. Honestly though, I don't know why you're trying to argue this. Aside from cost mp3 players are clearly superior.
  5. Hows it going mate? :P
  6. I think it could do with a bit less black on the sides IMO. Other than that very nice.
  7. That's because you're a girl. Your parents trust you more. Um, Lionheart is a guy. Than explain the boobs. And lady parts.
  8. Those are good, but whats the ping for it? And the location isn't a huge deal since chances are most of what you're doing on the internet is much further away from you.
  9. You're wrong. The 3 things that can survive a nuclear war are cockroaches, Twinkies, and Tip.it.
  10. How long can this 'session' be? :P I'd say I would finish Hellgate London but with the mem leak issues I'd only get a few hours out of it, LOL. I'd probably play an MMO and just go from start to finish without logging out or stopping. :uhh:

I tried getting into EVE about 3 times, but couldn't do it. Its a brilliantly done game, no doubt, but not my style. The combat in the game bored me to tears.
  12. Any more info? How is your computer connected, what kind of speeds are you getting (speedtest.net).... Not near enough info for us.

That statement is made out of all sorts of LOL.

    A) For a 'good' 360 it costs $400, for a 'good' PS3 it is $500 (I want to say now.) Sony had price cuts on the PS3 but the cheaper model they made sucks. No backwards compatability, less hard drive space, ect. B) both kind of dabble in any kinds. Right now the 360's library obliverates the PS3's library in any way so its a better choice. It also has a great RPG coming out (Mass effect) that is exclusive to the console. Anyone who thinks that the PS3's library (currently) is better is just a fanboy. I'm not saying that it won't change in the future but there isn't much out there (exclusive to PS3) that is worth it. MGS4 is coming out soon and thats all I've seen. C) If you can't tell, 360. PS3 is not as powerful as it (in theory, it is, but in practice its an entirely different story) and the 360's library has simply had much more time to mature.

What are you talking about? Daan put up a picture of a CD player, which can play CDs, which have between 10-20 songs on them. He meant that a CD player is useless to him because he can't hold all of that info on them. It was kind of poorly worded though.
  18. Nope it won't. Also as people come and go topics will get rehashed and new topics will come forward.
  19. Wouldn't this be better suited for the halo 3 thread?
  20. Macs are just suposidly the 'standard' for graphics, while they can do the exact same tasks in photoshop as a PC can. I've used the macs in our computer lab now for a good number of months and photoshop is exactly the same.

It's not kind of dumb. It's very smart; I'm giving him advice to get something better that he hadn't thgought of yet. By your logic all those people recommending a Zen are doing something kind of dumb as well, since he asked about I-pod. A CD player isn't 'large', you're just spoiled with your tiny music boxes. I always took and still take my discman around and I never had any problems putting it away. People had discmans to listen to music "on a go" as well, you know. yes, I know. I used to have one for a long time. Also the jump from an iPod to a Zen isn't the same thing as an iPod to a CD player. And why do you continue to insist we're spoiled? There are a lot of reasons to have an mp3 player instead of a CD player, obviously one of which is storage size and the other is the simply small scale of one. You can inisist all you want that a CD player is fine but when you have a few thousand songs its just a hassle dealing with CD's.
  22. Not that funny. :/
  23. In terms of using Linux for coding, it depends what you are coding, and if you have a choice I would always go for Windows. I'm not disagreeing, just wondering, but why Mac for graphic design? Honestly the only reason is its a bit easier to do color adjustment for your screen, but its not difficult to do that on a windows based PC. Honestly I don't think I could use another OS. I'm simply too used to being able to have whatever I need. When I'm gaming, doing artwork and programming I obviously need a platform that can do it all. Plus once you have the right software windows is plenty safe.

I've had my iPod for... about 3-4 years now and its fine. Nearing closer to 4 years. Same model too. Either way recommending a CD player when he wants an Mp3 player is kind of dumb. Most of us have one so we can actually listen to music on a go, where a CD player (comparatively) is pretty large. I know one couldn't even fit in my pocket.
  25. "well, what if hell wasn't real?" "than.. we'd nuke hell?" "thats a good thing right?" "but what if heaven isn't real, than we'd nuke it". :wall: :P
